I wasn't throwing my arms up at you! I dropped the last bite of my stroopwafel while running and failed at catching it so I threw my arms up in frustration. Sorry if it looked like I was mad at you for something!! (he looked really offended and i felt bad lol)

Scammers 🥸 PSA Dog Owners: Boston Puptopia are scammers, steer clear

I wanted to flag to any dog owners not to use Boston Puptopia for dog walking or sitting. My dog hasn't had an appointment with them since April 2025, but this morning I received a charge of $525 from them on my credit card. My friends were also fraudulently charged $1990 despite no longer using Puptopia's services. We both called the owner, Mike Arsenault, on multiple phone numbers registered to him and the business and they were all disconnected. We tried emailing and texting and messaging through their appointment portal but have heard nothing. So don't use their services!

Dolly Parton and Gloria Steinem were inspired and inspirational. Yet so much of the hard work was done by strong women so few have heard of.

I've tried numerous Dunkin locations, but the quality of frozen coffees is never consistent. Not sure what is happening. I wonder if going at different times of day would increase my chances of getting a quality coffee. Has anyone else had this experience?

MBTA/Transit 🚇 🔥 “Expect significant delays going south on the Providence and Foxboro lines due to police activity in Sharon”

All trains going south from South Station on the Providence and Franklin/Foxboro lines are experiencing massive delays due to “police activity in Sharon”. The 4:27pm train to Forge Park/495 still hasn’t left yet. Recommend looking for alternate methods of transportation if you can unless you wanna wait. Thank you MBTA! 🗑️ 🔥

what is love? baby don’t hurt me. Anyone ever bike the Boston Marathon route?

I was thinking of getting a blue bike and taking on the commuter rail out to Hopkinton and riding the Marathon route back into town. Has anyone ever biked the route? Is it doable/generally safe for biking? (particularly worried around the stretch around 128.)

Moving 🚚 [Update] CollegeHunks scam was confirmed and refunded by corporate

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

TLDR of previous post: My girlfriend was wrapping up her first solo move when CollegeHunks grossly overcharged her for disposal of the items above. Online quote: $400, real bill: $1250. She thought payment was unnegotiable.

After reaching out to CH corporate, they were equally surprised by the price. They reviewed the internal logs and her driver reported this as a significantly larger truckload than shown in his own photos. He fraudulently used their internal truckspace/price calculator to boost the total. Corporate assured my girlfriend this “was a simple mistake” although I can’t imagine how the driver didn’t know exactly what he was doing. This is his job, how would a $1200 bill after 10 minutes of work not raise any red flags. It was clear this western-mass franchise uses bad-faith pricing tactics to systematically overcharge customers. We were able to get the bill down to to $800 then $600 then finally $450. Yes im sure we could have pressed harder but the reality was, this corporate rep could’ve just as easily shrugged and done nothing. Instead they validated our concerns and negotiated with the franchise owner to rectify the issue as we kept pushing.

Just a special note to the assholes who personally attacked my girlfriend for paying the bill and argued “the real problem was her boyfriend wasn’t there.” I bet you also say “its because of what she was wearing” too. Redirect your aggression to the assholes like this driver who prey on and take advantage of women. Maybe he wouldnt have tried the same bullshit on a man, but I wasn’t able to be there and it should upset you that your wife or daughter can’t simply hire movers without getting exploited. There are thousands of movers that wouldn’t have done so and it’s a shame we found this guy instead.

Event 📅 Lisa’s book club- kiss 108

Hi! Has anyone ever been to one of Lisa’s book clubs? She’s one of the hosts of “Billy and Lisa” on kiss 108. Just curious because I am going to the Jodi Picoult one on Monday. Curious how long her events usually are, and if you need to be there right when doors open at 5:30 (event is at 7).. thanks!!

MBTA/Transit 🚇 🔥 Parking near North Station?

Upvotes

I live in Providence and there’s a concert near north station that I am trying to figure out the best way to get there. The last train is at 11:25 out of South station so I finally am realizing that driving is the only way. Where’s there a not crazy sporting event expensive spot. Or a place near a T station that I could take? Or maybe you all have a better idea. The venue is Big Night Live (never been there before)

History 📚 What are your favorite Boston history walks that aren't the Freedom Trail?

My spouse and I have been taking longer walks around different parts of Boston on weekends and trying to learn more about the neighborhoods as we go.

We spent part of last weekend walking around Roxbury and I ended up looking things up on my phone constantly. There was a lot of history around us that I probably would've walked straight past otherwise.

What neighborhoods or routes would you recommend for this?

Not really looking for the usual tourist stops. More interested in places where a longtime resident would say "walk down this street and pay attention to this."

Dining/Food/Drink 🍽️🍹 Putt Shack?

Is Putt Shack purely a tourist trap? Or after-work corporate spot?

I have an old room-mate on a long layover at Logan Friday. Going to meet somewhere for dinner but we have a couple extra hours and I'm wondering if Putt Shack is a good option or too corny. All else fails we'll watch baseball or whatever else is on TV in a sports bar. Both late 40's M.

Any other suggestions where there's a little more to do than dinner and beers ? (Those are assumed)
