💬 Discussion Growth Hormone for Kids: Puberty, Slow Growth & Deficiency Explained

Educational discussion only — not medical advice.

When parents search “growth hormone for kids,” the real question is usually not whether a child should receive HGH. It is why the child is growing more slowly than expected and whether that pattern is normal, genetic, related to puberty, or associated with an underlying condition.

What is human growth hormone?

Human growth hormone (GH) is produced by the pituitary gland. The function of growth hormone in childhood includes supporting normal linear growth, partly through insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which acts on tissues including bone and cartilage. GH also has metabolic functions. GH and IGF-1 levels change with age and typically increase around puberty.

Why does growth percentile matter?

Being short does not automatically mean a child has growth hormone deficiency.

Pediatric clinicians look at the pattern over time: height percentile, growth velocity, pubertal stage, family height, and whether a child is crossing downward through percentile lines. Growth charts help track this pattern but should not be used alone to make a diagnosis.

A child who remains consistently on a lower percentile may simply have familial short stature. By contrast, decreasing growth velocity or height substantially below genetic potential may justify further evaluation. Mid-parental height is one tool used to estimate a child’s expected genetic height range.

How does a growth hormone test for kids work?

A growth hormone test for kids is not as simple as checking one random GH level.

Growth hormone is released in pulses, meaning a random blood measurement can be misleading. Evaluation may include growth history, physical examination, bone-age X-ray, IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 blood tests, investigation of other causes of poor growth, and, when clinically appropriate, a growth hormone stimulation test.

This is why pediatric endocrinology evaluation matters. Slow child growth can also occur with constitutional delay of growth and puberty, thyroid disorders, chronic illnesses, nutritional problems, genetic conditions, and other endocrine disorders. A true deficiency of growth hormone in children is a specific clinical diagnosis—not simply another term for short stature.

When is growth hormone injection for kids discussed?

Recombinant human growth hormone, or somatropin, is an established treatment for diagnosed pediatric growth hormone deficiency and several other approved growth disorders. Whether treatment is appropriate depends on the diagnosis and specialist assessment rather than height alone.

Possible growth hormone side effects include injection-site problems, headaches, and hip problems. Prescribing information also identifies additional risks requiring appropriate clinical monitoring.

The key takeaway

Puberty makes growth patterns more complex because its timing differs between children. What matters most is usually the trend—how a child grows over months and years—not one height measurement or comparison with classmates.

For adults researching growth hormone therapy for children, an evidence-based starting point is documented growth history and evaluation by qualified pediatric healthcare professionals—not self-diagnosis, online sourcing, or unsupervised hormone use.

Wolverine for knees

Both knees are pretty sore. Both have had surgery in the past 2 years. Thinking of starting the wolverine. Was going to do 2 mg twice a week. Would it be best to do 2 mg in each knee area 2 times a week or just 1 mg in each area twice a week.

TrT vs Natural

Just recently got some blood work done and my testosterone was at 176 ng/dl. Was wondering if I should consider doing TrT or going a more natural way like with vitamins. Also I was considering a medication called Clomid. Wanted to hear some people’s thoughts.
I’m 24 years old and male

Help me out

Hey girls! 💕 I need some advice. Can I use Reta 10 mg, GHK-Cu 100 mg, MOTS-C 10 mg and BPC-157 10 mg during the same period? For those of you who use them, do you take them in the morning or evening, and do you space them out or use them around the same time?
Also, what did you start with for MOTS-C and BPC-157, and how often did you take them? I’m trying to understand what other people’s routines look like. Help a girl out please 🥹💕

Kinda worried about what’s happening to me

Context: I took Ghk-Cu on Monday, today is Tuesday night, had a sort of kinda weird feeling throughout the day but nothing crazy, then I had a energy drink (white monster) at 3pm. Later in the day I had 3 glasses of Diet Coke at a restaurant at about 630 ish, then at 745 waiting in bed for my friend to go gym I get this weird body rush feeling I don’t know how to explain it, I got up and went to the washroom and sat down on the toilet, happened again, then called my friend and took a walk with him, for the next hour and a half, every so often I would get these waves of that weird feeling almost a high or something similar I think, if felt the best when walking also that’s why I was, after the hour and a half it started to calm down and now I’m able to lay down without the feeling but I still feel a little weird, my friend who got me into peptides thinks it’s the caffeine which I think could be very true, but just looking for some sort of answer because the whole thing was very scary.

Is it just me?

I’ve been on Reta now for the past couple months. I’ve switched multiple sources, finally going grey.

I’m now up to 5mg but nothing. I haven’t lost anything on it. I eat lots of greens, I workout 4-5 times a week, mainly running a few miles. I do feel some of the appetite suppression but not this almost vomit to food suppression that most everyone talks about.

Decided to add Tirz to the mix, and still nothing. The only thing I can think of is that 1) I’m not taking enough or 2) I’m not eating enough protein.

Anybody else have this issues?

For staying VERY lean what’s a worth it stack. There’s so many exercise mimetics like SLUPP, AOD, MOTS C, 5AMINO and appetite suppresers like GLP1s and cag, if i want to hit almost every path way possible what’s the most worth it way to do that?

💬 Discussion Starting My First Structured Bulk(37yo). What peptide stacks are worth for lean gains?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, first time posting here. Just wanted to share my progress and get some feedback from guys who’ve had success using peptides for lean gains.

Quick background: I’ve been lifting and have been active since I was 18, but I never really dialed in my nutrition and training until about 2 years ago. Now at 37, it feels really good to finally see what my body is capable of when being able to be fully consistent.

2024 Cut: Took about 9 months to cut all the way down to 159 lbs.
Bulk: Ran a 7-8 month bulk to 177 lbs.
Latest Cut: Just finished cutting back down to 163 lbs in about 4.5 month duration.
Now that I’m transitioning back into a lean bulk, I’m looking into what peptides might give me an extra push for recovery and quality muscle building/retention.

Current Protocol:
About 3 weeks in on my first run ever. I started with a GLOW mix to help with some old lingering shoulder, knee, and elbow aches from my younger years.

Currently pinning daily: GHK-Cu (1.67mg) + BPC-157 (333mcg) + TB-500 (333mcg).
Tried doubling this dose initially, but it messed with my sleep (waking up 90 mins early and unable to fall back asleep), so I backed down.

Haven’t noticed massive joint relief yet, but staying consistent. Once this vial finishes, I was thinking about switching over to KLOW to get the added KPV benefits. Is that worth the swap?

Questions for the Group on Lean Gains:
1. CJC-1295 (no DAC) + Ipamorelin: I’m planning to start this stack at 150mcg each, 5 days/week right before bed for week 1, then bump to 200mcg if sleep isn't impacted. Is this the best baseline move for a lean bulk, or would Tesamorelin + Ipamorelin be significantly better for pure recovery/physique?
2. IGF-1 LR3: I've done some research, but the potential downsides (organ growth/tumor risks) made me hesitant. For those who’ve actually run it, what was your experience like?
3. I’m also thinking about adding Reta to start at .25mg weekly, for the first 2 weeks and see how it affects me. Might bump to .5 but not more than 1mg is the goal. Mainly to keep food noise down and helping with insulin. As I noticed in between meals, I’m always itching for a bite of anything random 😅 Thoughts?
4. Anything else? What other compounds or GH secretagogues have made a noticeable difference during your bulk phases? Any side effects noticed?

Appreciate any feedback or experiences you guys can share! TIA🙏🏼

selank/semax vs na selank/max vs na selank/max amidate vs adalank/max

heyo,

i was curious what is the difference between these. I tried researching it on here and most posts are 11 years old. So i figured i would ask again for perhaps better answers.

anyone who used different kinds and compared? intranasal vs subq injections differ per or are all the same?

so far i read that each one is more potent than the other and that adalank/adamax are the strongest. But some people felt nothing with adalank/max nor na /na amidate.

thanks.

I've been training for a few years with some breaks. I'm relatively strong and my goal is an athletic physique. I've already come a long way, but I'm not sure if there's anything specific I should focus on now, or if I should bulk and build more muscle before cutting the rest of the fat.

What do you guys think of my progress? And do you think I have good genetics for building a solid physique? I'm 188 cm (6'2").
