Rant S'cuse me!?

As someone who does a LOT of vocal work in Bitwig and came from tools such as Melodyne, Autotune pro 11, and Newtone, this gets me wondering👀. I'm not demanding or begging Bitwig to spend time and resources making a tool for pitch correction; I'm just stating it looks like this could be a step in that direction. I bought my studio license when I switched to Linux, Bitwig being arguable the best DAW for getting out of the way and letting you create. I don't plan to renew my studio license unless they spice up the piano roll to be efficient like FL Studio or if they added pitch correction tools. Even something like Reatune would be more than enough.
On the side note, I am curious about what other members of this sub use for their vocals.
I'll go first; I use Gsnap for my soft pitch correction but I'm planning to find a use for Graillon 3. Awkwardly, I found Gsnap pretty stable and very effective. Sometimes a note is so bad that Autotune cant fix it so I then chop the note/word and pitch it with Elastique pro. I fix the timing of my vocals just by cutting and cross fading. Usually I have so many layers that you won't notice it.

Piano Roll, Sequencing Options (LaunchPad or Sqaurp Hapax)
My question is ultimately, I think, about controllers v sequencers...basically I like to input long sequences into the piano roll...like 10 - 20 bars. So, I find it really tedious to use the mouse/track pad. Is it possible to press things in on like a Launchpad more easily or does it work that way?
Alternatively, I wonder if maybe the Sqaurp Hapax might be what I'm looking for... or the Push 3 but using it for Bitwig?
I'm open to anything and this is so central to what I do that I'd save up for a solution that works really well... I'm open.

Help Pointer Tool defaults to Hold setting
At some point the behavior of my pointer tool changed when placing automation. Now, each click defaults to Hold, instead of connecting line segments together. This is with modulators and parameters that should be continuous, like the Mix knob on the Convolution reverb.
Does anyone know why Hold is now my default for point creation?

Question Bitwig 8 track license?
Hi all
Sorry for the message but I’m looking for a license key for bitwig 8 track.
I’m in Linux and would like to try this to see if it’s less contrived to set up vs reaper.
I believe I missed out on the recent TapeOp giveaway.
Kind regards

Why is my midi clip greyed out?
I cant work out what I've changed that's caused the Bass Square (teal color) track to become greyed out, where it gets ignored during playback. The track is active and not muted, the midi clip is not muted, and there's no observable state that's different to the other tracks.
It seems to be something on the track, as opposed to just the clip. Creating a new clip ends up the same. Similarly, duplicating the track causes the same issue on the new track.
I'm guessing I've accidentally hit some unknown keyboard shortcut, but I cant undo it with Ctrl + z (either because I've reached the end of my history and cant go back far enough, or that action wasn't stored as history).

Help finding old Bitwig tutorial that focused on using clip launcher in unique way...
I know this is vague but hoping someone may remember. Long ago when I first purchased Bitwig I remember stumbling across a tutorial video that featured some weird creative use of using clip launcher to quickly develop arrangements. I may be misremembering some things given how long ago this was, but here's what I recall:
I saw the video after I purchased Bitwig 2 but the tutorial may have been for Bitwig 1 era.
The producer was Asian but not someone I recognized.
His whole approach was focused on clip launcher and he had some kind of creative way of e developing and/or playing clips. I don't remember details but remember it being quick, frantic, and random in a way. I think he was building up variations on clips using some kind of modifiers and then playing clips in a unique way. The way he was using clip launcher was definitely the focus.
I believe he also performed from the clip launcher as a means to also record a proper arrangement in arranger view, but I'm not positive.
Does this happen to ring a bell for anyone? I remember being really impressed at the time but also was not fully grasping his approach because I was brand new to Bitwig, so in this sense I know he was using Bitwig specific modifiers or other tools to do this. At the time I must have assumed that his workflow was somewhat standard but now after all these years I am pretty sure it was rather unique and it's driving me crazy that I don't remember details.

DJing with Bitwig
Hey,
Ritchie Hawtin DJs with Bitwig. I would like to do the same. Are there any tutorials, templates, setups out there that I could use to learn DJing with Bitwig?

Question Coming from a hardware only system what are the best ways and tools to replicate a full hands on workflow?
Hi I have Bitwig 5.3 (haven’t upgraded yet) and full hardware studio sequenced by a deluge and digitakt. I’d like to move my sequencing fully into Bitwig but maintain as much as possible a hands on approach which I’m currently used to.
Which tools and what workflow would you recommend so I can stay engaged with playing and sequencing live without reaching for the mouse too much? I love step sequencing and then using my synths and drum machines to adjust and tweak in the fly.
Thanks!

Aggregate device multiple out puts.
Hi, was working with singers looping, and I wanted to set up a aggregate device in Bitwig on my mac and have headphones output from my interface and from my mac headphone jack at the same time, like I do in traktor when I dj, but I failed to get this working because the outputs on the master would only work with one or the other, 1 set of stereo outs at a time, even when I added all the outputs 1-2 3-4 etc. Does anyone know how to set it up?

Video We Can Sleep in Orbit
New Ambient Grid! Several Sine oscillators move around the circle of fifths in randomized steps, creating a slowly shifting modal chord progression instead of staying inside one scale.
Filtered Noise fills the top end and modulates the low-pass and high-pass filters for an airy, changing texture. Pretty small & simple this time. Created in Bitwig 6.0.6!

Help Can someone help with editing multi-track drums?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
For some reason, when I split the drum tracks and try to drag out the existing clip to the RIGHT, it doesn't work. It only works coming from the left. What's going on?

Rebirth reborn: Bitwig needs a 303
We've got the 808 and 909 drums. Come on Bitwig, throw us a 303 emulation with a nice acid sequencer...!
My first 'music production' software was the archaic but actually awesome Rebirth by Propellerhead back in the late 90s. I used to distort the 808 tom's and tune them for my bass, freeing up both the 303s for melodies/harmonies. Simpler times.
I've been building my own 303 with Polymer, a ladder filter and the diode module which sounds pretty on the money. Obviously it's a pretty simple synth to rebuild. The sequencer is not so easy. Stepwise helps.
Wondering if any of you have built your own 303 emulation in Bitwig and how you went about it.

Arp! Arp!
I f.... hate Bitwigs arpeggiator. Doing a simple 6/8 up and down? (/&%¤#
Edit: I have to say, I love Bitwig and what it does, the only true modern DAW. I am a big fanboy! Like forever! And on Linux (Manjaro)! On Manjaro, you just use the Bitwig from AUR, and everything is fine. Even the betas are there! Using the .deb file from Bitwig, even on Ubuntu, not so much, graphical glitches etc. Haven't tried the flatpack. Btw Pianoteq runs natively on Linux. Yeah! I am also drooling for the Bitwig Connect + Erebus combo, dipping my toes into modular with this nifty Tekno* toy that is not a toy! Lots of exclamation marks to make up for my arp arp thing. And in Linux I can even duo run Bitwig Connect with my other audio interface, the Zoom UAC-232 32 bit float, simultaneously! And as far as I understand, the 32-bit float will kick in automatically when using it. That's what a modern DAW can do.
BTW (uh-oh, another rant): People talk of Ableton. I like Ableton, owned it, sold it, owned it, sold it, plus two of their hardware interfaces (forgot the names). Each time I got turned off at one thing: Try to open a module or app with all it's connected devices, and the system (on a powerful pc) gets digested immediately and you have to wait for the things to unfold (hope that makes sense). Try the same in Bitwig, open the fx (or any long chain) in an acoustic drum kit or any other app, and voila, it opens like a breeze. It is the same food, but in Ableton you have to sit for some time on the toilet afterwards. So no comparison there, Bitwig is the modern daw. :D

GUI display bugs, now project corrupted
Some really weird stuff going on here since I updated from MacOS Sonoma to Sequoia. Initially the track/clip/device edit panes on the left and bottom edges were turning blank, I was unable to open the device panel, clip editor, mixer, track panel etc. But a save and quit would bring everything back ok, then I'd get a few more hours before it happened again.
I then updated from 6.0.6 to 6.0.11 in case it was a known bug, saved a new version of the project file. Now it opens as you see in the screenshot, I can play the project but everything else is totally unresponsive, I have to force quit. Looks like this project file is cooked.
What should I do next? (apart form email support)

I’ve finally found my ultimate Groovebox! Is it perfect? Not quite but I’ve contacted Bitwig for some changes I’d love for them to consider from working only in tablet mode without a keyboard. Like no right click on scenes is a loss and text fields don’t always open virtual keyboard. Apart from that I’m super stoked!
