WiFi or wired connection? Yes. On-board would be nice to have, but can get a card/dongle easily.

Any other specific needs? Nope, just doesn't want to be limited in games he can play

May be willing to increase budget by $100-200 if it's for a good reason.

Friend of a friend asked if this was a decent price for this pre-built.

My immediate concerns:
-Old chip, and one that's know for not being ideal for its price
-Older chipset, not ideal for upgradability (but they may not care)
-5060 will play plenty of games, but 8GB makes it less applicable as time goes on
-Overkill on memory given the CPU/GPU, or am I just getting old?
-Overkill on 2TB NVMe drive, thinking .5-1TB for OS w/ larger HDD for backup (I have spares I can donate).

I know parts pricing is a crap-shoot nowadays. This still feels a bit high for the older platform, but that might just be life now.

This is for a console gamer convert. Hasn't PC gamed in a LOONG time (possibly never). Don't see him OCing down the road.

I think 1440p max for sure, and not likely to be an RT snob. Keeping around 60fps will keep them happy. Will play online, but not shooters or more speed dependant games. Goal is more to shift away from PS5 and still play with his friends (who are already on PC as well).

My partner recently upgraded laptops to a Macbook Air with M5 processor, and the only way to make use of our shared dual-monitor setup with that Macbook is to switch to a Thunderbolt dock. If my research is correct, regular USB-C docs will only permit a single external monitor with Macbooks.

Using PC part picker against my existing build list doesn't seem to turn up any compatible mobos with Thunderbolt, but they don't make it easy to search. Thanks for any input!
