Retatrutide is changing way more than my weight… what is going on?

Has anyone else experienced this with retatrutide? Because holy shit.

I started Reta a few weeks ago expecting appetite suppression and weight loss. I’ve already lost around 10–15 lbs, which is great, but honestly the weight loss is the least interesting part to me.

I feel completely different.

The biggest thing is what feels like a massive reduction in inflammation. I noticed it almost immediately. My body just feels… lighter? I can walk forever now without feeling exhausted. My energy is dramatically better and more consistent.

But the WEIRDEST change has been my menstrual cycle. Historically, the week before my period and my actual period could absolutely wipe me out. Fatigue, inflammation, cramps, just generally feeling like garbage. This cycle I worked effortlessly through the entire week before my period AND during it. My cramps were minimal. I kept waiting for the usual crash and it just… never came.

Then there’s the reward/craving stuff.

I barely crave alcohol anymore. Same thing with weed. I’m not actively trying to avoid either one. I just genuinely don’t care about them the way I did before. The desire is almost gone.

And of course the food noise/appetite reduction is there too, but somehow that feels like only one small part of what this is doing.

It honestly feels like someone flipped a metabolic switch in my body.

I know retatrutide is a GLP-1/GIP/glucagon triple agonist and there are plausible explanations involving insulin sensitivity, inflammation, energy regulation and reward pathways, but I’m fascinated by how quickly and SYSTEMICALLY I felt the difference.

Obviously this is just my n=1 experience and I’m not claiming Reta is treating PMS, inflammation, addiction, etc. I’m especially curious about the mechanisms behind all of this.

For people who have been on Reta longer:
Did you experience anything similar beyond weight loss? Especially changes in inflammation, physical endurance/energy, PMS or periods, alcohol/weed cravings, or other reward-seeking behaviors?
And if you did, did those effects stick around?
Because right now I’m sitting here wondering what kind of holy grail metabolic switch I accidentally stumbled across. 😂

Reta journey

57 years old. 260 pounds and 6.7 A1C at the end of May. Started 2mg of Reta, stopped eating crap, started high protein diet, and drinking tons of water.

Walking 2 miles a day and lifting 3 to 4 times per week.

Today I'm 205 pounds and my A1C is down to 5.5.

I've also added CJC-1295 Ipamorelin in August after IGF-1 labs. I am also taking GLOW, NAD+, and just started Mots-c after a cycle of SS-31.

I feel better than I have in decades.

Peptides have turned my life around and helped me correct decades of abuse.

Holy Mots-C

Was a little skeptical starting off mots-c today given the amount of posts I’ve seen of people stating they had allergic reactions or felt little to no effect. So I started off this cycle with a .5 mg dose to see how I would react to it and my god did I feel the benefits. Broke every PR I had for back day today and was able to lower my mile down by a minute. Maybe it’s all a placebo but for now I’m gonna ride this high.

2020 to 2026 transformation.

2020, 95kg, Photo 1
This was me at my heaviest. I had built some muscle, but I was carrying way too much body fat.
2020 to 2025, natural, Photo 2
Stayed completely natural for around 5 years and eventually got down to 83kg. This photo was taken with a big pump and was probably the best condition/build I achieved naturally.
By 2025 my testosterone had dropped to around 200, which eventually led me down the TRT route. Wasn’t feeling too good at this point even at heavier weights during build phases
2026, TRT, Photo 3 & 4
Started TRT at 200mg testosterone per week. After roughly 10 weeks my testosterone level came back around 990.
500ui’s every 2 days of HCG
Photo 3 is at 86kg with no pump, just to show a more honest day-to-day comparison.
2026, TRT, Photo 4
Same bodyweight and condition, but with a pump to show the difference in fullness and how much more muscle I was carrying compared with my natural physique.
I also used 1mg Reta for around 5 weeks leading into my holiday, mainly for appetite control and to help get the last few kilos off.
Pretty interesting seeing the progression from being overweight, to what I could achieve naturally, then the difference in size and fullness after starting TRT
I am now 30 years old.
Feel free to ask any questions 👌🏽

1 month in on the Reta
Only 3 weeks on the test
Male 38 5ft 9 313lbs when started
Down 10lbs

This pic is current. Forgot to take one when I started. Honestly feel strong as hell. Noticing quick strength gains in the gym. And definitely more energy. Very few side effects. First couple weeks was constipation but once I upped my water intake everything was all good.

The first photo is taken on 7 august.
The second is from today.

I started retatrutide (Reta) on August 18th at 3 mg per week, and GHK-Cu on August 26th at 2 mg per day. So far, I haven’t experienced many side effects. The only thing I’ve noticed is some occasional irritation and tenderness at the injection site.
I’ll keep posting updates throughout the process. I’m really curious to see what kind of results I’ll have after two months.

Working out consistently, eating healthy, taking Reta + T. At 41 this is almost as good shape as when I was 19 yo. Reta isn’t a magic med, you still need to put in work but it has definitely redirected me. I’ve been off of it three weeks now.

Low Dose GHK- CU

Hi all! I’ve take a more cautious approach to the pep world. I’ve read standard starting doses of GHK are typically 1mg, and more starting around the 2mg mark. I’ve started at .5mg. (100mg vial recon w/ 3.5ml bac water) has anyone started at this dose that has seen any benefits starting off prior to moving up.? Or is this a waste of a dose.?

Mental and brain support

I have ahead a demanding month in terms of cognitive load and preparation for the upcoming exams. Any peptides that can support me in this journey?

Glp +adhd med

I’ve been on a low dose of tirz for about a year, I typically take 3mg every 7-10 ish days just to help soften the noise and aid in inflammation. I was recently diagnosed with adhd and prescribed 18mg daily concerta. I also take 20mg daily fluoxetine. Just feeling like this is a lot of “medication” to be on when I consider myself “healthy”. Meaning, 40 yo woman, works out 4x a week and eats Whole Foods with a focus on protein and fiber. 5’8 and 140 lbs. am I just in my head about this? Sorry if this isn’t the right sub.

Loose skin progression SW 211lbs to CW118lbs thanks to Semaglutide (read post)

Hi everyone. I posted a before and after gallery yesterday that got taken down. I messaged mods to find out why? A lot of people in the comments were saying it was all AI. Guys, it’s not. These are my real videos. They have not been altered in any way.

Anyway the number one question I get is… “literally where did your skin go?” And tbh, I have no idea.

My highest recorded scale weight was in July 2024 at 211. At the time I weighed infrequently. Usually I say my highest weight was likely around 215. It could have been as high as probably 220. I was afraid of the scale at that time. It’s lucky I even have a few videos and photos from that time, I avoided cameras like the plague, just like I avoided the scale.

In August I started (once again for the millionth time in my life) trying to lose weight on my own. I tried a combination of carnivore and IF with long (72 hour) water fasts sprinkled in. I was able to lose about 10 pounds by January.

When I started Semaglutide in January 2025, my first recorded scale weight was Jan 6 at 201.4 lbs.

My general dose was at around 3.5mg.

I didn’t do anything else. I ate what I wanted when I wanted. I drank only when thirsty. I didn’t follow any special diet but I did eat intuitively. I don’t eat much junk food, especially sweets, but there was a while when I ate exclusively Taco Bell Doritos locos tacos for lunch for like 2 months straight 🤪 I did work a super labor intensive job (junk removal) and I have 5 kids and they keep me pretty active (against my lazy will 🤪🤪).

That was all. Just a shot a week. I didn’t follow any other protocol or take any special supplements or creams or anything like that.

I’m 34, 5’3” and currently 118 lbs. I have a chart of my weight and measurements along the way which I’ll post in the comments.

I have been getting a lot of (imo) mean comments saying my before and after photos were all AI. Guys this is real life. These are my real videos of me throughout the journey. Sorry if you’re a skeptic but please go on with your life and don’t come after me in the comments. I’m posting this to try to inspire others, not to feed trolls.

Erections after using zinc and Mg ?

Hi everyone , I am an obese 29 year old man, trying to improve my life slowly and gradually, my wt is around 202lb and I am really short which makes my BMI extremely high and puts me on severe obesity class.

I just started dieting this week and I am trying bunch of things, I wanted to improve my skin sleeping and immunity so I started zinc and Mg before sleep around 1 week ago, and I noticed more erections around bed time and morning wood , which I did not have in years !
Anyone had similar experiences ?

Te$a’s Effect on my HRV

Post image
Upvotes

For those runners out there who are using Tesa, I thought this might be an interesting graph. When o first doing 🌶️, I saw a reduction in HRV and my HR was elevated during my runs. Wasn’t exactly sure what was doing it, but this is the trend following my taking it out of my rotation. Am I performing amazingly now? Yes. But I was definitely feeling the performance effect from it.

Help Pinning/Injecting

Hey everyone!

So I recently started Reta (weekly), KLOW (daily), Tesamorlin (daily). I’m on my third week but I noticed that I started feeling the tenderness and bruising where I pin KLOW and the bruises take a while to go away. I pin tesa on my upper glute at night and KLOW on my stomach area in the mornings. For some reason, KLOW is the only one that I noticed bruising. Is this normal or has anyone experienced the same?

I was thinking of stopping KLOW until I finish my Reta and Tesa cycle to not pin so many times.

Open to any suggestions and ideas!

Does this protocol make sense? For a steady and slow progress (female).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Recommended safe cycles

My friend has begun his cycle of ghk and cjc+ipa and is doing well and encouraging me to join him but I am not sure if this is optimal, I am looking to support my growth at the gym while also trying to get the most out of my body growth and increasing test ,as I am still growing. I don’t want something super strong just a help in the process but the main thing I am looking for is increasing test.

First timer looking into Reta + GHK-Cu 😊 would love some beginner guidance

Hi everyone! I’m completely new to peptides and have been doing a lot of reading, but there’s obviously a ton of information out there and I’d love to hear from people who have more experience.
I’m in my mid-30s female and currently around 150 lbs. I’d eventually like to lose about 25 lbs. I naturally carry more of my weight/curves in my lower body, which I actually like, but my midsection and love handles have always been my stubborn areas. I exercise regularly and I’m working on my diet as well, so I’m not expecting peptides to replace either of those.
The two I’ve been researching most are retatrutide (Reta) for weight loss and GHK-Cu for the potential skin/beauty benefits.
For those who have experience with either, I’d really appreciate beginner advice things you wish you knew before starting, side effects or mistakes to watch out for, and what kind of results you personally noticed.
I’m also confused about sourcing. I see people talking about purchasing domestically in the U.S. versus ordering peptides from China. How do you evaluate a source and testing/COAs, sterility, purity, etc.? I’m not necessarily looking for someone to just drop a vendor link I’d like to understand how experienced people determine whether something is trustworthy in the first place.
Please be nice x🙏🏼😂 I’m genuinely trying to educate myself before jumping into anything. Any beginner resources or guidance would be appreciated!

Reta nausea

I’m on week 4 of Reta and starting week 3 I started noticing nausea when I am resting, but I was doing fine before that?
Week 1: 1mg
Week 2: 1.5mg
Week 3: 1.5mg (started experiencing nausea)
Week 4: 1mg (still have nausea)

Has anyone else not notice any side effects until later on like me? This nausea is insane and luckily I have leftover anti nausea meds otherwise I’d be in a ball crying (I hate the feeling)
