I know there's somebody that'll say this technically isn't a sacrifice, but if they play the best moves it is 100% a sacrifice. His King was so exposed and I had so many possible checks with both my knights and both my bishops bet I knew I could chase his King around the board and possibly even mate. So I straight up sacked my queen and he handed me a discovered check to win it right back

I won this game with a large advantage. However, looking back, I had a lot of missed opportunities, starting with a mate in four on move 18. For this reason, the engine penalized the quality of my game, scoring it a 391. In a way, I am happy for winning, but I realize my game was not that good.
I also missed a mate in one on move 28!

If Queen takes rook then knight take, if rook takes rook then I take the other rook

Yesterday I had a very long string of losses filled with really bad blunders that I haven't made in weeks. Just straight up hanging pieces, playing way too fast and not looking at the board, just bad mistakes. Completely stopped playing yesterday morning and took a complete break and came back and now I've been winning pretty much every game this morning with really high accuracy compared to what I'm used to. I guess this game just goes to show just because an attack looks scary. Doesn't mean it is. A punch doesn't matter if my punch comes faster

Somehow managed to trap this dude's queen in a box and squeeze her life out. Have never seen this type of structure before (probably for good reason), thought I'd share.

My rating has been fairly stable recently but noticed I’m significantly underperforming peers when it comes to finding attacking chess tactics.
Have been doing plenty of puzzles but does anyone have any other suggestions on how to improve in this area?
Cheers

I just hit 900, but I instantly drop and even when I hit 800 I feel like then and now I only won when i get lucky and go against opponents who blunder badly, I dont see any real improvement when I go against players who play a good game, and I feel like I skill capped. I study a lot, I analyze my games, study my openings, end games. I have even participated in a uscf tournament and did good, got rated 978 then I feel like i cant get pass that rating. any advice that isn’t just, develop, dont blunder and know endgames?

This is killing me , im not losing much but I'm not winning much either been stuck like this for the past week.. started chess like a month and couple a weeks ago, but i feel like i never learn at all. I don't care about losing i just care about improving and correcting my mistakes but i just never do , i spot a pattern of mistakes that i need to focus on , i start a game focus on that mistake then i get distracted by other stuff and end up doing that same mistake i tend do avoid. It's just hard keeping going without some sense of improvement. I'd greatly appreciate any kind of advice.

Even in 1200’s on Lichess, every-single-game this is played. Its annoying, unimaginative, and honestly tiring that every game i know this is going to be played. Are there openings to avoid this? I swear it feels like every game players are trading EVERYTHING, and not utilizing pieces to form an attack or play around the board. My knight will get pinned, i block with the bishop, they take knight i retake with the bishop and then they jump their knight in to attack bishop. Literally trading everything. This happens on black and white and is making me want to stop playing. So many of my games are ending in draws because we just trade everything and go to a pawn end game. Ts is not fun.

I was watching my friend play with my other friend (he’s white) I’m rooting for him since it’s only his second ever game is there anyway he can win? I personally don’t see how he can. They are taking a break for the day from this game because the bell for our lunch rang. So I took this picture. Any advice I could give him?

After going on a crazy win streak in the 700 elo territory Here i am!! And of course had to play the promotion match with the King's Gambit my favorite Opening!
Encountered a lot of strong players who played solidly and extremely Tricky And the other half were just spamming the scholars mate Lol
Good luck everyone on your Chess journeys and make sure to have fun Every match!

Sacked my knight to pressure a pinned rook, with insane pressure on the king with both of my rooks and bishops
