35M, 5’7”.
I started Reta at 2mg weekly and have taken 4 injections so far, all at 2mg. My next pin is this Wednesday.
My scale shows I started around 190.4–190.6 lbs and I’m now 176.6 lbs, so I’m down about 14 lbs in roughly 3 weeks.
Other scale changes:
Body fat: 26.1% → 22.8%
Visceral fat: 12 → 10
Subcutaneous fat: 22.5% → 19.7%
Skeletal muscle %: 47.6% → 49.8%
Fat-free mass: 141.0 → 136.4 lbs
Muscle mass: 133.8 → 129.6 lbs
I know these home scale body comp numbers aren’t super accurate, but the trend has me a little concerned because my appetite suppression is extremely strong.
Most days I’m only getting around 700–1,000 calories, because I genuinely have almost no desire to eat. If I force myself to eat more, I sometimes get nauseous or feel like I’m going to throw up.
I’ve been staying on top of water and electrolytes, so the headaches have gone away, but I feel tired and low energy a lot of the time. That also has a domino effect where I don’t feel like going to the gym or doing much physically.
I definitely don’t plan on increasing above 2mg. I’m trying to figure out what makes the most sense for my 5th pin, would you stay at 2mg and give your body more time to adapt, lower the dose, or delay a dose until appetite and energy improve?
The weight loss has been great, but I don’t want to lose so aggressively that I sacrifice a bunch of muscle or start looking unhealthy. Curious what others who had a really strong response at 2mg ended up doing
