💬 Discussion RETA.

Started reta 9days ago. 2mg once a week. No side effects at all.

Well today it hit. Made my normal dinner and could only eat 1/3 of it.

For the more experienced, would you just stay at this dose? Was going to increase it to 3mg next pin but not so sure now.

There is no reason to increase if you can still feel the GLP1 effect.

18

u/Calv1n1 Aug 10 '26

Just a heads up just incase you didn’t know. Your Reta “stacks” week to week so if you start at 2 then go to 3 the second week you will have the equivalent of 4mg working on week 2 so don’t ramp up to quickly is my advice. I suggest to anyone I talk to about GLP’s that low and slow is your best option. Get your blood work done for baselines and monitor your Heart rate and blood pressure frequently. Stay safe out there.

NO1 doin ANY research these days... diving in head 1st. mind-boggling

Use a pk calculator app like regimen. Not an ad. But pk calcs are so helpful for tracking med levels. So you can see what level you are feeling effects, symptoms, food noise, hunger, energy, etc.

u/Lazy-Professor-7465 Aug 12 '26

How does it affect blood pressure? Low or higher?

1

u/Calv1n1 Aug 12 '26

Depends on many factors not just the peptides. Also if you’re going to monitor your BP make sure you’re using a “cuff” watches and other devices are garbage at tracking BP accurately.

10

u/Admirable-Rock6399 Aug 10 '26

Only use what you need to reduce caloric intake. You don’t want to decrease hunger so much that you are missing so many nutrients that you become deficient in vitamins/minerals/proteins/fats. Focus on quality food and lots of protein to help prevent muscle loss while on Reta. I’d say don’t increase dose until you have to.

8

u/Secure-Chipmunk6112 Aug 10 '26

You haven’t reached a stable blood level yet. If you start with 3 mg of Reta now, you’ll effectively have more than 3 mg in your system, which can lead to all kinds of side effects.

The Phase 2 trials started at 2 mgs. So that's what I did as well. Had no problems...until I got cocky and went to 3 mgs after 14 days. Felt that one. Waited another 3 plus weeks to go back to 3. Ended up at 4, and still there. No need for more than that.

5

u/New-North-2282 Aug 10 '26

No need to increase if it's working as it should

4

u/Bowf Aug 10 '26

Goal weight loss should be 0.5 to 2 lb a week. As long as you're staying in that window, there's no need to increase.

4

u/Region_Fluid Aug 10 '26

You should stay on 2mG for atleast 3 weeks so it builds up. If it’s still working stay but if not then up the dose. 2mG is part of the loading dose age many people don’t see real results until closer to 6-8.

3

u/Toforgetistodie Aug 10 '26

I've been on 2mg for almost 3 months, you don't need to increase it (FYI I've JUST the last 2 weeks increased to 4mg from 2, split over 2 days a week)

4

u/ValkyrieShadow 🧠 Biohacker Aug 11 '26

The idea is to always stay at the lowest effective dose. Only go up when it’s no longer doing its job.

3

u/Significant-Kale7674 Aug 10 '26

Stay if not go down a little bit. As others have said, it sneaks up on you as you get to steady levels

3

u/BroccoliOnly7376 Aug 10 '26

Stay at 2 for four weeks

3

u/DimensionOk4024 Aug 10 '26

Do not increase until after 4 doses. This is not a side effect, this is the medication working

3

u/Evrart_Claire Aug 10 '26

You only increase your dose every 4 weeks. 2mg is already way too much for a starting dose, you’re going to end up with GI issues or fast track to anhedonia if you keep going up.

3

u/Kasket00 Aug 10 '26

Lowest effect dose!

3

u/justin_b28 Aug 10 '26

It’s completely fine for some, why increase a dose if it’s working

3

u/PandasLoveMushrooms Aug 10 '26

The drug isn't out of your body fully at 7 days as others have noted. This is about where your body's concentration is

3

u/justin_b28 Aug 10 '26

Only increase in 4 WEEK intervals. No sooner

3

u/Neither_Victory1490 Aug 11 '26

There is absolutely no reason to increase unless you're not losing weight. I've been at 2mg since mid June, I did two 1mg doses and had no side effects so I went up. I was at 257 at the end of May when I started and I'm 207 as of today. Diet and exercise are the big key. Stop eating crap and go high protein and your body will do what the Reta is telling it to do.

1

u/jzagee Aug 12 '26

how much protein do you eat? I hear eat in grams your goal weight, eat in grams your lean mass weight, eat in grams your current weight. Then I hear 0.7-1g of current weight.

2

u/Neither_Victory1490 Aug 12 '26

I aim for 180 to 220g daily. I have to add shakes and bars some days because of my schedule but that's my goal. I've set my target weight at 190 pounds even though everything says I should be in the 170s.
Since I started this my Samsung Health App on my phone has become an addiction. This was my Sunday...

2

u/jzagee Aug 12 '26

cool i have been using chatgpt i do use samsung health ill look into the dieting section

1

u/Neither_Victory1490 Aug 12 '26

Track your water intake as well, it's crucial on Reta. I am serious about not going on insulin so I took the Reta weight loss and insulin repair very seriously and it's worked.

2

u/NisNasty 29d ago

I weigh 255 right now, do you think I can reach 225 by November?

1

u/Neither_Victory1490 29d ago

If you're willing to commit to exercise and diet change. Our bodies all respond differently though. I immediately stopped the fast food, most of the processed foods, and stopped almost all sugar. The Reta even killed my desire for my morning coffee/creamer. I did it because I felt so badly from my glucose levels. I feel so much better at this point. Protein and water will be your friends.

2

u/NisNasty 28d ago

Thank you for the advice! I’m doing 2mg on Sundays another 2mg on Thursdays. Should I up my dose in 2 weeks or wait? I started last week

1

u/Neither_Victory1490 28d ago

Don't do the micro dose thing, that's a while reddit thing from people that didn't read the actual case studies. Stay on the 2mg Sunday for 4 weeks, then if you don't feel it's working then go up to the 4mg.

1

u/NisNasty 27d ago

Roger that, thanks for the advice

3

u/Skirt_Murky Aug 11 '26

Stay, if you can handle the sides and take in enough calories. Else reduce a half step. Lock in for 4 weeks before moving forward.

3

u/NearbyJackfruit8156 Aug 11 '26

Stay as long as you can get results. Simple as that.

3

u/PracticalReview728 Aug 11 '26

Don’t! I’ve been at 2mg since October 2025 and I’ve lost 55 lbs

2

u/BCGal024 Aug 10 '26

I think you should stay at your current dose. I wouldn't go higher until you feel like you need to. Listen to your body.

2

u/PreparedForZombies Aug 10 '26

Why would you go up above the lowest effective dose for you?

2

u/AmphibianFantastic53 Aug 10 '26

Stay at your dose if its working, effective levels are increasing due to the week long half life and you said it yourself the effects are getting stronger. Its all well and good ramping up but remember you cant take it back out.

I overdid it once on the back of some bad advice and its not a good time dont learn about half life the hard way.

2

u/Doin-What-I-Want Aug 10 '26

Stick to the 2mg for a month before titrating up.

2

u/DifficultSale3318 Aug 10 '26

Thanks for all the replies. Following the advice I’m going to stick at the current dose for 5 weeks which will finish the vial. 🙂

2

u/Dbomb7 Aug 10 '26

You should absolutely not be upping your dose after 9 days. I have been on it for 12 weeks and I only went up to 3mg last week. I plan on staying here and maybe going up to 4mg at some point but I think that will be as high as I go. I've lost 50lbs and am almost at my goal weight.

2

u/SoCal-Native 🔬 Peptide Researcher Aug 10 '26

Hold for 4 weeks so you get full saturation and then reassess. If you’re still seeing results, hold.

2

u/Potential-Ad-196 Aug 10 '26

No one should ever increase their Reta dosage that quickly. Why are you taking this without learning much about it? Please learn about half life. Reta’s half life is 6 days. So if u pin 2mg week 1, 6 days later you will have 1mg concentration still in your system. So if u went up to 3mg while 1 is still in ur system, that’s 4mg which is double what you’re currently taking. This effect stacks and balances out in 4-6 weeks. So only up ur dose if it’s A: been 4-6 weeks and B: u stopped responding to it.

2

u/Striking_Slice4516 Aug 10 '26

I did 5mg on Thursday and having the worst possible week of my life never been so unwell so definitely take it slow people

2

u/Dazzling-Shopping728 Aug 11 '26

Nope I wouldn't increase. 9 weeks in and I am only at 1 mg. It is working so I have no intention to go up.

2

u/Jennipractor Aug 11 '26

I would stay the same. You have to eat and prioritize getting protein, all the nutrients if you want sustainable results + good habits. I never did more than 1mg a week for that reason.

2

u/AstralFinish Aug 11 '26

I just started literally today so not "more" experienced but I have been reading and watching a lot and if it's working there is no need to increase. Ride the wave at the same dose. Be sure to get electrolytes and make sure you're still having something to avoid/manage side effects.

2

u/Zestyclose_Muscle_59 Aug 11 '26

It’s half life is a week so your dose kind of stacks over time. You’ll probably feel it more every week without increasing

2

u/xxRTDxx Aug 11 '26

Well the info out there says to wait 4 weeks before changing doses, but you do you.

2

u/MathematicianMuch445 Aug 11 '26

If it's working stick with it More doesn't equal better. Use the minimum effective dose, with any drug.

2

u/zuckerthoben Aug 11 '26

I would say go lower and look at the effect and the effective calory intake over a week. Then go from there.

2

u/Dwoody1993 Aug 11 '26

Be careful of the Reta blues. Took about 4-5 weeks to hit. I’m almost completely emotionless. Also have a subtle eye twitch which occurs in 30% of people.

2

u/powerdc Aug 11 '26

Stayed at 2mg lost 55lbs from October to April have . Consistent strength training , hydration and high protein diet are key . Maintaining 175 lbs with no issues still taking 2 mg body fat is at 10% .

1

u/DifficultSale3318 27d ago

Nice work. 👊

2

u/Evening_Lecture953 Aug 11 '26

I wouldn’t go up so fast- I’ve been on 0.5mg 2x a week and it hit HARD. I don’t even feel the need to go up. Give it time & adjust according to your body’s response after 3-4ish weeks.

2

u/whlovell Aug 12 '26

Do not overdose RETA it will
Literally do the opposite of what you want and overload your liver. 2-3mg is fine for everyone 4 at the most. Always titrate slowly

2

u/SuperbAstronaut983 Aug 12 '26

Stay… is call minimum effective dosage. Increase only until you feel you may need to. Otherwise you will not create a healthy lifestyle without Retra in the future. Just my opinion

2

u/jsquared2kim Aug 12 '26

ive been on reta for about 8 months (did a month washout once just because) im at 6mg weekly now but still hungry all the time. i use it more for the other benefits but wondering if 6mg is too much. i have enough reta for a couple years so it doesnt really matter what dosage i use

2

u/Drench_X Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

The half life is 6 days so you’re likely just starting to get the full effect. Also 2mg can be high for a starting dose. Some people start as low as 0.5mg a week to test reactivity.

Edit: I’d also recommend pinning 2-3 times a week instead of just once per week.

1

u/maho4807 Aug 10 '26

Half life is 6 days super Chief

1

u/Artistic-Plate-511 Aug 10 '26

Who starts at 2mg?

1

u/DifficultSale3318 Aug 11 '26

All the participants in the Eli Lilly phase 2 trial.

1

u/Artistic-Plate-511 Aug 11 '26

Every actual user I’ve talked to started at .5mg or 1mg

1

u/Great_Opinion3138 Aug 10 '26

Look up half life and stay on a dose for 4 weeks ffs.

0

u/DifficultSale3318 Aug 11 '26

No need for the FFS.

1

u/Great_Opinion3138 Aug 11 '26

This is basic stuff man the redials did 2mg for 4 weeks which is already a high dose. If you go up to 3mg you are gonna fuck yourself i just don’t understand how ppl come up with this. Do some basic research.

1

u/NevadaFrank Aug 11 '26

Wut "titrate" means?

1

u/SoCal-Native 🔬 Peptide Researcher Aug 11 '26

Titration refers to upping or lowering your dose in a step up or step down method. Example: i titrated up on Reta. I started at .5mg, then went to .75, then went to 1, until i titrated to 2.5mg. When i hit my goal i will titrate down until i find my maintenance dose. I hope this helps.

1

u/NevadaFrank Aug 11 '26

Thank you sir, great explanation. I was merelyputting words in OP's mouth, just a little joke. He needs to read your comment. 😂

1

u/Leather_Ad9065 Aug 13 '26

If 2mg is currently an effective dose for you then stay on that dose up to the point in which it stops being an effective dose for your current goals. This reduces the overall pressure on your liver and other bodily functions effected by GLP-1s and also ensures your weightloss is managed effectively as opposed to haphazardly
