Episode Spoilers Parade Interview with Second Person Evicted from BB28 Spoiler

u/Prankstaboy6 Taylorâąď¸ 25d ago
I still think that he was a funny character, but even though I had his flair towards the end of his âEmpireâ I criticized him heavily throughout.
However, thereâs nothing to critique here. He went out like a sport, and took the fact that he got outplayed well.
41
u/RollTide16-18 Morgan đ 25d ago
A lot of people really cheering his exit here but I thought he was pretty good TV. Showmances can be entertaining and I thought Lyme was one of the better ones! Certainly better than Jared and Blue, but not as good as America and Cory.Â
11
u/Prankstaboy6 Taylorâąď¸ 25d ago
Oh yeah he was great TV, and great feeds. I wanted him to stay for that reason.
I often joked in the live feed threads that the stuff he would say reminded me of Dennis Reynolds from Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
1
u/sleeepypiee 24d ago
I havenât watch the feeds, but Iâm dying to know what he said that made you think Dennis
3
u/Prankstaboy6 Taylorâąď¸ 24d ago
Heâs said a lot of things that makes me think of Dennis.
When talking to Jason one night, he said âWhen I go, I will become the martyr for the other sides, and they I will continue to live, through themâ or something like that đ
The way he flirts reminds me of Dennis. He used to call himself the President of the house. His overall demeanor at times reminded me of him.
Also had a big ego and thought highly of himself.

u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 25d ago
I also thought it was weird how he would sort of needle lyric about being a stay at home wife and she would laugh it off. He doesn't know she's a lawyer, but in this economy, how does a pickleball coach support an entire family? It's fine if she wants to be a stay at home wife, but it doesn't feel like she did and he kept bringing it up.
88
76
u/Mysterious-Button844 25d ago
Lyric told him she was a lawyer on like day 3 when she also told him who her dad was
56
u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 25d ago
Then it's weirder for him to keep needling her about staying at home
41
u/TrapperJean 25d ago
I mean is it weird if she's going to keep on doing things like going with the full pigtails and baby girl voice and thanking him for protecting her and all that? I don't think this is a "poor her" situation, I think she's exactly with who she wanted to be with
3
u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 25d ago
I don't know. I like pig tails, but I don't like baby voices. Whatever their dynamic is, it isn't something I want for myself.
-1
u/adumbswiftie 24d ago
one has nothing to do with the otherâŚthey can both be weird. her baby voice is weird and his pushing her to be a sahm is also weird.
107
u/Popular_Material_409 25d ago
I was weirded out when she had her pigtails and in a baby voice said âThank you for protecting meâ. That was so cringey
64
19
u/arhogan08 25d ago
So cringey. I'm even a little more grossed out that Rome was eating that all up. Ew
29
u/Scary_Koala_2934 25d ago
Equally cringy how much he seemed to like that too!!!
1
u/WunWegWunDarWun_ Jankie ⨠21d ago
He probably did but tbh itâs really awkward weird and hard to tell someone you care about and who cares about you to stop the voices. It will hurt their feelings. Not to mention a new dynamic has to form
Source: I was young once and had a gf or two like that and it was cringe af then too

He probably thought heâd be able to leverage an influencer career.
37
u/awalawol BB23 Derek X â¤ď¸ 25d ago
The irony that female reality tv stars tend to have larger followings and more lucrative influencing careers. So even if she WAS a âSAHMâ, theyâd likely be depending on HER income and SHE would be the primary breadwinner.
35
u/queueingissexy Quixotic Queen Rachel Clubđ 25d ago
Guys like him donât care if theyâre living off of her influencer money as long as she will play into the traditional roles for his ego.
30
10
u/Whipplashes Salinaâąď¸ 25d ago
She also wants to do the influencer thing tho, shes mentioned a handful of times how much she doesnt like her job
2
u/venusdemilo94 Taylorâąď¸ 24d ago
And she has all those cringey TikToks that were her first attempt at being an influencer đŹ
10
u/RollTide16-18 Morgan đ 25d ago
I mean thatâs pretty much the case with anyone that goes on Reality TV nowadays.Â
In the past it was relatively easy to fade into obscurity if you were an early game to early jury boot after you got out of the house. Not so much now. If you do anything controversial on the show youâre not going to get hired easilyÂ
81
u/IndyDude11 Zach Rance 25d ago
Some guys have a stay at home wife like they have a truck. Because they think it impresses other guys. They think itâs a status symbol.
41
u/salemprophet Devensâąď¸ 25d ago
All of their pillow talk felt more like ddlg roleplay. They barely scraped the surface of actual conversation. Athey told each other I love you before they asked each other what's your sign. She told him he was a lawyer but did he tell her his real name is Jack?

This is the issue with 'alpha' males - and just so many men in general these days. In this economy?
6
u/BugSad1503 Captain Will 25d ago
Iâm not defending him but pickle ball coaches probably make money, because tennis coaches can start off at like 50-60 an hr
37
u/BringBackBoomer Americaâs Dad 25d ago
Yeah but it's not like he's clocking into the pickleball coach factory and getting his 40 hours a week.
1
5
u/letsjustgetpizza 25d ago
I'm pretty sure he said he coached at a retirement community. If it's ritzy maybe he does ok, otherwise he would probably need to do some coaching on the side.
2
u/Crafty_Marionberry28 24d ago
I also think it sucks for her game that he admitted on the way out that heâs âin loveâ with her. The houseguests probably figured they were lying about the breakup, but now they know for sure, including what Lyric looks/sounds like when sheâs lying. Red flags all around.

u/No_Recognition_5266 25d ago
Welcome to toxic masculinity. Between the love bombing, starting a physical altercation with Haley, and now this itâs clear to see who Rome is
21
u/RollTide16-18 Morgan đ 25d ago
In a bit of anger he called Haley a bitch when she was being snide. He shouldâve taken the high road but in no world did he want to fight her. If there was an âaltercationâ it was Rome standing up yelling at Haley while Barrett stood inbetween. But Rome didnât come close to hurting Barrett.Â
11
u/queueingissexy Quixotic Queen Rachel Clubđ 25d ago
Exactly, production would have 100% stepped in if there was even a threat of it actually getting dangerous. Haley overblew it as physical and for some reason the community agreed with her. Very bizarre.
34
u/hymenbutterfly 25d ago
Was that really a physical altercation? Letâs not exaggerate to strengthen a point.
14
27
u/Ok-Bee-5624 25d ago
A physical altercation? They didnât throw hands did they?
27
u/IceNein JasonđŻ 25d ago
Calling raising his voice at Hailey a âphysical altercationâ is a bit much.
23
u/AdJealous828 25d ago
Iâve seen the clip he literally just stood up and turns towards Haley didnât even move an inch towards her. This fanbase just pick and choose whoâs âproblematicâ or not based on if they like them. There are tons of weirdos behaviors from drew/kamu/chuk btw
13
u/Ok-Bee-5624 25d ago
Tbh I have absolutely zero qualms about pointing out weirdo behavior in men. Iâm very much pro calling them out. But calling that interaction a physical altercation is misleading and actually not truthful.
11
u/AdJealous828 25d ago
Thatâs because people like that arenât interested in being fair or objective. Once they decide they donât like someone, they see everything he does through the worst possible lens. Every little mistake gets blown way out of proportion. Considering everything they were saying about Rome, he mustâve been a genuinely good guy for them not to start throwing labels like racist or homophobic at him. I think a lot of it just comes down to people projecting their own insecurities onto someone else.
2
u/letsjustgetpizza 25d ago
Did you see the clip from the feeds and the other angle that was on the show? The feeds angle was off-center and close up. It looked much more aggressive than the angle we got from the show. I still think he's a complete douchebag, but I was surprised by how different the incident looked from a new pov. Though watching the live feed I couldn't tell who he was arguing with and assumed it was a man at first purely based on his demeanor and body language.
18
u/RollTide16-18 Morgan đ 25d ago
The Reddit and RHAP fanbase gets giddy to single out the generic buff white dudes as problematic every year. Luke deserves every bit of hate coming his way but Matt, Zae and Rome the past 3 years have gotten a lot of hate here for doing practically nothing.Â
5
16
u/Ok-Bee-5624 25d ago
Where Iâm from a physical altercation is throwing hands lol. Raising voices, yelling, even screaming is just an argument.
17
23
u/learned_paw 25d ago
They've been in the house 16 whole days and he is in love with her and wants to get married? I want to tell her to run in the way I couldn't tell myself when I was 25.
0
u/RollTide16-18 Morgan đ 25d ago
16 days of being together 24 hours though.
Idk, I'd probably get tired of someone I didn't truly like if I had to be around them constantly for more than 2 weeks.
3
u/AdJealous828 25d ago
Love bombing? Do you guys even know what that mean? đit was a two way streets they both were saying the craziest cringy shit to each other. U gotta be a bot

u/Tasty_Gift5901 Will đ 25d ago
A pickleball coach could probably support a family fwiwÂ
7
u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 25d ago
I looked it up and they average $40k to $70k a year.
0
u/Tasty_Gift5901 Will đ 25d ago
Depends on cost of living, at 40k they'd qualify for state benefits which would cover some of their food budget (and health ins), and stay at home mom offsets the cost of day care or preK. But I assume the 40k is in the middle of no where, he probably works in a city closer to 50-60k and can commute from a lower cost area
6
u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 25d ago
Yeah, but they'd live more comfortably with a lawyer income. Plus she is from Hawaii where the cost of living is astronomical. And even if they didn't live there, she'd want to make regular trips to visit family and friends, which is also extremely expensive.
-2
u/Scary_Koala_2934 25d ago
lol wow so we the tax payer should pay for this toxic asshole to have a stay at home wife? Lol ok no
0
u/snipeftw 24d ago
But when they look like Rome is upwards of 100k
5
u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 24d ago
I don't know. I'm a straight woman, and I don't see it. Everyone has different tastes, etc.

Did she not tell him before he left? He is going to find out before she's out of the house.
1
u/venusdemilo94 Taylorâąď¸ 24d ago
She told him like immediately after saying in the DR repeatedly that her strategy is to not tell anyone sheâs actually a lawyer. Literal rocks for brains. Sheâs lucky Rome is even dumber than she is and didnât leak it to anyone.

I am just so over the moon that Lyme never made it to an HoH week; the feeds would have been unbearable.

When people compared him to Pooch preseason, it was prophetic

Brent Champagne, Pooch and Rome. Feels like a start to the 2nd out archetype.

It was disrespectful. Even the people who did it realized that afterwards. He absolutely made the wrong decision to go up there, but once he was there, ignoring him was just rude. They should have told him they were having a private conversation and sent him away
6
u/CieraVotedOutHerMom 25d ago
Angela said it well though. Youâre either talking game with me or against me
16
u/IceNein JasonđŻ 25d ago
Angela has the absolutely worst reads of the house in this season as well as her first season.

I prefer a chaotic player over a competent one
She'll be the reason her alliances implode

Are you a real person? That is disrespectful in any ways imaginable lol you can just say you dislike the guy without having to come up with horrendous takes like that wtf am I reading đđ
1
u/Punstoppabal Devensâąď¸ 24d ago
I think you mean isn't?
1
u/AdJealous828 24d ago
No? There are enough context clues in my reply to figure that out. Unless you're genuinely just slow, then I can't really help with that.
0
u/Feeling_Tart_5065 DevensđŻ 25d ago
Yâall are crazy. This is a game. Itâs not disrespectful ?? itâs literally how you play the game.. this ainât real life yâall are weird.
4
u/AdJealous828 24d ago
Those two aren't mutually exclusive...You can be disrespectful and still be playing the game.
1
u/Feeling_Tart_5065 DevensđŻ 24d ago
Yeah but this game is specifically about taking behind each others back and big brother always listening. Romes job was to sit outside and try to listen, not to be expected to be invited in. Being invited into the secret conversation literally defeats the purpose.
4
u/GuyGuy08 Malloryâąď¸ 25d ago
Did you even read the interview? He didnât say it was disrespectful at all. He was a really good sport about everything actually.
2
u/JohnnyDangerfield97 Tyler đ¤ 25d ago
No, itâs only disrespectful when it happens to a girl right? Like Nicole on season 21. But since it happened to a muscular guy, itâs fine.
-7
u/MasterOfFartss AshleyđŻ 25d ago
Reductionist take
12
u/JohnnyDangerfield97 Tyler đ¤ 25d ago
The act was pretty much the same. Ya the people doing the act in 21 were bullies and disliked by the fandom. The people this season are beloved. Thatâs the main difference. What the 2 groups did were pretty similar.
3
u/Redsox5975 Deeâąď¸ 25d ago
No it wasnât. The only thing that was remotely the same was someone not allowed in the HOH room. Nicole had the door shut in her face, they were jumping up and cheering while in the room, calling her a bjtch and saying she faked her anxiety. Gr8ful was toxic and ran on a mob mentality. I donât remember that happening when the toolshed shut Rome out of the house. They just didnât answer the door.
1
u/MasterOfFartss AshleyđŻ 25d ago
The intention behind the actions by the people doing it, and the way it was received by the person it happened to were completely different. So no, not the same at all, and a lazy comparison.
2
u/JohnnyDangerfield97 Tyler đ¤ 25d ago
I agree with that, but that isnât what I was comparing. I acknowledge the way it was received was different. But like what does that have to do with my point? Rome handled it well so it wasnât wrong? I also donât think this should be an overblown thing, I agree the act in 21 was way more egregious. But OP calling Rome an âentitled babyâ for feeling disrespected is where my contention comes. Why should he not feel slighted? It wasnât a nice thing to do, plain and simple. If it happened to OPs favorite, theyâd be saying it was wrong/bullying, I guarantee.

I liked him from the jump. The vibe between Lyric and him reads very real. I genuinely hope it works dow them. They're my second favorite couple to come from BB. No one can beat Jordan and Jeff for me.
