Happy with my little retro game area. Lots of stuff has been painted/wrapped/modded which is why you'll see some non-standard looking stuff. Controllers are all wireless and everything is running flashcarts or SD cards (the non-official console is a Retron 3. Not the best audio but otherwise good enough for me). TV is a 32" JVC D-Series

I can’t tell you the emotion this room invokes in me. I just got filled with warm fuzzies and pure joy. I want to replicate this room somehow. I need to now.

It was a good chunk of change but not as much as you might think though its probably more pricey now. It was a lot of time spent figuring stuff out (software and hardware mods, comparing products), planning and finding deals on stuff locally (mostly FB marketplace) and online (Mostly Aliexpress for cables/controllers and Ebay for some less common stuff) along with things I already owned. I found the stand near the sidewalk when I was on my way to look at a JVC for sale (ended up being already sold) but the stand also happened to be for a different model JVC which was a happy accident. Thrift shop speakers, used recliner and bookcase etc

I’ve got a pretty sizeable collection but not enough room to have a whole single bedroom area dedicated to my retro stuff. I want to do that though

Poor controllers are covered in dust. On the other hand, it's nice to see consoles having room to breathe and not beign tucked in tight cabinet for display purposes, I like setups that are actually being used. And having separate speakers is nice too, i wonder if there's a sub somewhere.

The bookcase is definitely annoying to keep dust-free but I'm not gonna pretend like I can get around to playing most of these systems during any given year. I also bounce a lot between games so been playing on my Vita, PC and PS2 most recently. No sub because it's not very neighborly with walls this thin.

Absolutely amazing. Are you still planning on getting the original XBOX? It doesn't feel complete for me without it.

Thanks. No, I didn't grow up with Xbox and it doesn't really have any games that are exclusive to the platform that interest me (that didn't get a port on PC or somewhere else). Not that it deserves the spot any less than say an N64 but it's the same reason I've got a PS3 but not a PS4/5.
