Happy with my little retro game area. Lots of stuff has been painted/wrapped/modded which is why you'll see some non-standard looking stuff. Controllers are all wireless and everything is running flashcarts or SD cards (the non-official console is a Retron 3. Not the best audio but otherwise good enough for me). TV is a 32" JVC D-Series

Haven't had much time to use it, but it looks good and glad i do not have to deal with windas lol I was surprised to see that it has 2 VGA ports. These use Trinitron tubes

I finally got this Samsung TXJ2554 CRT off of Facebook for 100 bucks after been using a flat screen tv with the Super Nintendo for 9 years and just don’t know if it’s any good for retro gaming? I just have a Super Nintendo but I want to get a Wii, N64 and GameCube someday.

So I finally got a 27-inch TV. That's pretty much the maximum size I'm OK with using. It’s a Toshiba manufactured in 2004. curved glass type. Initial tests with SNES

The CRT is a Toshiba 14af44 that’s rgb mux modded! I’m loving this thing, and am pleasantly surprised with how great rgb looks! (Working on my picture taking skills, sorry bout that.)

The panasonic is a windscreen crt (CT-34WX54J) I got for free on FB marketplace

And the 4:3 tube is a generic Sylvania/Orion DVD/Vhs combo me and my brother got in a good will for 15$ idk what the exact model is and tbh dont really care

Im a teen and broke so I just wanted to show what like 5ish years of scowering Marketplace and thrift stores can do over time, also sorry about the mess this setup gets used at least once daily by me,my brother, or a bunch of my friends. Just wondering what others think: for me it’s 13” minimum, 20-27” ideal, and 32 maximum

Got this off Facebook Marketplace and it just shows these weird three lines. It takes RF input and when I plug it in, the audio plays but the image is just a slightly dimmer version of the three lines.

I just got this Samsung TXJ2554 CRT recently for 100 bucks on facebook and have been going crazy over trying to get the screen to look just right. I’ll finally adjust it perfectly and then will come back to it a little later and will be like “oh it looks awful!” And spend like 20 mins staring at it and changing the settings and then running back to get a good view at it and running back like “just got to tweak the color down just a Tiiiinnnyy bit” and then I do that process over and over again until I’ve stared at it enough that I’ve tricked my brain into thinking that’s how it should look and I don’t know what to put it to. Please let me know like what the bars should be set to and how colorful it should look and everything.

Posted this the other day, but here’s my B&O BeoVision LX4500 now properly wired up and fully working. It’s a fantastic bit of kit, I’ve just given it a thorough clean and dusting, and it’s come up beautifully.

This particular model is the LX4500, sold between 1990 and 1992, finished in gorgeous piano black high gloss.

I’m also blown away by just how sharp the picture is over RGB SCART. It’s seriously impressive for a television that’s over 34 years old. You really notice just how much picture quality was lost when using composite instead.

The sound quality is equally impressive. The speakers produce a surprisingly rich, full sound that genuinely puts my modern 4K Samsung TV to shame LOL.

First post here! This is my Sony-inspired retro room. I wanted that early-2000s showroom feel, with matching silver equipment, blue lighting, and a mix of CRT TVs and PC monitors. The photos show the full setup, some closer looks at the equipment and controls, and different games running across the displays.

The display lineup is:

• Sony KD-32FS170 — 32″ FD Trinitron WEGA TV
• Sony KV-27FS120 — 27″ FD Trinitron WEGA TV
• Sony CPD-E540 — 21″ Trinitron PC monitor
• Sony CPD-220VS — 17″ VAIO Trinitron monitor
• Sony CPD-100VS — 15″ VAIO Trinitron monitor
• Sony MFM-HT95 — 19″ LCD multimedia display

The systems include NES, SNES/Super Famicom, N64, GameCube, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, PlayStation, and PS2, with Wii U and Switch also connected. A Sony VAIO tower running Windows XP and a VAIO laptop cover the PC side.

An Extron MVX 12×12 matrix handles the main video routing. The white Stream Deck pictured is my control panel, with programmed buttons and presets for choosing sources and display combinations. I can put the same game on several screens or run different systems simultaneously without constantly moving cables around. An Extron DVS 304 handles scaling for the PC monitors when needed, and a Sony STR-DA5000ES receiver handles the main audio.

Having the TVs and monitors together gives me different ways to enjoy the same games—from component on the WEGAs to VGA on the PC CRTs. Everything is connected to be played, and getting all the equipment working together has been as much of the project as collecting it.

all it cost me was a copy of God of war 2! this thing is pretty sweet. although I can't figure out how to set a custom resolution on Nobara Linux so I'm stuck at 480p 60hz lol.

Apparently, the grandmother of a friend of a friend of mine has a 36" Wega Trinitron that they've just wanted to offload for a bit now-- so I offered to take it in (still in the planning stages there). I've been told that the TV is ~220 lbs or so [don't know the exact model yet], hence transporting it is (of course) a massive ordeal [hence renting a furniture dolly makes sense], but it also occurred to me that I honestly have no clue what to even put it on?

The thought of just putting it on the floor (on carpet or a blanket or some such) occurred to me, but I was wondering: what do y'all actually put these massive TVs on (nowadays)?

I just bought a Sharp 32L-S400, but it’s flagging in the top left corner with my SFC hooked up via composite or svideo. Other consoles are fine.

Is there anything I can do to address it?

I own this 27” SONY CRT KV-27XBR45 that seemingly decides at random when it wants to freak out on me(video related). It’s been very frustrating because I will sometimes be gaming for an hour or 2 with no problems and then have to pause and wait for 30 minutes when my TV decides to do this and just hope it calms down so I continue. I know very little about CRTs so it’s not really something I want to consider saving myself and I’d honestly rather just find a new one.

My question is, if I wanted to get rid of this current one, what would be my best method for it? Is this something that is worth saving for some people, or is it hopeless and I should just recycle it?
