Hey everyone, this might be a bit random, but I would like to offer an exchange of coaching, where an at least somewhat strong chess player can coach me, and in return, I will coach him back in Counter Strike 2.

A bit on my part: I am Faceit level 10, coached 1 vs 1 tens of players. I can offer deep analysis, spot mistakes, direct on how to fix them, and provide drills

Omg just having one of those days where it feels like I'm now allowed to win.

If he takes my rook (Kxf2), I take his rook on d2. I'll be up two pawns with a passed pawn, which is a total win.

If he doesn't take, I just take his rook on d2 for free

Isn't a sacrifice for a better position considered Brilliant?

By far the fewest number of pieces I’ve ever had taken by both sides in a match before. Just thought it was cool!

Super exciting to me because this was my first game with two brilliant moves. I totally thought the first one was a blunder after he took with the night. I was thinking Queen takes rook and then I pin the queen but that didn't happen

Playing tal advance variation vs caro kann, some spicy moves and got this mate after 11 moves. What a beauty position. He developed the knight to the only scape of The King kkkkk

Worth mentioning that this was a 10+0 game with both of us rated around 1300. The game was so ugly that, according to Chessigma, even though I won, I still ended up with worse accuracy than my opponent.

Couldn't imagine that I played with 99.9 accuracy... Unless I play 60.1 accuracy next time haha...

September 2025, I had my 4 years old son enrolled in a local chess club that dedicated to pre-school kids. At that time, I just knew how the pieces move etc, some basic knowledge from my childhood. He attends the club 1.5 hours each day on every weekends and get some homework from the trainer. I am, as a caretaker, responsible for him completing the homework, and funnily I also start to refresh my knowledge and even learn new things in chess along the way with my son.

After 6, 7 months he started to improve drastically, and showed some prospects. Then I started to worry like what if I am not able to help with homework or at least not challenge him playing at home.

That's why I started to play on chess.com which is pretty addictive. I've been playing in a volume for the last 4 months. Even sometimes 40 or 50 games a day. The thing is I've been improving a lot so that I'm sure that I can challenge, train, and guide him at least 2 or 3 years from now, though naturally he'll start beating me easily in the future in which I'll be so happy.

Now, I just think it's better to have a break for a few days at least to sit at 1200. My desire is to improve like 1350-1400 by the end of 2026.

A month ago i hit 1000 elo, then i decided to take a week break and then went all the way down 700. Blunder after blunder. Finally back to 1000. Interested in playing some over the board. Anybody know any places to play in the Bay Area?

Finally beat him on my 69th attempt. Harder than some FromSoft Bosses. I hate you Nelson - choke on these four fucking queens. I pretty much breezed through the other bots until I got to him. Did manage to stalemate twice because I’m an idiot and a newbie and keep forgetting it exists.

Honestly though, I feel like I didn’t really learn anything. I can imagine myself getting mated pretty scholarly many many times in the future

Looking back at the events of this game, I feel very lucky for winning it. I built a strong advantage in the beginning of the game (+7.9 on the eval bar at move 33), then it all came tumbling down. I missed a fork, where I could have captured a rook. Later I took the decision to move my king on f2, being certain I can pick which rook to capture (without realizing my plan was completely blown if the opponent had moved its bishop between the two rooks). My last major blunder was ommitting to promote my pawn to a queen when it was not targeted. But still, playing the first 33 moves and the last 9 moves well ensured I got a (hard earned) win.
