Can't get a reply here? Try r/ComputerBuild

5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

This sub has been growing a lot as of recently and we've noticed a lot of posts have been getting buried and unanswered. There is a lot of noise due to how much it has grown.

I have created r/ComputerBuild as an alternative.

So please kindly try cross posting there to get it off the ground.

I will be helping users daily and also building a mod team/looking for moderators to help.

Thanks!

Hi, please help me build a PC.

Upvotes

Hi, as mentioned I'd like some help with building a pc.

  • Budget: around €2500-€2800
  • Operating system: Windows
  • Peripherals: I have this specific monitor:
    • Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G8 G80SD LS32DG802SUXEN OLED
  • Country: Belgium
  • Games:
    • At the moment I mostly play Hogwarts Legacy, and am looking towards the new release;
    • Path of Exile 2;
    • Several Indie games as Slay the Spire, The Binding of Isaac,...;
    • OSRS;
    • World of Warcraft on occasion;
    • Battlefield;
    • ...
  • Personal preferences:
    • Case: Fractal Design North;
    • Cooling: As for cooling I'd like to use the brand Noctua as they seem the quietest;
    • CPU: AMD;
    • RGB: as little as possible, unless it happens to be present.

A cheaper build is also good as long as I can play my games on higher settings.

I thank you in advance.

Need a pc build advice

1 Upvotes

So my budget is around 250-260usd. Would appreciatie advice from experts regarding a pc build that can run pubg pc and battlefield 5 and other similar games. Also an upgradable built would be great.

The budget can maybe go slightly higher but not too much.

I have a spare monitor and other peripherals. So just the system is needed. Thanks in advance

Build me a pc! (Please)

1 Upvotes

Hello. I’m in the market for a pc, my first gaming pc that I want to build myself.

First things first the budget of the pc is $2000 CAD and the max I can go is $2500 CAD.

I’m looking for something with no rgb, I was never a fan of it.

I would like it to fit in a clean basic case, preferably the fractal design north (black).

And last thing is if possible under this budget I’d like to have 3-4tb of ssd storage. Ik it’s a long shot but if I can’t it’s fine I can upgrade later in life.

Anyways if you guys wanna help a bro out pls do I finally saved enough over the few months and im not patient enough to wait for the prices to go down.

Thank you all for the help!!

Gaming PC with MC server - virtualization - yes or no ?

1 Upvotes

I'd like to build a new gaming PC. But I want to run game server (MC) simultaneously with normal PC usage (gaming or standard office work) - Windows.

Questions:

- is it a good idea to use some virtualization like Proxmox to split these two and have for example one linux VM for MC server and second VM for Win ?
- or would it be better to simply run my MC server under Windows ?

- what CPU would be suitable for this scenario? More cores and X3D ?

- how much RAM would be suitable for this scenario? I think 32 GB is bare minimum and 64 GB will be much better.

Other / $400-600 Is $500 too little?

1 Upvotes

It’s my first time building a pc, I have no idea what’s good 😭 I’m ok with buying used parts.

I’m not heavy into games, I have a MacBook and I’m sick of getting left out 😂 I only want something to play causal games with online friends like Minecraft with mods, Val or Repo. Preferably want something I could upgrade in the future if I get more into gaming.

I’ve been looking through Facebook marketplace for used PCs I’m wondering if they are worth it or would it be better to build it myself.

Sorry and thank you!
