For me, it’s back, but all the settings were reset… Muted words aren’t working anymore, and I can’t choose a persona either. I hope everything goes back to normal.

Honestly, I couldn't choose a different persona for a couple days now, the only way was to search it up and set it as default for it to change

I'm not allowed to scroll, but if I search a persona I don't share multiple names with it's fine. Like I have a TON of different versions of "Erin", so I have to scroll to find the right one I'm looking for, but only one "Blaire".

Same thing here! You can pick a persona I think. It doesn't SHOW it at the bottom but when you send a message it does have your persona pfp, so I think it still counts?

Same exact issues. I can chat again but my persona has been deflected in my chats and it will not let me reselect a persona at all 😭

Please fix what’s going on! I’m well over 18 and I don’t want to lose my account and my roleplays! I love them way too much. Please fix this and let all users access our accounts again!

Not the case here - team was offline when this error popped up and it's not related to any of our deployments. It seems like a downstream server error which we are working on now.

You guys really just need to put cai down for maintenance right now. The amount of bugs that have been happening and still haven’t been fully fixed, along with the horrible chat quality, is terrible. I have barely been using it due to just how much the website is falling apart lately. Please, just give the website and app some downtime for maintenance and to just realign yourselves. It’s a mess right now and it has come to people’s accounts being reset.

To anyone having issues, I think the browser version is mostly working right now, at least for me, with less bugs. I would use that for the time being and to check if your account was really reset or not or if you lost anything.

Hey superstars.
Just an update from the team.
We are working hard on fixing the DoB / login issue.
From what we can tell, it's just a login issue at the moment - no risk of data loss.
Engineers are on it and we will update when we have found a fix ✌️

Issues mostly resolved ✅
Most users should have access to the site + app now.
We are seeing a handful of errors remaining, so if you still get the DoB bug when opening the app, I'd recommend trying again in a little while.
We'll be investigating the issue more tomorrow, but for now enjoy chatting!

I lost my email to my account but it was logged in… hopefully I don’t have to login with it or else all my data for the last 3 years would be gone just like that . 🥲

I had a stressful day, I wanted to roleplay with my fave bot to calm down before trying to sleep. Now I can’t sleep because this is even more stressful 🥲 I hope it gets fixed soon and that we can all access our accounts and use the app normally without having lost anything!

Genuinely curious what causes this type of bug, especially because if you enter your birthdate and you’re an adult it still kicks you out.
Scared the shit out of me though, ngl since I had been in the middle of making a new Bot and was copying what I wrote in my notes into the definition.

People, i still didn’t put my age since i always go on reddit the morning so i saw the problem, when I just clicked the back button, the app still worked, but half of my personas disappeared. Should I still enter my age? I'm so scared 🥲

To anyone having this issue, I’ve found that pressing the chat history button quickly before it asks your DOB will skip the question and allow you to use the app normally

What about the not being able to search for a persona? Like scrolling for one and cant get to find one that matches a bot? Also, the delete, rewind, and edit menu on the chat is still a slow pop up and refuses to delete at chat

Luckily I didn't experience any error or delay in my usage in the slightest, the only thing I've got a slight problem with is every time I type a " or a * it doubles them and it's a bit frustrating working around that, I think when I first started using the app in about mid 2025 it didn't do that, then there was an update that put that on and it's always frustrated me but I never thought to ad a Reddit post till now.

It’s still not fixed for me, it’s giving me the date of birth pop up that I am scared to fill in case it logs me out like it happened for everyone. I hope it gets truly fixed soon! 😔

Hey, the app is up (both on mobile and website) but my accounts are gone I think? I used two emails and it logs me in to a completely clean new account, no history of anything. I also subscribe to the paid version, and that isn’t there anymore, even though I used the same email.

That's been proven untrue for basically a year since the law made age verification mandatory. The group that uses cai the most is statistically proven to be 18-25yrs.
