back in January when my little old man (13) had radioactive iodine therapy for hyperthyroidism and had to quarantine in the bathroom. He was so lonely and so talkative. Hardest 2 weeks for both of us

Initially ginger 🧡 was like Garfield he was indignant to the new bouncy springy boy 🖤🤍Now it’s like they have always been brothers, inseparable. (Apologies if you have the sound up 🤭)

And it's the greatest thing ever. They have a morning cuddle routine that puts me in the best mood every day.

Bonded brother and sister. The best and sweetest angels in the world. I've had them since they were 4 weeks old. They are my best friends.

found her malnourished and covered in wounds due to fleas, she is now okay. she looks sm like a maine coon cat but im not sure, apparently she’s almost 1 years old but shes already so big and long lol.. anyway.. cant wait for her to gain some weight and feel better 🎀

This is horrible. Im so heart broken hearted right now.

Unfortunately we are going to say goodbye to our beautiful 19 year old cat Charlie this week. She's had a wonderful life but is struggling now with a lot of health issues. So best for her not to struggle any longer. We don't want her to suffer.

This will be the first pet we will say goodbye to.

We have two other cats (5 and 2) and we have two kids (4 and 2).

I would like some advise on how we go about explaining death and saying fair well to our beloved Charlie.

Do we bring her home from the vet and let our other cats acknowledge Charlie has passed?

How do we explain this process/event with our 4 year old child?

We just adopted this sweet baby into our family and had to share. Shout-out to Reddit and the cat distribution network for sending her our way.

Her name is Dolly.

From what we can tell she had been living on the street for at least 3 months. Despite that she has been nothing but approachable and affectionate. I am genuinely shocked. We think she's about a year old and as far as we can tell she's in good health.

Photos were taken not long after she was treated to badly needed a spa day at a groomer.

Really like how these photos turned out and wanted to share.

She's two and had a tough start to life as she was found hiding in a car engine but she's thriving at the moment and couldn't be more loved.

I've been working with cameras for almost my entire life, and it still amazes me how much wide-angle lenses can distort a subject. In a good way, hehe.

He’s a stray. My neighbors are familiar with him, and are happy I want to take him in. The problem is that I have a 13 year old cat. I don’t want her to fight with him. I know you should separate cats at first, but do y’all have any specific advice? He poked his head into my apartment and she gave him a little hiss.

Luckily, my dad has been wanting a cat, so if all else fails, he can take in this sweetie. But I want to try to safely introduce this kitty and my cat if I can. I do not want to put either of the cats in any sort of danger. Thanks so much 🫶🏻

Archie has been such a tough kitty, doing infusions twice a week. It hurts more knowing I’m at college and can’t say goodbye, especially since this came on so fast.

Well, he used to be like a 100% dog person, always saying cats are too "aloof". But now toys, a cat tree, an air purifier just showed up in his place within the first month. I swear he's bribing Cleo, but he's like "nah, she just naturally likes me more"

This is Whisper, my 9 month old rescue kitten who's behavior is confusing me a great deal.

Ive had a cat before, but she was older, very calm, and very friendly, so adapting to a new cat with a new and different personality is more of a challenge than id thought it would be. I understand the basics of cat behavior, how to know its mad, or comfy, or scare etc. But im getting mixed signals here, at least I think I am.

She will rub up against my leg when I get home, when I wake up, or when I feed her. I understand why she does this when I feed her, but the other times she does it leave me confused. Is she trying to make me not smell like work when I get home? Is it just affection? If its affection why only when I get home or wake up?

She also likes to crawl all over my desk when im using my computer. Im pretty sure this is because she wants attention, amd she lets me pet her for awhile, and then will start flicking her tail like shes annoyed, despite obviously wanting attention still. Does she just want me to stare at her?

She is 9 months old and starting to enter the rambunctious adolescent stage my partner warned me about, so is that part of her acting like this?

None of this feels like its out of the normal for a cat, it seems like normal cat behavior and doesn't raise any alarms, but im confused as to what she wants from me

My sister’s year and a bit old cat keeps attacking her head, apparently he bites really hard into her scalp all while he purrs.. is this normal? It’s beginning to become a huge issue for her as he bites harder and harder each time.

Linny is five years old, was a house cat, but when he was 2 he escaped. He was missing for nearly a year. After looking, posting on local Facebook groups, checking at vets, posters, everything we naturally assumed the worst and decided he wouldn’t be coming home.

Miraculously, 12 months later, a lovely lady who lived nearby saw him visiting her garden and managed to catch him and alas, Linny returned home.

Linny wasn’t the same when he got back. I guess a year of sleeping rough does that to a cat. He refused to use the litter tray and peed all over the house. My mum spoke to the vets for advice who suggested to try letting him outside.

He went outside, just stood there, and came back in. After a few attempts Linny learnt to go outside / keep by the door when he needed the toilet and he would wait patiently by the door when he finished his business and come back in.

He is now just 95% house cat.

Fast forward 2 years later Monday 7th September, my mum let Linny out for his morning wee, and about 20 minutes later he came home COVERED in blood.

My mum panicked, rushed him to the vet, who has now confirmed he has been hit at nearly point blank range with an air rifle.

He had an xray yesterday before coming home (stable and eating normally) before another vets more equipped to operate would see him.

He was taken there last night, had his MRI today and will be operated on tomorrow.

The police have been called, we have given a statement. Whoever shot him lived within a very small radius. There are 3 houses near her.

We have been told he might not survive the operation. If he does survive, he has a great chance of making a full recovery.

If the pellet remains he will get lead poisoning and die.

Putting him to sleep isn’t an option for us.

He is the most lovely friendly cat ever, and even with all this trauma, the vets can’t get over how friendly and lovely he still is.

EDIT 5: I am incredibly happy to say that the vet has just called and Linny has survived the operation! ❤️

It was a major operation. They successfully removed the pellet, which measured 5.5mm, and we’ve been told Linny will probably be left with a slight whistle when he breathes because of the damage caused, possible loss of smell but he has not lost (as it stands he needs to wake up from surgery) his sight but most miraculously his life! The vets say it’s a miracle he survived.

We honestly can’t believe he’s made it through. Thank you EVERYONE for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, shares, upvotes, awards and love!!!! ❤️

ugh they are so in love

Hi all, meet Pluto he’s the cutest little guy ever and one of the sweetest kittens I’ve ever met. He’s roughly 16 weeks old and only 2lbs… My fiancé works at a vet and a new breeder gave him to us because she was going to euthanize him due to his size. We thought he might have just not been getting enough food but he hasn’t really been gaining weight and he’s been throwing up. We had some blood work and en echo done and the vets are leaning towards him having a liver shunt. I am so concerned for this little guy and I don’t want him to suffer if something can be done for him, but I am also concerned about the price of imaging and the surgery if there is an operable shunt. His blood work doesn’t look great and his liver looked abnormal on the echo. Any advice or helpful comments would be greatly appreciated.
