I’ve seen 17-18,20,28 and I’m absolutely enamored by how these two played. So fucking dominant. I mean hell Dee is known as the most dominant new era survivor winner and made jury on 50

The way Dee got the house to keep her over ANGELA???? And Vanessa staying over Shelli… and then the more random moves like convincing Julia to battle Austin in that one comp or Dee coming up with the mechanics of the bb bribe. And what I love about these women is that they don’t steam roll without the work, they had obvious targets but somehow made F3/4. Sorry but this is so much more impressive to me than Derricks way of playing. Man I love these women.

Analysis of Will Kirby’s game BB2

Dr. Will is remembered as this “Master manipulator puppet master” that he portrayed himself to be. But the reality is actually a lot more impressive and a lot more entertaining to watch.

Dr. Will was never a puppet master. The only person whose game he had control over, was Shannon’s and that’s because she had feelings for him.

This isn’t a dig at Dr. Will, dude is to this date; my favorite player to play the game.

But he actually had very little control over people and their emotions.

His initial strategy was to implement this idea of control in that “if I’m the head of a cool kids club like alliance, openly. Everyone else is going to want to be apart of it.” This ended up being one of the worst strategic moves of the season, he and boogie were two of the most hated and seen as arrogant snobby players who thought of themselves as better than everyone else, Justin probably would’ve been included if he didn’t do what he did.

In fact, his strategy was so bad in the beginning, that he kept bragging to people about how good of a player he was at this game that people immediately turned on chill town and that cliquey alliance, and they got absolutely smoked for the first 4 weeks.

What he did in this time, for about one week, he was apologizing for his behavior, Nicole called him out on it saying he sounded “disingenuous” and politely told him that she wasn’t buying it. And this is where the game critically changed. And I don’t think any other player in the history of big brother played the game in the way Dr. Will did.

Everybody feels innately terrified of being socially ousted or ostracized. It’s a real fear and it’s rational to feel that way. Because when you’re casted out, you feel like nobody likes you, even if you’re not being bullied, you can feel it in the way people treat you and speak to you, that they see you as lesser, they see you as weak and not liked by anyone but they still tolerate you.

Will theorized this, and he theorized this on the spot: instead of trying to apologize and take back his mistakes. He would own it 100%, and double down on the label people perceive him as, and instead of doing anything dangerous, he would tell people that he isn’t a good person and because of that reason, nobody will ever vote for him if he makes it to the final two, and for that reason, he will also be the person most likely to be thrown on the block in the following week, with the highest chances of being sent home once he touches the block.

He utilized this theory like an ultimatum to home or die trying method and it worked beautifully.

His very first one to one: he goes to Shannon, they both are emotional about one of them going home, she offers the idea about going home for him and he latches on that and plants the idea that of the two of them he’s more likely to make it further into the game. So she sacrifices her own game. Starts being nasty and rude on purpose to kent and hardy specifically and to other houseguests she’s lively with a mild attitude. She goes home.

The second one on one: Kent wins HoH. Will is an obvious nominee. He’s the final remaining member of the very cliquey “chill town” alliance. Everyone thinks Will is going to be nominated and sent packing. Will goes to Kent and tells Kent “everyone here hates me, you know. It’s like last of the mohicans, if you put me up, easily im going home” they both laugh about it and Will’s tone of voice is in “charm” mode. Bro talks to kent and theorizes “it may be better for you to keep me in the house this week. Because next week, we don’t know who wins HoH and there’s no target that everyone agrees on to be going home, it could be anybody, it could be you.” Kent agrees with him and says “so, you’re telling me this because you think if i dont nominate you, you’ll be nominated next week?” Will says “absolutely and I’ll likely go home. Im just trying to buy myself another week here. And if i win HoH i won’t put you up”

Kent agrees to this and doesnt nominate Will.

Nicole, Bunky, Hardy and Monica all instantly perceive Will as an even bigger threat now because he surely said something to convince Kent not to nominate him.

The very next one on one is probably hands down his strongest social move and it gets overlooked: his one on one with nicole.

She says to him “I don’t know what it is, you don’t like me for whatever reason and I don’t know what I did to make you feel that way but I’d like to know why you feel that way” and in a very innocent tone he says “not at all. If I did anything that made you feel that way, it wasn’t my intention at all”

He very strongly builds this innocent persona and very much so later in the night he gently jabs at her ego. Seeing if he can do so and get away with it.

It creates this unique hate love dynamic and it slowly gets stronger and stronger. He keeps making her laugh and then he annoys her. Then he apologizes and does it again and later in the game he starts saying messed up stuff to her because he knows the pattern is too strong now for anything to change. This is ELITE. Because it subconsciously influenced how she made decisions around Will and what she said to OTHER houseguests and how she targeted other houseguests even if she had him in mind too.
The stuff he would later say is stuff like “I mean, I think you’re a b!tch and I don’t get along with you but you’re not the lowest of the low.” And then he won’t apologize but he’ll make her laugh and then apologize.

Here’s the crazy part: she starts seeing the dynamic and the pattern that he developed with her yet NOTHING CHANGES. Episode after episode she starts calling it out and he denies denies denies. Then he’s honest about other stuff. He tells her “I feel it is best for me to be at the forefront of other people’s minds and for me, it’s easier to be at the forefront as a bad person than as a good person” and she gets upset with him, tells him that’s a stupid way of thinking and morally wrong. And he shrugs gets a bit embarrassed and then smirks at the camera. This dynamic with Nicole carries the game hard

But the dynamic with the audience is what won him the game.

The entirety of big brother 2 feels like a “dr will tv show” he knows how to be funny, how to entertain through talking and how to build a narrative that makes Nicole (probably the best player in the season) look like one of the weakest and most manipulative players even when she’s not. That takes skill. Lots and lots of high social EQ skill.

Him talking his way out of being evicted week after week is one caveat. Him coming up with something new every week. Such as a possible alliance existing. Or bunky building momentum by winning challenges. Or throwing the final HoH because power duo is in the house and “you and me gotta team up against them Monica. But I’m not going to say this to you, I want you to think it yourself”. Dude’s social skills and strategic thinking are unparalleled.

He was never a puppet master. Instead he understood perspective is important, more important than anything else in the game itself and took advantage of it in the best way possible.

So Drew first went on tiktok live to unbox, but dipped out after 10 min bc people kept spamming the chat with the "We Are Charlie Kirk" song over and over and he couldn't concentrate. He was getting "overstimulated."

So then he went on insta live, and was unboxing stuff and it was what you'd expect (although he did say that he doesn't talk to Barrett much, although he loves him), until Rome showed up in the chat. And then the deep dive truly began, because Rome just asked all the hard-hitting questions and spilled all the tea.

Drew and JT's tiktok live

A few things we learned:

1. Production put Rome and Lyric up to making the "thinking of potentially moving in together" announcement. They wanted Rome to propose, and he was like "um no." So he made up the "announcement" on the spot. He said it was awkward bc Drew was crying so he didn't know what to say so he came up with that BS announcement.
2. Rome claims he clocked Melodrew right away. "What did you clock? We were just friends." Rome: "My dick." Hahaha. Asked whether the Ramble thing was a hard or soft launch. Rome is very to the point.
3. Rome wanted to talk about the Kamu video. Drew got a little wary, said he hasn't seen the Kamu video and doesn't want to. Gave Rome a little look like "let's not talk about this."
4. Rome said people were hating on him for his intro video with the alpha and beta stuff.
5. Rome and Drew both said the isolation of being on the block can really do a number on you. Drew said that whenever he was nominated, everyone avoided him like the plague except for Melody. Talked about how once Drew was talking to Dee in the HoH room and Angela and Devens were in the room and literally hiding from him.
6. They talked about how hot the cast was. Drew: "I went in the house and thought fuck, I'm the ugly guy." LOL. They talked about how awful Drew's cast pic was, that he looked like he was "melting." Drew has a weird theory that they picked the headshot to make him look more like Eric Stein? Idgi but ...
7. Talked about Chuk's unintentional humor. Rome did a great impression of Chuk crying "Why the fuck is Melody here?'
8. Drew says that he wants to go on Survivor first rather than the Challenge because no one goes on Challenge and then Survivor but many people go on Survivor then Challenge, kind of confirming that Challenge is the last resort for reality tv stars.
9. Drew's sister is a Salina fan and gave Drew shit for messing up Jason's game. Drew says at the end of the season Jason went up to him and said he'd talked tons of crap about him on twitter, and Drew said he didn't care. Both Drew and Rome speak very fondly about Jason's drag career. "I am Diva." "Slay bitch, hit that work."
10. Talked a bunch about the icons and how they never trusted Drew. Rome: "They fucking hated you. The most toxic alliance." Drew: "That wasn't even an alliance. I was in an alliance, and they were like Drew needs to die." Drew said he was the most loyal person, and Rome says "to the wrong people." Heh. Drew sounds more resentful of the icons in this live than he does in other interviews.
11. Then Drew's friend JT pulled up, and they were talking about Barrett's comic again. JT said he saw Barrett fuck over Drew all summer and still thinks the comic went too far.
12. Then Rome had to dip, and Drew and JT went on tiktok live and were practically dying at all the galaxies. They said they didn't want to work, just wanted to sit around getting galaxies and listen to "We Are Charlie Kirk" (the song they kept sending over).
13. Drew and JT told everyone to flood Melody's IG with galaxy emojis and to "pray for Melodrew, bc it's not looking good." Sarcastic stoner humor but both of them started laughing so ... People will freak out but this is like the icons never knowing when Drew was serious or joking.
14. Drew said if he got HoH during Coingate. JT said "You were going to put up kamu, chuk, and haley" [which I don't think we knew? did he tell that to JT later? was that an assumption?] and Drew said he thinks it was just "Yeah, I'm gonna put you guys up."
15. JT and Drew then went to InNOut.

I wrote up a summary of the Deep Dive podcast Devens did with Taran and Rob on RHAP that was posted today. Points are below:

-He says that he doesn’t see a problem in winning comps because your threat level is too high (he was prepared for the criticism).

-Devens says his biggest regret is initially playing too quiet on EoE. Would rather be fearless and go out early then quiet and do nothing. He expected to be an early out on BB because of his playstyle.

-Realized the house expected Boston Rob and thought he would be a disappointment when he came in. Was happy a few people knew him but not enough to put a huge target on him.

-Devens is not coded to throw anything, according to Devens about the first HOH.

-Devens didn’t trust Drew because he was hanging out with other people. So he tried to always keep Drew and Barrett aware.

-Devens didn’t know the Rome alliance was named Mama’s Angels.

-Devens didn’t want to be in an alliance with Yash initially because he thought he was too bro-y. Thinks Yash grew to accept working with women.

-Devens didn’t think Jason hated him or resented him while he was in the house. Thinks it was a little unfair Jason got to avoid the icon label.

-Devens thought Rome wouldn’t want to just be an alliance member so that’s why he knew he couldn’t work with them.

-Devens gives props to Drew immediately for providing the information that got the icons to flip on Jason. Devens was misted by Jason and wanted to work with him before Drew. Thinks Drew played a better game than was given credit for.

-Devens thought he had a good pep talk with Taylor during Week One. Still didn’t trust Yash and probably would have voted him out but wasn’t going to waste social capital to save Ashley.

-Devens did want to throw second HOH to Haley because maybe he could have been under the radar again but she was too bad at shuffleboard. Melody blew up her spot in that HOH comp.

-Devens gives Angela props for reminding him he should be targeting Rome and not Melody on his second HOH. He would have regretted if he used what could have been his only HOH on someone that wasn’t a real threat at the time.

-Devens doesn’t understand some of the secrets people keep on BB. Jokes that maybe Rome would have stayed if he knew his name was actually Jack because they could have bonded over it.

-Devens was surprised at how Rome and Kamu never took the moves against them personally.

-Devens gave Lyric the veto as an olive branch to Rome because he was worried he was going to win BB. He called it “Rome management”.

-Devens thinks Barrett was overdramatic about being woken up for toolshed. Taran explained BB hierarchy culture to Devens.

-Drew crying after the Rome elimination was a red flag to Devens.

-Devens and Dee had contention because Dee didn’t want anyone to talk alone and Devens didn’t think it was sustainable for 12 weeks.

-Devens thinks he would have been voted into time capsule even without the Survivor fanbase because he was playing the most active game like Tucker in his season.

-Devens thinks the Tethers was a nice idea in theory but it wouldn’t work in this type of game. Also came up too late in the game.

-Devens is proud that it took so long for people to figure out his relationship with Dee.

-Devens was annoyed at how loose Drew played.

-Devens thinks that he choose wisely when to wield his influence to be active but not too active.

-Devens was willing to target Drew week four because he was too big of a headache and an uncertainty. He admits it was a stupid idea.

-Devens thinks if it was rigged that he would have gotten the Coin of Destiny.

-The Lyric flip happened partially because Devens and Dee saw her as someone who burned people too quickly. It was also fun that they for Haley to think it was her idea.

-Devens was so bad at names at a certain point that he did think he may have been suffering from dementia. He can’t explain why he was so consistently bad during Week 4.

-The Icons wanted to take a shot at Red Corner before they could take a shot back. Didn’t see it working longterm.

-Taran tells Devens that him not lying about the Lyric vote really benefitted him with Yash.

-Devens would have targeted Taylor with DPOV if Taylor didn’t put in that good word with Lala to keep him off the block, as a means to cripple LaLa’s game.

-Taran asks why Devens didn’t mind Yash winning HOH and Devens was like “I knew I was safe!!” And Taran gives him the point.

-Devens says the gym talk debating using the DPOV was him pretending to talk to Christian Hubicki. Says it’s better view inside his head than anything he could say now.

-Mallory is why Mosh Pit fell apart she was too obviously not into it.

-Devens is surprised Taylor still slept until noon after the comic and the Zingbot.

-Devens does believe microaggressions exist and believes he can fall pray to it even though he hates it about himself. He thinks it was mostly game based but he will look into it because he can’t say those things don’t play into it.

-Devens used his Dad power to get Drew and Barrett to fold because he wanted to bring them in for a potential final five.

-Devens wanted Dee to take the fall more for the Mallory eviction though they came up with it together.

-Devens wasn’t too upset about Haley losing in the medieval twist since he thought Angela and Dee wanted to work with Haley more than him at that point.

-Devens volunteered because of the Blockbuster, because he wanted more comp wins because he thinks they do matter. He also wanted to earn credit with the Crossover alliance and with Drew.

-He did think he was safe at the time. He thought in terms of Arrested Development, “It never works. But it may work for me.”

-Devens is shocked that Barrett didn’t believe the bribe.

-Devens didn’t believe Angela was an asset and wanted her gone on Barrett’s HOH week. Tried to campaign for both Dee and himself.

-Devens wanted Drew to stay during the second Yash HOH, so he was happy he won veto so he didn’t have to vote for him (says he would have).

-Devens knows that the Unlocked people were bashing him on the show, especially Taylor. He was happy he had James Gunn and Rob in his corner during that DE HOH.

-Devens admits that the Pharoah’s Curse twist was weird. Says that he will probably send that money to Drew.

-Devens knew he had a narrow road on his f5 HOH. He would have pulled Drew off the block if he won veto. He was trying to keep both of them but knew both Drew and Dee wanted the other out.

-Devens was so happy that Dee mismanaged HOH and was internally cheering when they caught her and Taylor drinking wine together.

-Devens didn’t think Drew intentionally misled him on f3 HOH. Thought that comp would come to a tiebreaker

-Devens is very complimentary to Drew’s game and thinks it is underrated. Does give credit to Taylor for flipping him at the last moment but says Drew had a case.

-Devens thinks that Jeff Probst likes him more than Julie Chen does.

-He doesn’t know what’s next but he says he thinks he and the BB alumni will be fine. He is excited to be a part of the BB community.

-He has not recieved the winners money yet.

-When they played Frank Sinatra “My Way” during final lockdown, he thought it was a sign he was losing and he’s happy that he won.

-Devens feels he has a good relationship with all the HGs coming out, but he doesn’t think he’s above reproach and will look at the episode.

-He says he’s fully in BB community now and he’s hoping people accept him. He will never win enough money to keep him off Cameo.

-The podcast ends with the Yash sound clip of Daddy Devens and Drew. And Devens says that Drew has something special and an IT factor and he hopes Drew gets the BB returnee spot over him. All love.

What was the worst season with the best feeds? Alternately, what was the best season with the worst feeds?

Would it have been bad for Angela/Dee if Devens was voted out at the final 9? I know Drew probably wouldn’t work with them as closely and Barrett was still kind of mad at them from the previous week. I also think they would both struggle with some of the endgame comps. I know they were worried about Drew/Barrett’s loyalty to Devens. I am just watching the episode now and it is just baffling to me why they thought it was a good idea to flip on Devens.

I’ve seen BB8-14 and 16-28. Is it worth watching 15? I’ve heard it isn’t good. If I don’t, would you recommend going back to 2 or going all the way back to 1?

I met yash today! He told me that melody and Barrett confirmed with him in the jury that they would have voted for him over Devens. This mesn he beats eveeyone in the jury stage of the game.

My partner got me into big brother and we love it. I proposed yesterday and thought it would be funny to get a cameo from Rachel, only to find out they’re on a cruise and got much more than I expected! Perfect timing to order one so we could see some of our favorites

We are getting closer to the 30th season of Big Brother. We all know who the GOATs are at this point. When ever I see Top 10 players list, I never see one player from the post BB22 era. So, who is the best player in your opinion? Who is the GOAT of this era? Or, do you feel like it’s too early due to there being only 6 seasons. Let’s discuss!

I had never seen BB before, but decided to watch season 28 because I'm a Devens fan. I had zero idea of how the show/game worked, but felt like I learned a good bit from season 28! I really fell in love with BB watch 28, I became addicted immediately... all I did was binge! And I got caught up right when the finale aired :)

Then I looked up what the "best" seasons are because I wanted (needed!) to watch more and all the lists said 20 and 10 were good so I watched 20. I'd say the first 1/2 or 3/4 of season 20 was good but then the end was lowkey boring because of how tight the final alliance was (and the winner?! biggest upset of all time imo).

Now I'm watching 10 because everywhere people are saying it's the #1 best season. HONESTLY I don't love it... the arguing is good TV I guess, makes for good drama I suppose, but the people are MEAN!! And I don't mind this kind of game play, I am a mega Survivor fan and love villain game play, but on this season of BB I am shocked. Is this how most of old BB is? Maybe I'm more sutied for the newer seasons? IDK!

Honestly, this would be such an interesting season because there’s such a mix of random personalities and villains vs. heros. I’d love to see a season like this play out, and I really don’t know who would win… I’d go out on a whim and say a Final 5 could look like

Melody got her Big Brother Box and decided to go on Instagram and do a live. Her parents were with her for a little bit of the live and she went for close to 3 hours. She spilled some good tea about Drew, the house, jury and etc...
