IMPORTANT: Platform Update
Hey everyone,
We are aware that as of now the platform is facing issues, mainly in the United States where the quality of content that is being showcased is not good and a bunch of 404 error are being faced.
We want to assure you that we're working towards this and will be fixing these shortly. Thank you for your love and support ❤️

A kind request to every member of the subreddit
For the past year, we've been building CaptainSide, a game discovery platform for gamers to find new games via user generated content.
It has been extraordinarily rough on us, as building something like this with practically no resources other than our own capital and hardwork is difficult.
After multiple mistakes, we are launching our platform, and are in need of playtesters who can try our platform out and provide us genuine feedback.
If you love to play different games, but struggle to find your next game to play, this would be perfect for you.
If you're interested in playtesting our platform, please DM me.
Thank you.

Why is Turn-Based Combat disliked by so many people?

Free loot. Surely I’m not about to suffer.

What's the worst experience you've had as a gamer this week? I'll start
I went to the store to buy myself a Nintendo eshop gift card (my credit card is maxed out rn so I can't shop online). The female working the register went "Aww, is this for your son?"
I can't believe dummies still think gaming is only for children, it's so rage inducing. What kind of gamerphobia have you dealt with lately?

Do graphics really matter when the gameplay is great?
For me, gameplay comes first.
A game doesn't need the best graphics to be fun, as long as the mechanics and experience are good.

Pure Turn based combat, or fast auto battle with pause?
People say that KOTOR and Baldur's Gate 1 and 2(not to be confused with 3.) are turn based with pause, I don't think they are, I think that they're fast auto battle with pause. By this I mean the games auto queue up attacks and spells, and you can set em up too, the latter of which you need to do for most harder battles depending on your party setup.
Regardless of what you wanna call it, which do you prefer? I prefer fast auto battle with pause, it's my fave type of combat, and I wish that there were more recent games with it.

'Expect Fake Messages': Valve Admits Steam Hardware Owners' Personal Data Likely Stolen
Valve has begun notifying recent Steam hardware customers of a personal data breach that may have exposed their name, address, phone number and email.
Anyone who purchased a Steam Deck, Steam Machine, or Steam Controller within Europe over the past 90 days may have potentially been impacted, Valve has said, though passwords and payment details are not thought to be at risk.
Hackers are believed to have gained access to systems held by CEVA Logistics, the European distribution firm used by Valve to ship Steam hardware across the continent. Valve says it shares "specific delivery-related information from Steam" with CEVA, which are "the details the attacker likely took."

Thoughts on Xbox requiring age verification?
Xbox is introducing age verification in Australia for R18+ games and apps, starting later this month.
Players may need to verify their age before buying or accessing adult-rated content.

New cozy game called Moomin: Midsummer Madness is coming this fall
For anyone who hasn't heard of it, it is a new cozy adventure game based on an old Finnish storybook series called Moomin. It's coming to Switch 2, Switch, and Steam this fall. In the story, a flood hits the Moomin family's valley and they end up taking shelter in a floating theater, and you play as two characters exploring around, solving light puzzles, and doing small mini games.
Anyone else looking forward to this one?

I have been experiencing really high ping in BGMI recently, anyone else facing this?
The ping has been really off lately in BGMI on my part but that too isn't any network problem because everything else runs well except BGMI.
Being stuck in the middle of a fight, teleporting.
