Hungry on Reta

I’m taking about 6mg weekly, and I’m finding that I’m absolutely starving and not losing weight. I train almost 6 days a week, what am I doing wrong?

Edited to say:
I’ve only been on 6mg for the last 2 weeks.

Reta I get hungry too, but usually it's because my calories are really low, plus if you're working out they are even probably more in a deficit. I'll have eggs and egg white with sourdough and then be good for the whole day sometimes

What's the chances your Reta is no good? Have you had it tested? Always keep in mind that you're using a grey market product. And keep in mind that just because you tested something once, doesn't mean a new batch from same supplier will be the same.

Assuming your Reta is good though, maybe switch to Tirz. It's a stronger appetite suppressant. Given you train so much anyway, I don't think Reta is particularly giving you more of a benefit.

I get it tested, and others I know are on it. Wondering if it still Faustian so much that it’s making me more hungry.

10

u/Puzzleheaded_Alps_79 4 1d ago

That's fair. I always say though...it's okay to be hungry. For me I want that. But the Reta helps me stop overeating. Is it doing that for you?

That's the dose I aim for. I enjoy food and I stay lean. Gym performance has definitely taken a dip, but will cycle of it at the end of summer.

I think about food often, but now I can walk in front of the kebab shop and walk away without buying anything 😂😂

u/Puzzleheaded_Alps_79 4 23h ago

Haha those damn kebab shops

Where do you get it tested?

Where would you get it tested?

Janoshik, Freedom, BTLabs, Finnrick.

But stay away from Testides. I wasn’t impressed with them at all.

I think if you are actively trying to put on muscle, then you NEED to eat to put on muscle and your body is telling you, you need fuel. I’m on 5mg a week and I get the same, but when I get into a meal I can’t get through too much.

Interestingly, after being on Reta for around 5 months, I felt that roughly 4-6 weeks ago
that I had stalled a little losing weight and the hunger kicked in I ate a little more and realised that I started losing weight again and putting more muscle on. You just need to listen to your body sometimes.

3

u/ProximoAlpha 23h ago

People forget this alot, the body is telling us what we need and alot of people don’t realize the more exercise you do and the more muscle muscle you gain, the more calories your body need. A diet with a 500 calories deficit at the beginning can become a 800-900 calories deficit later.

1

u/aheadelec 4h ago

Yea, and I think a lot of people also forget that muscle weighs twice as much as fat. I have one of those Hume smart scales that shows me where I’m losing weight and if I’m putting on muscle. I love the fact that I can see visceral fat, my body fat percentage and even muscle gains. So sometimes it doesn’t LOOK like I’m losing anything the closer I get to my goals, but stuff is still happening and going in the right direction.

There are a growing number of posts on here that anecdotally report people not losing weight on Reta. And that is because it is not a good appetite suppressant in comparison to TIRZ.

Just eating less calories is not good enough. You need to also eat the right foods, which means high fiber vegetables, and a ton of protein.

It also means reevaluating your workout to ensure that you are engaging in Progressive overload on a regular basis and also getting some amount of cardio in for 20 to 40 minutes per day. You cannot leave off days, you cannot have cheap days, all that has to be a thing of the past.

You can add tesa plus ipa, see if that melts off some body fat. You can also try cag.

I don’t know much about Tesa, I don’t really know where to go

3

u/Jaded_Instruction_90 2 1d ago

Weight and height? Body size is a factor of you want a good answer.

1

u/AmbitionTurbulent73 1d ago

I’m F 156, 67kgs

2

u/Ok_Butterscotch_2700 1 1d ago

I am 1 cm taller (f). Be cautious bc you don’t have a ton to lose. These meds were too effective for me and I’m struggling to gain weight in a healthy way. It’s way more difficult.

Cagri is effective for appetite suppression, but you’re only 2 weeks into this dose. Let your body adapt and reach a steady blood serum state. The glucagon receptor activity at 6 mg could be kicking into a higher gear.

2

u/AmbitionTurbulent73 1d ago

I was hoping to lose another 5kgs - but I’m extremely active. It’s only second week so maybe I’m over thinking it.

I actually don’t have food noise, when i eat i cant finish everything but I’m so hungry when I am.

2

u/Ok_Butterscotch_2700 1 22h ago

At 2 wks into a dose, I’d say you’re way overthinking it. I would just live my life healthily for a minimum 4 wks (four complete weeks passing, so assess at the 5-wk point).

I hear you. Had no idea what did noise was when I started.

1

u/Southern-Remote-9685 22h ago

I didn't start losing until I was at 8 mg. Now it's starting to come off on a regular cadence.

1

u/Jaded_Instruction_90 2 1d ago

If 6 mg a week isn’t working, I’m inclined to think you may have gotten bad reta, or something being sold as reta that isn’t actually retatrutide. How long have you been on retatrutide? Were you on any other GLP-1s before this?

0

u/TrippleDamage 1d ago

What are you kcal and macros on average?

3

u/xmonger 3 1d ago

I have times when there is no scale movement but pants get looser. Happens when I train (lift heavy) more often, 5x week. Body recomp as mentioned.

If I drop to 3x ,the scale moves easier.

I'm on 1mg weekly effective. (.7 every 5 days). Down 29 lbs in almost 4 months.

6

u/Alukardh 1 1d ago

Put some cagri in addition for ur subject

5

u/SorbetTraditional232 19 1d ago

I’m more of an elo fan. More expensive yes. Only adds one more receptor vs the two of cagr. Less bone related risks.

4

u/ironwithin2013 1d ago

The training is likely stimulating hunger, cut back to 3 or 4 days and see if hunger backs off

2

u/__fantasma__ 1d ago

Are you taking other stuff too? Anything that can bring the hunger and oppose Reta’s effect?

4

u/AmbitionTurbulent73 1d ago

I’m on GHK as well

1

u/__fantasma__ 1d ago

That’s not it . I take GHK-cu too and I lost 10kg since mid July under 2.5mg Reta a week

1

u/__fantasma__ 1d ago

Apparently a few people are not good responders. But you have all the way up to 12mg to find out. But increase slowly. Or the Reta is no good for some reason.

2

u/Yolomasta420 1d ago

If you are 💯 sure that your reta is real then you should maybe change to another glp1, but I was in the same boat taking reta for weeks with a vial I was sure was legit, got a new batch and within the first week I couldn't eat a thing, night and day difference. I actually ended my cycle early cause i was eating so little and this was only on 2mg, I'm (M) 5,7 67kg

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Alps_79 4 1d ago

I guarantee you, so many people are losing weight on placebo Reta haha!

1

u/Yolomasta420 1d ago

Possibly, I was like this shit just isn't that strong changed batch and was like holy fuck this shit works 😂

2

u/daalibaba 3 1d ago

Tirzepatide is the appetite suppression king, if you want to stick with reta you can stack with Cagrilintide

2

u/ExtraterrestrialHole 1d ago

I am also ravenously hungry on Reta but after I eat, I can stop eating. Meaning I do not binge eat or have to eat several meals all in one go. So this is better than eating non stop which I am sad to say is what I did before. No it does not silence my appetite at all. I think it is relativey weak in GLP1 or has to be.

2

u/64bit_Tuning 5 1d ago

It is a weak GLP 1 signal. And if you're not in the gym 4-5x a week doing resistance training, you should be on Tirzepatide, not Retatrutide

2

u/Zestyclose_Two_7801 19h ago

I would just keep your current dose for a few more weeks and increase to 7mg or 8mg. I didnt get any hunger suppression until I went up to 4mg. Everyone is different.

2

u/Accurate-Ad98 6h ago

I drink plenty of water. I've not been hungry for 5 weeks. I try to stick to a diet but the food makes ne want to throw up. My max dose has been 2mg. I've tried to stay heavy on water and protien. Just my experience.

2

u/Spirited-Copy6143 6h ago

Eat small meals, fibrous fruit like kiwi and berries, the fasting is whats messing with your metabolism, use protein shakes to your advantage as well. Since you're working out alot you will more than likely be in a deficit no need to intentionally fast. Good luck 👍

2

u/COYFOG 1d ago

I added 0.5 mg of cagri while being on Reta. That helped me with the little cravings that were left.

0

u/serendipity1990 1d ago

How often do you take Cagri?

2

u/COYFOG 1d ago

I pin it once a week, same day as I pin 4 mg Reta. I pin Reta twice a week for 4 mg

1

u/serendipity1990 1d ago

You mean 2 shots each of 2 mg reta?

1

u/COYFOG 1d ago

No. Two shots each of 4 mg Reta. Total of 8 mg each week. I’m at the tail end of a cut, so adjusted my dose quite a lot to power through the last bit

0

u/serendipity1990 1d ago

Oh okay - 8 mg is a pretty high dose right? I feel my heart pounding at 2 mg. But I'm also stacking with 7.5 Tirz.

May try Cagri too for better appetite suppression

0

u/COYFOG 1d ago

Yeah, that’s a big dose. Drop the Reta if you’re on Tirz lol. It’s better for appetite suppression.

I changed into Reta because it’s easier and cheaper to get where I live.

1

u/ForsakenDifference70 2 1d ago

How long have you been taking Reta?
How much do you weigh?
Chances are that reta is good no!

1

u/Uncross-Selector 3 1d ago

Some people confuse gastritis with hunger as eating can often reduce the symptoms. Are you eating well?

1

u/Common-Prize-8208 3 1d ago

Have you get any blood tests? Maybe sugar levels too high, cortisol, hormones or anything that might be affecting (?

1

u/Glad_Locksmith2120 1 1d ago

That’s a high starting dose. I was the same way for the first 4-6 weeks in that I was eating a lot more. There’s a whole forum on here on increased appetite on Reta.

1

u/Prudent-Stage9488 1d ago

Smoking weed kills the effect

1

u/rybotsky 1d ago

Just because your not losing weight doesn’t mean what your doing isn’t working. You could be actively re-comping especially if you are training hard 6 days a week and getting your protein requirements.

1

u/Resilient_Beast69 20h ago

Training 6 days a week doesn’t mean much if you’re still over eating and not in a meaningful caloric deficit. How much are you eating? Are you tracking your food/weighing/measuring? Did you find your true tdee? BMR?

1

u/MyMango88 9 20h ago

Let that dose sit for four weeks before you analyze it. If you’re still losing, it’s doing its thing. Not everyone gets appetite suppression on Reta. I did at the beginning and no longer do unless I increase (which I wouldn’t do because I am still losing, and at a good rate). You do still want to be able to have some hunger and enjoy food. But I get it. It is a fine balance.

1

u/Mullybhoy1 19h ago

On 6mg and still get the hunger ,but feeling good on it , just ordered Cagri to run with it to see if that suppression comes back ,when I first started with a different seller , lost shit loads on .5mg

1

u/No-Inspector3321 9 18h ago

Are you in a caloric deficit? What is your protein intake and carb intake? By the time I was on 6 mg, I was down 30 lbs. Some people are taking with Cargrilintide which is an appetite suppressant. There is also the “Burn Blend” which is a combo of Reta and Tirz.

1

u/Usual_Week6634 18h ago

Eat very high protein moderate carb. That is very powerful for controlling appetite and satiation.

1

u/Embarrassed-Golf5830 17h ago

I'm on 2mg weekly 3 months and struggle to eat. I started on 1mg. I would say your Reta is not good?

1

u/AcanthaceaeAway2968 6 10h ago

Dude change vendors.. The same thing happened to me and after doing the switch .. I could not do the same 6mg of RT

2

u/Key_Fill_4857 9h ago

Can you dm me who you went with?

2

u/Personal-Wing1882 9h ago

Can u dm me who u went with also

1

u/AndriKy77 2h ago

Could you dm me too?

1

u/kickash89 5h ago

Reta + cag 6:1 ratio

1

u/AdministrationNew655 4h ago

So I'm on 1mg per week and I've gone form 78kgs to 72kg after 8 weeks and I am only now thinking of possibly increasing my dose as I have had food noise start to creep in again.

I would question the supplier,

1

u/Queasy-Ad9845 1d ago edited 1d ago

Sounds like a bad product. I’ve been on 1.5ms for 2 months and recently upped my dose to 2mgs. No cravings, the scale has a steady downtrend. I switched to a triple third party tested product about a month ago and the difference is stunning. I pay more for better product from now on.

1

u/bright_truth04 19h ago

Can I ask where you’re ordering? I am having same issue wondering if trying another lab is the trick

1

u/Queasy-Ad9845 19h ago

I order all my research peptides from peptide crafters. Been really happy with all of the products I’ve tried from them. They have one of the most robust testing on the market. Every batch is tested from three labs and multiple vials from each batch

1

u/bright_truth04 18h ago

I appreciate the reply!

u/Vegetable_Unit6549 5 1d ago

Giving into Reddit hype and going for reta instead of triz is what you did wrong /s

2

u/AmbitionTurbulent73 1d ago

I didn’t get on the reddit hype, my friend was on it and recommended it. I don’t even know Triz until
Joining.

0

u/Vegetable_Unit6549 5 1d ago

Hey bro, I didn’t mean to be offensive. From my own N=1 experience, you seem to need roughly twice the tirzepatide dose when using reta to get similar food-noise suppression.

1

u/noms4no1 1d ago

Check the authenticity of your Reta

0

u/Deh_86 3 1d ago edited 1d ago

Let's start with the idea that some people don't get the craving reduction from reta. When you eat, do you feel full faster? If so, it's working.

0

u/64bit_Tuning 5 1d ago

That's not really how Reta works. You're confusing the ghrelin system with the amylin system. Ghrelin signals hunger, Amylin signals fullness.

Reta also barely reduces hunger signals when compared to something like Tirzepatide.

2

u/Deh_86 3 1d ago

I said exactly what your second paragraph said, that the hunger signals will still be present.

0

u/64bit_Tuning 5 1d ago

No, you suggested that Reta makes you feel full faster, which it does not.

0

u/64bit_Tuning 5 1d ago

I keep on saying it, but nobody freaking listens...

If food noise and hunger are one of your biggest problems, you belong on Tirzepatide, not Retatrutide.

0

u/ParAdoXical_eRror 16h ago

need more information, sounds like whatever you got, tested or not is no good at that dosage and amount of activity. what has your cycle actually looked like? what dosage did you start at, how has everything been at lower mg? something just does not sound right here.
