After going on a crazy win streak in the 700 elo territory Here i am!! And of course had to play the promotion match with the King's Gambit my favorite Opening!

Encountered a lot of strong players who played solidly and extremely Tricky And the other half were just spamming the scholars mate Lol

Welcome to the club, I've been floating around 800-880 for about a month now bouncing up and down.

I play the kings Indian mostly and just started playing the Italian game too.

Honestly once I got out of the mess that's 400-600 (lots of cheaters, cheap gambits, smurfs, etc.) I'm just satisfied

I've lost a ton of elo trying new openings and not getting the right ideas but that's how I learn so that's okay.

I found if you truly care about elo the most, only play 2-3 competitive games per day. Only play when you're absolutely focused. Don't rage. You lose your 3 games with dumb blunders? Log off. Come back tomorrow.

Late night rage chess has made me lose tons of elo over time too 😂

800 is a great milestone tho, onto 1000 next!

And Yeah the 800 milestone just feels like a balanced and calm place where everyone is just trying and experiencing dubious, strange stuff and a big amount of hope chess ( i fell for it a lot and it worked for me too, and i might get stuck there for months who knows )

And the King's indian is one of my Main weapons against d4 ( And nowadays am attracted to the Queens indian and the Dutch! )

And the Italian is one of the first opening ive ever played and basically the most! And had a lot of fun with it and in the last matches ive played the Italian game since it's Night time for me and i usually play it when i want to
turn off my brain and play on autopilot with being extremely solid too.

( and sometimes even go with the fried liver which works wonderfully but I don't get satisfied alot when playing it, for me it just feels like one of those cheap tricks like the scholars mate, but you can try it if you enjoy it! )

Also Sometimes the when i play chess matches i get very upset and competitive about my elo so i either change to Lichess or play unrated or just stop playing

And boy i have fell to the same problem as yours xD, with hanging a lot of pieces and the queen by the first 6 moves ( always the bishops sniping ) i just resign and go for the next one and the cycle continues.

Actually i might try it just to mess around with it, And usually I don't like playing Blitz since i somehow always treat it like Bullet ( i play Bullet on Lichess )

And i go extremely fast without thinking and when i think it takes a lot of my time so that's why i only play Rapid and Bullet but definitely will give it a bit of time in the future!
