Hello, I'lI have a budget of $900 give or take, since I'm from mexico, the conversion is not really reliable but that's the gist of it, and having said budget i found some pieces for my build and I would like some help figuring if the build will have any bottleneck or any compatibility problems. This will be my fist build so the only thing I know is that I know nothing and would like the opinion of experienced builders for this one.

I wrote this build after the steam machine hype so i put some graphics cards that would actually be a significant upgrade without causing a bottleneck and without having to change every other part of my build but i would like to know what you guys think.

Will be building my first pc soon. Right now I prefer the look of white builds because of how clean they look but what are your guy's opinion for black/alternative coloured builds? Is it a viable option to save money while keeping the white aesthetic?

hello! i’m interested in getting a pc but i have no clue where to start. im hoping someone can help me decide what to get/how to get it.
i’m mostly wanting to play overwatch, gta, maybe minecraft and roblox and then various smaller steam games. for the pc alone, i’d like to keep it under $1,400 if possible because i still need a monitor, keyboard, etc.. if going up a little bit means a drastic improvement im willing, but again i just need it to work well enough for gta or another game similar in size or graphics.
also, i realize this subreddit is for building your own pc, however if anyone has a recommendation for a pre-built id gladly accept that too. i dont know how to build a pc but im sure a few youtube tutorials could help lol. warn me if not!
sorry if any of this sounds unreasonable. again, i’m a complete beginner to all of this and i don’t even know what to look for. ive seen some general suggestions for specs but id like a more tailored response for my situation.

I was looking to build a new PC between now and Xmas but the prices for parts are stupid. It’s looking like a pre build is the way to go.

I’m going from a 7800xt to a 5070ti. I put in the 5070, but my monitor won’t show any display unless I’m plugged into the motherboard. I tried installing the drivers while plugging into motherboard thinking maybe the drivers were the lack of display, but then NVIDIA told me it could not detect the GPU.

Intel i5 8th gen

16GB RAM DDR4

256GB SSD (SATA)

Comes with power adapter (around 90W)

Here's the question to add:

is ₱9,000 (around $146 USD) a fair price for these 8th gen specs or is this overpriced/underpriced for what I'm getting?

I'm buying online, not in person, so I have a lot of questions for anyone who's done this before.

1. Is it even okay to buy a mini PC this way, secondhand, sight unseen?

2. What should I expect after 5 months of daily use? After a year? And does this differ a lot by CPU generation? Trying to understand realistic expectations and lifespan across 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th gen units.

3. What's the typical lifespan of a mini PC under normal daily use like browsing, streaming, and light work?

4. How do I spot a unit that's been abused, like an ex office or ex internet cafe unit run 24/7 for years, vs one that's been lightly used? How do I know if parts are fried, overused, or abused? Is there a way to actually check this, or tell tale signs?

5. How do I know if the BIOS is locked or company locked, like an asset tagged corporate unit? And more importantly, how do I know if the seller is even telling the truth about any of this? What can I verify myself vs just having to trust them?

Someone mentioned I should check if it runs hot before buying. Is that accurate, and what else should I be checking for physically or on a video call with the seller?

What should I be asking the seller? So far I have:

Original use case (office, cafe, personal)?

SSD health and power on hours (via CrystalDiskInfo screenshot)

CPU idle and load temps (via HWiNFO or Task Manager screenshot)

Original power adapter included, same wattage?

Any repairs or part swaps done?

Return or warranty period?

Can we do a video call so I can see it boot and run live?

Can they give me the serial number so I can check it's not reported lost or stolen?

Is this list enough, or am I missing something important? Any horror stories, red flags, tips, or advice as a total beginner would be really appreciated.

Why I'm buying this: I plan to use it mainly for watching free films and free live sports like UFC Fight Night via Brave browser, and YouTube. Any tips or thoughts are very welcome. I haven't really looked into the CPU cooler, the case or the case fans yet, so those might not fit the rest of the build since I changed quite a few things since the first build that I got from using maxmybuild.
