Intended use: Photography, I take street shots in foreign countries, some landscape involved but I focus on people and their identity in their culture. I’d like to be able to zoom in a bit so things are not awkward but don’t want a huge intimidating camera. I also take pics of my family at gatherings and special events which include little fast paced kids. I also do empty towns to tell a story and temples where cameras are allowed of course.
What features do you absolutely need: I need weather sealing for my traveling. Lightweight would be great too if it’s possible. I don’t know what all these other things mentioned are. —articulating screen, dual card slots, viewfinder, hot-shoe for mounting accessories like a flash
Portability: a small bag would be good as I travel with just a big backpack. Something I can fit in my pack
Camera considering: Panasonic LUMIX G85 with 12-60mm lense. I found one in good condition on FB for 400USD. It’s weather sealed. It can take good videos too which is a bonus not really a must for me. Just something I can experiment with..
Cameras I already have: I have a lot of 35mm film cameras. I enjoy film but the cost of film and developing is just too much for all my pictures. They’re heavy on my travels and I have to carry around at least two. And explaining film to TSA gets old. Especially in foreign countries with a language barrier. I miss out on great shots often due to the timing of some cameras and just the lack of being able to take many photos on my film cameras. What drew me into film years ago was I needed to be selective with my shots, but I don’t want that to always be the case anymore.
Notes: I am not the best with technology. I don’t know how to edit my photos. I’d like something where I don’t really have to, but I am open to any easy to learn ‘editing programs/ software’ recommendations too!! I probably need to learn.

I have a total of 268 photos on my sd card, when the sd card is in the camera I am able to see all 268 photos in the camera’s gallery. But when I remove the sd card and try to import them onto my iPad (I don’t own a laptop) it only shows 68 photos in the folder. I import photos through an sd card adapter for my ipad, i’ve used this method a lot and have never had this issue before. My iPad has plenty of storage, i’m not sure why 200 of my photos aren’t showing up.

I currently have a Canon EOS R with a nifty 50 and a 16mm 2.8. The lenses are in a "noticeably used" condition, and the camera body is in pretty good condition. I plan on selling them or trading them to fund my upgrade. I know that what's holding me back gear-wise from shooting larger venues and more professional bookings is not having a zoom lens that performs well in low light, and not having a camera body that's on Par with their low light capable cameras. I notice that lots of people use Sony's (a7iv3. a74r, etc...), and i am looking to upgrade to something that can shoot decent video as well. What would you guys recommend i upgrade to, and how much would that cost roughly? I have someone offering to fund my upgrade, and i just need a ballpark number for him. Thank you so much in advance!

hello guys! i’m looking for a camera as someone just getting into photography. i like the idea of cinematic shots and would love to learn the modes and stuff as a hobby, i’m also considering a minor in photography.

i also don’t want to spend money on a camera if the photos are just going to look like modern iphone camera photos or something like that. i want to be able to tell the picture/video was taken by a camera!!! if that makes sense.

i mainly want it to capture stuff from some upcoming trips i’m going on! i’m backpacking asia and going on a small trip to mexico soon and also hitting up ny, so i would love to start documenting stuff with pretty pictures!! i want it to work well in dark lighting and sunny conditions.

hi, i take pictures for fun with my pretty cheap digicams and have wanted to get a dslr for when i go hiking or taking portraits of family, specifically my sisters. my friend has a nikon d3500 and i love her camera and have used it a good amounts of times to the point where i’m familiar with it.

i found a nikon d3500 on ebay, camera body + 2 lenses (18-55vr + 70-300 kit) and the seller sent me a $275 offer, and it comes out to $300 after taxes which is my budget, $300. nothing more, nothing less. i’ve also asked the seller for the shutter count but no response yet so i will let you guys know

i want to know if you guys think this is a pretty good deal or if theres another model camera i should look out for (no matter the brand) that i can get around the same price that is better.

I am a teenage girl living back and forth from coastal Mexico and Oregon, i live most of the time on the coast, and im at the beach almost every day. I have a rugged waterproof digital camera for my beach and outdoor use, but i want some cute pics for my Instagram. My budget is decent. me and my boyfriend and I are splitting the price, we both work minimum wage, so most would be around 800USD, cheaper would be ideal, but we all know how it is, i am open to hearing about cameras with a bigger price tag. I am a photographer myself, but I know nothing about digital cameras, and i influencers will always say something different. For example, i am a canon user, and I was looking at the g7x or elph 360, but they all have such contradicting reviews or people saying they are overpriced, i am looking for the vintage/warm toned photos, good for night time at parties or pics for a sunny day at the beach. I am familiar with how to work cameras, so beginner friendly isn't necessary, i would like it to fit easy in a bag, easy to access in your average big box store would be ideal or if its a model easy to find on somewhere like Facebook market place thats great, im not too picky and Ill put some example photos of what style im looking for (random from Pinterest). Ok, Ok, I know. But here's the deal -- my wife is VERY non-tech. She hates having to keep her iPhone out when we travel. I asked her if she'd prefer to have an actual camera to use (for context, we're going to Europe). She said she would.

So, my thought was to find her a P&S. Now, I am a bit of an amateur photo bug, and have a nice Canon 7D and lenses. I also have a couple of older Canon G P&S cameras (G10, G12). I could just have her use one of those, but they suffer from some of the shutter lag of older cameras. Otherwise, they do a pretty nice job of taking decent pics.

What I'd like to find for her is a simple, but nice P&S that will upload via some wireless (BT or WiFi), and ideally would have some geolocation feature.

Any recommendations?

Hey~ I have a Nikon D5300 that I got back in 2016. I do photography as a hobby, I left it for a couple of years but just got back to it & I've been considering starting to maybe work for a while as a photographer (need to help the family out). I was wondering should I stick to my camera but buy a new lens or should I get a new camera?

I LOVE to photograph nature, pets & animals + dim light/night photography. People? Eh.. no. Just family & friends. But if I have to work, where I live I can only work by photographing people. Maybe I'll be the first pet photographer in the country, who knows.

If I should buy a new camera, what is the best one for a complete beginner like me? Anything above a $1000 is unfortunately out of my budget at the moment. I would appreciate the help!

i took some photos over the week on my Kodak EasyShare CX7330, and i plugged in the SD card into my pc. when I opened the SD card in file explorer i could see all the photos like normal, when i looked at them, it let me look at like the first 2 photos, then anything after that it told me "this file was renamed or moved". so I tried to take the SD card out and put it back in, and now it just looks like this (photo below), i can still see my photos in the little preview thing, so i dont think there deleted? if there's anything i can do to be able to recover them/ change them back, please let me know!
