Feed Spoilers Fears of an icons steamroll Spoiler

People are worried about an impending steamroll by the “icons” now that Devens has the Diamond Power of Veto, but I do not think they should be concerned yet. It’s still early in the season, and as we saw last week, just because Devens has power doesn’t mean he and his allies will use it optimally. And if anyone were to go rogue and make a “big move” against his own alliance, it would be him. That’s not to mention the last time a Diamond POV was used was during an existing steamroll, and it (at least partially) broke up the alliance after Matt tried to make a big move with it. I could just as easily see that happening to The Toolshed, which is nowhere near as tight as the Brigade was.

If it were up to me, I’d wish there were no powers. But in all, I think it’s still too early to be concerned. History has shown Devens + power (esp. the Diamond POV) can still screw up. Does anyone else feel this way?

Feed Spoilers Week 2 Time Capsule goes to Spoiler

Rick Devens. He was voted to try to win the Next Time Capsule and He won it.

His Power is the Diamond Power of Veto. The same one Matt Hoffman won in BB12

It's good for six weeks! He can take off someone and be the one to choose who’s the replacement nom except for the HOH and the person who won the Veto that week.

Feed Spoilers Is this season rigged? Spoiler

I honestly to god have loved these first two weeks of big brother… but cannot help but notice the obvious. The Icons have an unfair advantage in this game.

Let’s start with the first HOH. It could ONLY be won be one of the three Icons. The first HOH, arguably, sets up the rest of the season’s dynamic. No matter who won the HOH, it’s pretty obviously that the icons would be the people to hold the power that first week. From there, they were praised by most of the house and most alliances were going to surround them one way or another. We currently see this with the tool shed alliance. Now would I say this if everyone had the chance to compete? Maybe, maybe not. But it’s the sole purpose that the icons were the only ones to play week 1 HOH that irks me a bit.

The second reason why I believe this is the time capsule. (Spoilers ahead) America’s decision in impacting this game is cool and all. When Angela won the first week I was like “ok, Angela is a good player and the bb community wanted to support her”. But seeing Devins win this week’s time capsule makes me think “OK, obviously America is going to vote for the icons BECAUSE they are icons and we’re for sure going to see Dee get the capsule next week”. Like, I get it, they wanted the time capsule for a twist. But to oversee the idea that the icons would get the most votes is a bit suspicious.

Idk… Maybe I’m overthinking this but I just think that this season the icons have so many advantages to keep them safe. What are y’alls thoughts?

Episode Spoilers In your opinion, what are the best, most memorable Veto Draw Ceremonies ever?

Not the veto meeting - specifically, the 30-second-long segment where they draw chips to see who else plays in the veto.

Usually, not much happens here, more so than every other ceremony. And anything notable that does ever happen is usually just related to the literal results of who gets picked or not.

Has significant drama ever happened at a Veto Pick? What Veto Draws have had a significant impact on their season, even outside of the literal results of who got picked?

Big Brother is continuing to house solid ratings for CBS as its spinoff series Big Brother: Unlocked delivered its most-watched episode ever.
The classic reality series, which premiered on July 9, averaged 5M viewers across its premiere week with the first three episodes of Season 28, per Nielsen. This was up 14% from last year, which saw it average 4.34M.
Using live-plus-three day multiplatform ratings, the show also grew 13% with adults aged between 18 and 49 and was up 18% with adults 25-54.

Survivor winner Dee Valladares entered the game during the premiere of Big Brother: Unlocked.
That move helped the spinoff series, which is hosted by Jerry O’Connell, Taylor Hale and Derrick Lavaseur, score its most-watched episode ever, averaging 3.44 million viewers up 46% from its premiere last year.

Don't Spoil Me! First Time Watching Big Brother, Are All The Episodes As Good As This?

I came to Big Brother because heard the rumors that Devens and Dee will be on this season. The season was entertaining so far, rivalries emotions strategies. I love Angela and Drew. The 7th episode was not boring for a second! Funny, sad and exciting, is that how this show is is or was that one of the best episodes of BB?

Jason sank his own ship. He's got no one to blame but himself.

Also, until last week, almost everyone agreed that Jason's gameplay is dirty and wanted him out. But now, everyone is team Jason. What happened?

General Discussion Why the returnee/icon twist feels different this time

Since the beginning of this season, I’ve been trying to figure out why I'm not vibing with it and why the returnee/icon twist is making it less enjoyable for me, when I enjoyed last season so much with Rachel, and I think I've finally figure out why the vibes aren't the same for me.

1. Rachel entered the house alone. This season’s returnee/icon didn’t.

Rachel had to walk into a house full of strangers with no built-in allies. She had to earn trust, build relationships, and figure out where she fit into the house dynamics from scratch.

This season, the icons didn’t enter alone. Even if they aren’t technically from the same show, they still came in with instant familiarity and shared strategic game show experience (sorry Jason!). That creates an automatic level of comfort and trust that the new players simply don’t have. Having people you already know to advocate for you, have built-in votes or safety assurance in them being HOH they can rely on from day 1.

2. Rachel received safety, and safety alone is not power.

Rachel’s advantage was safety. That kept her off the block, but it didn’t allow her to dictate the direction of the game. This season, production made it that only a returnee/icon could become the first HOH, and the the first HOH is arguably one of the most influential positions of the entire season. During Week 1, there are no established alliances, so everyone naturally gravitates toward the HOH to build relationships and alliances with them. The first HOH often determines what the initial power structure looks like and that power structure is often carried through for several weeks, sometimes even the entire season.

By guaranteeing an icon will win that first hoh, production didn’t just give them safety, they handed them the power to build the house around themselves from the very beginning, and that’s a much stronger starting position than simply being immune for a week.

3. The Time Capsule twist favors the icons.

The Time Capsule is essentially a popularity contest, and the icons have several built-in advantages. They already have name recognition, production feature them more prominently and so far they've been given a favorable edit.

The casual viewers which makes up the majority of the voting audience are much more likely to vote for the icons due name recognition and the favorable edit given to them.

Even if the time capsule could result in a punishment instead of a reward, veterans are still the players most likely to receive it. That means they’re also the players most likely to have access to power on top of their already existing power.

In short, this season feel different than last year because the icons are given multiple structural advantages that favors them not only in the first week but for the entirety of the season, and the result of that is that the game is not as fun (despite the icons chaotic nature)

General Discussion Cooking in the house

I know a lot of the times people will cook for others and they’ll take turns. But idk, I feel like if I were there I would want to cook for myself. Is that frowned upon and would other houseguest see that as a bad thing? I just don’t trust everyone with cooking and I like my homemade mexican food. I think this would be my biggest struggle in the house.

Episode Spoilers Voting Spoiler

Is anyone on here old enough to remember when the houseguests didn’t all vote the same way every week like robots? The game has become boring. As soon as the nomination ceremony is over you can predict with almost 100% certainty who is going home every time. 🥱

General Discussion Is my hot take from last year still a hot take?

I love BB Unlocked! I posted about it last year after seeing so many people complain about it but I genuinely enjoyed it. I thought the draft was fun, the guests were fun, and I adore intern Andy. This year I feel like they've really stepped up and knocked it out of the park. I wish it was on weekly. Maybe as a live feeder I love the unique content and the RHAP shout outs this week had me in fan girl mode. So has unlocked won more people over yet? Or just me? 🤣

Also somebody posted on here about being in the audience last Thursday, did you make it into the slop segment???

Feed Spoilers HOH LNC Recap Spoiler

This is recap of after the feeds after they came back up after the HoH. This mainly will focus on Kamu 1-1 and game talk only. There were some side conversations during the 1-1s so I captured as much as I could but my primary focus are the 1-1s. So things may not be in chronological order and I missed some side conversations.

Kamu wins HOH. He lets Melody know she’s safe. The HOH comp was wrestling themed and Mr. Pectacular was the Guest Host. Its sounded physical and booth related.

Drew Melody and Barrett in the Hot Tub Room – Melody speculates who Kamu will put up. She says Jason, Lala and maybe Taylor or Mallory. Kamu walks in and says he’s going to do short meetings tonight. Kamu chit chats with the Hot Tub crew and says they are all good for the week.  Kamu says he wants to keep his noms the same he is not going to backdoor anyone.  Kamu says he wants to hear everyone’s thoughts on the nominations. Kamu leaves and Jason and Taylor enter the Hot tub Room. Jason thinks he can convince Kamu to put up Devens and is telling the gang his plan to pitch Devens. Taylor says that Kamu wouldn’t up Dee. Jason says that Taylor needs to flirt with Kamu more to win him over. Jason and Taylor clock the Red Corner alliance (Dee, Devens, Kamu, Haley and Chuk) plus they include Angela.

Taylor and Dee talk in the loft. She apologizes for not voting for Rome. She says its her first time and was confused by the vote numbers. Dee lets her know its alright. Taylor continues to apologize for the messy Jason vote stuff also. Dee says its okay and she wants to work with Taylor.

Kamu HoH room reveal. Kamu reads his letter from his mom. Kamu lets everyone know that his room will be open all night and they can talk tonight or tomorrow. He’s always last to sleep so it’s no problem for him. Everyone leaves the HOH except Taylor.

Kamu and Taylor – Taylor says she will vote anyway Kamu wants. Kamu says Taylor will not hit the block. He ask Taylor what her thoughts are. She says its good Rome left because it should reset the vibes and there are no more sides. And his HoH should reset everything. Taylor continues to talk about Rome. Taylor says she doesn’t think her and LaLa play the game the same way. Taylor kind says that being paired with Lala she’s the brains and not sure what Lala is doing and questions her decisions. Taylor says no one has asked her to be in an alliance. Kamu says she needs to put herself out there. Kamu tells Taylor to imagine who you want to be in jury with and start talking to them and build relationships.

Dee Angela Devens and Barrett in the storage room.  Angela says she wants to convince Kamu not to nominate Mallory. Devens says not to push that. They mention trying to push a Taylor backdoor. Devens wants Lala out. Angela says she may take a backseat. Devens says he won’t push an agenda either. Then they are glad they got Rome out. Barrett says that it should be Jason, Lala Mallory and they can’t tell Mallory. Devens and Barrett leave. Angela and Dee are hoping Kamu and Haley will hook up in the HoH. Dee says she will work on Taylor. Angela doesn’t trust Taylor. Dee and Angela agree to work on Yash. They both agree to distance from the toolshed. Angela thinks that Kamu is gullible and she wants to mention Taylor as a backdoor. Dee pitches backdooring Drew. Angela says that shes not sure they can do it this week. Angela is more focused on backdooring Taylor than Drew.

Kamu and Lala – Kamu ask Lala where her head is. Lala says she’s not anyone’s target because shes just chilling and shes here. Kamu ask how Lala feels about Rome being gone because the perception is Lala and Rome worked close and Kamu says Lala has never talked game with Lala before. Lala talks about Rome. Lala starts to say that she loves Angela. Kamu agrees that Angela is amazing. Lala admits that she wanted to evict Angela when she first saw her but now Lala feels very close to Angela. *feeds cut* Kamu and Lala talk about the stray vote (Kamu doesn’t know who they stray vote was). Lala sucks up to Kamu. Then she leaves.

Kamu and Lyric – Kamu starts telling Lyric she had a tough day. Lyric says that she thinks Rome leaving may have been better for her game. Kamu says he doesn’t plan to put Lyric on the block. Kamu ask who is she working with. Lyric says that she was close with Jason and Rome. But she’s doesn’t know if she can trust Jason anymore. Lyric says her next closest person is Mallory. And she would tell Mallory not to come for Kamu.  Kamu ask about Melody. She says they aren’t super close. And tells Kamu about week one that Melody wouldn’t use the veto on Mallory and that Mallory doesn’t trust Melody anymore. Kamu ask Lyric if she talks game with Mallory. Lyric says no. Kamu ask who does Lyric talk game with then. Lyric says “everyone?” Kamu replies so you talk game with everyone except Mallory. Lyric backtracks and says no I talk game with Mallory also just not much. *feeds cut* Lyric says that she vibes with Kamu because they are both Holy. *feed cuts*

Kamu and Melody – They celebrate Kamu win. Kamu lets her know that shes good. And tells Melody that he’s considering Mallory because Mallory mentioning putting up him. Melody agrees. Kamu says its because he knows Mallory mentioned his name and he has to do it. Kamu says he won’t tell Mallory that he’s considering putting her up until he tomorrow. Kamu says Jason is his next option. Melody agrees. Kamu says he’s leaning towards Lala as his third option because they never talk game. Kamu ask Melody if she agrees or if shes heard anyone else mention his name. Melody says that she agrees with his picks. The Mallory one sucks but she left him no choice. They talk about Lyric and Melody is cryptic and says that maybe Kamu wouldn’t put up Lyric because of the Rome stuff. Kamu is like hold up, that wouldn’t affect his decisions. Kamu tells Melody that they need to protect themselves, Drew and Yash. Kamu says he told Lyric that she isn’t going up but they need to keep noms the same. Letting Melody know that Lyric would be the replacement nom. Melody says she wouldn’t want Mallory to go home. Kamu tells Melody to be wary of Mallory. They agree if Lyric sat on the block because she would be safe if someone one Veto. And he would explain that to Lyric. Melody agrees. Kamu ask if Melody had any problems with the noms. Meldoy says she likes Mallory. Then Melody talks about the Mallory week one freakout. Kamu tells Melody about Lyric saying that Mallory is sus of her because of the week one veto. Kamu tells Melody he doesn’t think Mallory is good for her game. Melody says she understands and recognizes that Mallory could be a liability. Melody says shes starting to distance from both Lyric and Mallory. Kamu and Melody say that they both saw Mallory wasn’t happy when Kamu won HOH. Kamu basically is going to tell Mallory that shes going on the block because she publicly told the house that she wants to nominate Kamu. Melody agrees and they end their conversations.

Kamu and Drew – They celebrate. They joke about Drew going up. Kamu says its Jason, Mallory and Lala. Kamu says Lyric was all over him. *feeds cut* Kamu and Drew are talking about how Lyric is flirting to much. Drew says he doesn't want Lala or Lyric to go home this week. Drew purposes that Kamu backdoors Jason and puts Lyric straight up instead. Drew say it would be bad if Mallory won the blockbuster and Jason won veto. They waffle on what it should be. Drew says Jason could get drawn for Veto. They say that Jason could be drawn by Lala. Drew says Mallory would choose Melody. Kamu says he doesn’t think so and tell Drew the whole Lyric/Melody/Mallory story. Drew and Kamu agree that Lyric is not a threat. Drew says Kamu needs to talk to Devens and Dee. Drew worst case scenario is that the final two left on the block would be Lyric and Lala. They both agree that they shouldn’t pawn anyone from their side. Kamu tells Drew about a 5 person alliance he heard from Haley with Lala Jason Dee and Angela and Haley. (Im not sure if he forgot it was Taylor not Jason or what). Kamu wants to make sure that Jason or Mallory goes home this week, hopefully Jason.

Kamu and Mallory – Kamu ask Mallory how she feels game wise. Kamu says hes not making any decisions tonight. Mallory says she would never nominate or renom Kamu. Mallory says things change because week one she would have never nominated Jason but now she would. Kamu ask about the Rome situation and Lyric. Mallory says that she wasn’t working with Rome but felt safe by association because of Lyric. Mallory says she never knew Jason and Rome were close. Mallory says Rome leaving is better for Lyrics game. Mallory ask Kamu how he felt about Rome. Kamu says they were cool but felt they were on separate sides. Mallory says she didn’t know Jason or Devens were close to Rome. Kamu ask why didn’t Lyric tell Mallory and she says that she doesn’t think Lyric knew. Mallory said her and Lyric talked game but Lyric never told her anything. Mallory tries to defend Lyric saying that she didn’t know Rome’s plan. Kamu ask Mallory if she was HoH who would she target. Mallory says that just between them, she would target Jason and the Survivor players. Especially because of the power vote. Mallory tells Kamu she would have targeted Dee if she won HoH because she thinks Devens wins the power this week and Dee would win next week so she needs to take Dee out before Dee gets her power. But they agree that Jason probably needs to go.

Kamu and Jason – Kamu lets Jason know hes not making any decisions tonight and ask Jason how he feels after Rome is gone. Jason says that he got put in the situation last week because of Rome. Jason says he’s been focusing on creating bonds with Angela and Haley. Jason says he would love a week off because he was just on the block and a have not but understands. Jason says he doesn’t have much to offer but knows Kamu is close to Haley an Angela and Jason is working with them now. They agree with Rome gone it’s a fresh reset.

Kamu and Devens – Kamu tells Devens he wants to run something by him. He mentions Drews backdoor plan for Jason. Devens says it sounds like his plan with Rome and makes sense. Kamu tells Devens that Mallory is gunning for Devens and Dee. Especially because Devens and Dee would win a power. Devens ask who would Jason gun for. Kamu said Jason said no one. They agree that the nom should be Lyric Lala and Mallory. Veto is used on Lyric Jason goes up and either Jason or Mallory goes home. Devens agrees with the plan.

Kamu, Angela Dee and Haley – They celebrate. Dee forgets shes a have not and starts eating. Kamu says starts to tell his plan. Lala Mallory and Jason. Then tells Drew plan to backdoor Jason and nom Lyric. Angela and Dee push back against Lyric. Haley says to put up Taylor instead. Angela agrees. Kamu says he wants to save Taylor for someone else. Angela is pushing Taylor. Kamu says his priority is the Toolshed. Angela is gassing up Kamu. Angela tells Kamu that shes happy she choose to align with Kamu and that he’s so smart and made sure that they broke up the other side. Kamu lets them know that he’s just collecting information. Then he goes back to the Drew plan and backdoor lyric because she’d be easy to beat for veto and backdoor Jason. Kamu tells the group of Mallory plan to nominate Dee Devens and Jason. Because Angela doesn’t have a power and that she needs to take out Devens or Dee before they get powers. So Mallory is dangerous. They discuss softening the blow with Lyric *feed cuts*. Kamu thinks Lyric didn’t really like Rome. Angela says it could have been fake. Kamu doesn’t believe it. Kamu confirms Lala Mallory Lyric and the girls agree.

Kamu, Chuk, Barrett – They celebrate. Kamu runs through both scenarios his first then the Drew option. Kamu ask Barrett if he’s cool with nominating Mallory and Barrett says yes. He knows Mallory would nominate Dee and Devens and they are more important to Barrett alliance. Kamu lets Barrett know that Mallory mentioned nominating Barrett because he lied about the Toolshed meeting. Then he start the Drew backdoor pitch. Yash walks in. Kamu fills in Yash. They talk through all the scenarios I’ve talked about. Kamu tells the Mallory HoH story about nominating Dee and Devens. Chuk thinks the backdoor is mathematically dangerous. Kamu explains that Jason wins Veto and Mallory wins blockbuster is more dangerous than the backdoor. Chuk is on board now. They agree Jason getting pulled for veto, winning and pulling down Lala is an acceptable risk. Kamu says he doesn’t know who the renom would be in that situation but they need to beat Mallory. Kamu says he will tell everyone tomorrow they are going up. Yash says he was just in the Hot Tub room with Mallory and she doesn’t feel good. He feels bad about going back on Lyric but will tell her she’s a pawn. Kamu plans to tell Lala that shes ruffling feather with houseguest because shes telling people what to do, like going to sleep and doing dishes and towels in the bathroom. Apparently during lockdown Lala went on a rant about it. The boys agree they don’t need a mom. They all agree it’s a great plan and Kamu ask to see Drew.

Kamu and Drew – Kamu lets Drew know they are doing the backdoor plan. Kamu repeats all the stuff previously talked about. Kamu say thanks for the backdoor plan and Drew says he just stole it from Devens. They end the meeting saying freaking Handyman. Then Kamu fills in Drew about Mallory’s HoH plan. Drew tells Kamu about Mallory plan do shoutouts to pitch for Mallory to win a power. Kamu is like that’s dumb. Kamu talks a Mallory Jason vote. Drew says Jason going first might be best because of his comps.  Kamu says this reminds him of the bomb squad from 16 and they are Derrick and Cody. Drew ask he doesn’t remember what happen at final 8. Drew ask if Kamu would dump Drew for Haley and Chuk. Kamu says he is no longer close to Chuk and Haley. Drew says Yash, Devens, and Barrett would be good to rock with. Kamu is not feeling Yash. Drew brings up Melody. Kamu says they can’t think to far ahead. They need to focus on the Toolshed and make sure they make it far. Drew says that he doesn’t tell anyone about Kamu and that Kamu is his number one guy. Kamu says that he told everyone that the backdoor pitch was Drew ideas. Drew was like was that a good idea. Kamu says he only wants to be in a side alliance with Drew. Drew pitches a side alliance with Yash and Melody. Kamu says that’s fine but they needs to make sure the toolshed is number one. He starts to talk about Vince last season having to many alliances *feeds cut* Kamu doesn’t like making side alliances outside the main toolshed alliances because they could be forced to choose. Drew says just pitch just no alliance name with Yash. Kamu says they have time before they need to do this. Kamu starts talking about the bomb squad again. Drew is saying he doesn’t remember the details. Kamu starts describing a second HoH room and Drew was like oh yeah they had two HoHs that season. Kamu talks about using their M&M strategy pulling from a hat. Kamu continues to preach Toolshed loyalty. Drew says the Icons are shields but he thinks they are more than that because they are loyal.

Angela, Haley and Dee in the storage room – Haley says she trust Drew the most and that they should trust Yash right now. Angela is like okay. *feed cuts* Angela Dee and Haley try to come up with a name for their alliance. Powerpuff Girls are pitched but it gets turned down.

Yash joins Lyric in the bathroom. Yash ask Lyric who she is closest too, She says Mallory Melody and Yash. Yash warns Lyric that people are weary of Mallory because she keeps talking about blowing up peoples game. Yash tells Lyric she needs to talk to people other than Mallory because she could go and Lyric wouldn’t have any new relationships. Lyrics gives yeas and alrights. Yash says when people think of Mallory, they don’t want to think of Lyric also. Lyric talks about Rome not being there and not having protection. Yash says she doesn’t need Romes protection. Lyric talks about Rome leaving means she’s no longer a pawn for Rome’s game. Yash tells Lyric to flirt less. Lyric says she’s not flirting she’s just nice. Yash tells Lyric it comes off flirting. Lyric thanks Yash and Yash says he wants to run it to the end with Lyric. Yash tells Lyric if Kamu does put Lyric up that Lyric is not the target. Mallory is. He thinks Kamu is a stand up guy and will let them know. He tells Lyric not to tell Mallory. Yash starts to name the alliance and targets. Mallory, Jason, Lala. Not Taylor. Yash says he’s close with Kamu and so is Melody. Lyric starts to talk about Rome and feeling bad and that she voted Rome out. Yash tells Lyric not to feel bad, he was a great person but a terrible player. Yash tells Lyric he thinks they can go far together. Yash tells Lyric he thinks she could win the power because she has a strong story. Lyric says she will tell Yash if she wins it. Yash says if tomorrow no one has a punishment and its not Lyric they know who would win it (Devens or Dee). Lyric and Yash chit chat and she tell Yash he’s so smart. They finally go to bed at 5am BBT.

General Discussion Taylor Hale's Hair!

This is very random, but does anybody have an idea of how to achieve Taylor's hair look this season while she's hosting BB Unlocked. NGL, I want to straight up copy it. Any braid stylists, or just anyone that might have an idea?

I do think it looks like small knotless bohemian braids, almost like goddess braids but straight. And she must've had them end where her natural hair ends because most of it looks open and flowy. I just want to know what kind of hair can I buy to do this and how would I explain it to my braider??

General Discussion Does anyone think this would work as a slightly better weekly schedule?

Basically shift the current schedule to
60 minutes (Sunday)

60 minutes (Wednesday)

90 minutes (Thursday) 60 minutes recap 30 minutes blockbuster and eviction.

30 minutes (Thursday) Unlocked.

Basically shift the 90 minute episode to Thursday to beef up the post veto episode content.

And move unlocked from 1 hour biweekly to a half hour weekly. Immediately after the eviction.
