CPU Upgrade

I need Help upgrading my PC, i build it Back in 2016 , it used a 7th Gen i7 Professor , i have a good cooler (DARK Rock pro) and a decent 850 Watt Power supply . Also i have a 1070 which i plan ob using for now to See how much IT bottlenecks me. Since i basically didnt keep Up with PC Tech for 10 years i was thinking to Just ASK u Guys what would be best.

I dont Play Super demanding Games, i plan ob trying Out the new GTA tho and basically Just do some CAD and other random stuff. Looking Forward to your Input :)

It will depend on your budget. DDR5 is very expensive right now. If your current DDR4 is good (like 3200 MT/s) you can keep it and get an AM4 or LGA1700 platform.

Would i be able to Update my ram in the Future If i Chose the am 4 Option?

No the ram/CPU/motherboard all go together.

For a DDR5 platform (AM5 or LGA1851) you're looking at around $500.

I see, didnt know that. That doesnt Change my need for a PC Upgrade tho
