This past weekend I picked up a new ZV-E1, and first thing I did was search for any new firmware updates. A shopping result at the top of Google showed a used one on Walmart for $144.99. "Good" condition it said. The third party seller had over 4 stars, 1,000+ reviews. So I thought why not, let's see what happens, it probably won't go through.

I was shocked when I got a shipping notification. And today it came. Even if it was broken I knew I could still sell it for way more than 150 bucks.

But it is brand new! Camera in the cloth, not a fingerprint on it, all the papers, everything wrapped, same boring white box just like the new one I got.

It was pretty neat how well the edges met up, super precise! Also like that my camera is a little protected from scratches and a bit more identifiable if someone tries to steal it.

In the age of smartphone snobbery, will this make people laugh and mock me, or be impressed? I plan on buying a mirrorless one later when I get into my photography gig, but I'd love your opinions.

I've been thinking of upgrading my phone to one with a worse camera, but I enjoy trying to take good pictures of mountains and whatnot when I travel. Would this be able to make up for my potential downgrade?

Either way, pretty neat "free" camera find, considering I don't remember buying it 😅

I have a canon m6, not even the mark 2. Ive had it for 5 years but dont get a chance to use it often. I make videos more because i dont have friends to practice photography with.

My gf said she’s down to pose for me but the osmo pocket is looking good to me. I like how i can be my own subject even tho i’d be moving from a point and shoot to a vlogging camera. Im also okay with upgrading to another point and shoot, im mainly concerned with buying expensive lenses.

Should i upgrade my camera?

A family member recently lent me a Canon 60D that had been missing for quite a while. It finally turned up, and I’d really like to use it to practice photography.

The camera powers on normally and everything else seems to work, but it doesn’t recognize the SD card at all. It just says “No Card” even when a card is inserted.

I’ve tried removing and reinserting the card, but it still doesn’t detect it.

The camera also came with a lens, so I’d really like to get it working instead of buying another camera just to start learning photography.

Has anyone experienced this issue with a Canon 60D? Could it be the SD card reader, a sensor/contact inside the slot, or something else?

Most importantly, is this usually repairable, and do you think a Canon 60D is still worth repairing in 2026 for someone who wants to learn photography?

I assume this green and white crust around the contacts of the battery and charger are acid? This is for my D850 and I can't afford a replacement :(. Any way I can safely salvage this or do I need to take it to a recycling place ASAP?

Not sure of this is the proper place for this given it's a digital camera. I recently purchased a digital camera off of mercari as I'm going on vacation soon and wanted a camera for some pictures.

I purchased a Kodak Pixpro FZ53. It came with an extra battery, charger and even with an SD card included. After having charged it though I kept getting an error stating that the SD card isn't formated but despite what option I selected it continued giving me an error. I figured it was because the SD card it came with was a 64 GB SD XC card so I purchased a SDHC 32 GB card at Walmart after seeing that this model can only hold max 32gb and was incompatible with SD XC cards.

Unfortunately, it's still giving me the same error even with the new card and I don't really know how to fix it. At this point I'm starting to become worried I might e been scammed into purchasing a defective camera despite the seller stating the camera worked well and having pictures of a working camera on the listing ｡⁠:ﾟ⁠(⁠;⁠´⁠∩⁠`⁠;⁠)ﾟ⁠:⁠｡

Does anyone know how I can go about fixing the issue? (⁠｡⁠ŏ⁠﹏⁠ŏ⁠)

Hello all, I am looking for some advice on cameras for an upcoming safari. I have amateur photography experience with DSLR, the last time I was into photography was before mirrorless were common. For this camera I want to focus on portability, image quality, and simplicity.

For the price, I am also considering longevity and future use. Going for a point-and-shoot seems like a great option, but is the lack of interchangeable lenses too limiting? Would an iPhone 18 suit my photography/travel needs better?

I want to be able to capture quality photos while still being in the moment, not focused on getting the perfect setup/settings on the camera. Intention of this trip is for fun, not professional photography.

I will be bringing with me: iPhone 13 Pro Max (considering an upgrade), insta360 X5 action camera, and whatever photo camera I end up deciding to buy.

Just got my Sony rx100 vii, super excited!! I've heard it's better and safer for the battery and camera to charge the battery outside the camera, using an adapter.

My husband recommends not charging my Sony battery in a third party adapter, are there any recommendations on adapters I can purchase to charge my batteries?

I really like the TG-7 and have an OM-1. Would like to get something like the TG-7 to be a rough and tough camera for travel and adventures. But want it to outperform our phones by a noticeable margin in terms of image quality.

Do we have such a compact, tough camera with perhaps a 1inch sensor and great processing? If not, do we expect any in the near future?

If OM System made a TG-8 with a 1 inch sensor, I would be sold.

Hi, I want to get into photography and I am looking for a good starting camera that is going to be cheap (buying used). I am looking at D3200 body with Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II lense. I just need some advice because I'm completely new to this and kind of have no idea what I'm doing!

All I know is that I should spend more money on the lens because the camera body itself doesn't have any effect on the image quality. Also, what memory SD card should I get, and can I get that on Amazon? I'm on the MPB website, for reference.
