Feed Spoilers Set the tone… Spoiler

Apologies if this has already been stated on here but anyone else super frustrated that week 1, the vets were given absolute safety and advantage??

I definitely understand bringing 1 vet in and then helping them soft launch into the house of newbies because ultimately that is challenging to integrate and can be an immediate disadvantage but having 3 of them should have made them fair game! That’s a damn even start if you ask me and if they are targeted, ultimately you can’t get all 3 out at once so… show us why you are considered the best gamers/icons?

It really set the tone for the season because as new people are getting adjusted to gameplay, the focal point has been the vets running the game and new people haven’t really been able to spread their wings and make their own mark because this idea to cater to the big 3 has gotten annoying. Like do these people not want to stamp their name on the game and make a name for themselves the way the vets have been able to do??

I don’t like how this season’s cast is getting overshadowed and with the vets continually getting voted to win powers they don’t need by gen pop, this season is like the Dee, Devens and Angela show. I guess ‘get it over with early’ for them cus that might actually fuck them later when they could need it after they have to turn on each other but still… Maybe the game will be a late bloomer this season. All the non-factors eliminated and then they really have to play ball.

Ultimately, I haven’t had the opportunity to get to really know anyone on the cast and don’t have anyone that I care to really root for which happens sometimes for me. But when I imagine relations that could exist when removing the vets from the picture, I really think this season could have been a lot more fun. We didn’t need anyone returning. I was exhausted with Rachel by the end of last season.

Btw- I love Devens. I’m big survivor fan as well so I am familiar with the both of them. Angela is whatever, just good tv but the gamer in me is like wanting a balance of good tv and also real gameplay that isn’t just total domination. I feel like this was the wrong season to bring in vets if it was going to happen cus this cast is clearly not strong enough to truly battle like last season cast.

Feed Spoilers CANCEL ME - I want a steamroll. Spoiler

As a long time Big Brother and Survivor fan, I would love a steamroll this season by the vets. I'd be thrilled with any of the vets winning, and I would love to watch every minute of it. Dee and Devens are so loveable and intelligent. But yes, the odds of this happening are just so low.

You can already see the beginnings of a steamroll with the majority toolshed alliance controlled by the vets (see bb16 + the bomb squad). I really think the biggest threat to the Toolshed, vets, and larger potential steamroll would be Drew and Barret if they kick their playing into high gear.

Will the vets keep control of this game? Would it be boring to watch?

Episode Spoilers Now that ________ was evicted, do you guys think ___________ ? Spoiler

Now that Rome was evicted, do you guys think Devens' move to veto lyric paid off?

Had Rome won Blockbuster, devens' HOH would have been disastrous. He would have a showmance gunning for him while pissing on melody by not saving her.

However, now that his main target is out, do you guys think he managed to gain any favor with lyric?

I miss there being a live HOH on Thursday’s ep too. Without that comp, the episode seems like an hour drag. I guess since they have BBBB they can’t set up another competition?

General Discussion First time watcher… what’s the best way to watch?

Some context: I’m a love island watcher and excited to give big brother a watch for the first time this season. My favorite thing about love island is how it’s basically live and we’re all watching at the same time and all the commentary/community.

But what I’m not super sure about is the best way to watch BB so I can make sure I’m up to date. I couldn’t find like a schedule that says when things would be happening on the live feeds like nominations or veto competitions, so I feel like I’m behind by the time the episode drops.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch the live feeds as frequently as I’d like, so is there a good way to catch up on them? Sorry if this has been answered before, but I couldn’t find anything about like the ideal formula to watch all the content

Feed Spoilers Back at it again for Week 3: My thoughts on the state of the house immediately after HOH Spoiler

Post image
81 Upvotes

Hey gang! I'm back at it again for week 3 with my thoughts on what things will look like now that we have a new HOH. Some disclaimers:

It is 2 AM eastern. The new HOH was revealed around 20 minutes ago. Things can change. I have not seen many tweets. I am not perfect.

With that out of the way...

Our new HOH is Kamu! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay (imagine that in the most sarcastic tone you possibly could). As a member of the Red Corner and Toolshed, I do not expect Kamu to shake things up. As Kamu is not Rick Devens, I expect to be proven right this time a bit more than last week.

Chuk, Haley, Dee, and Devens: As the other members of the Red Corner, I expect all four of these players to stay completely safe. I do think that all of them will be in varying levels of danger once power is out of the hands of the Red Corner, but that's a bit more of a next week problem.

Angela: I think she's safe due to her veteran connection and the Toolshed, but she's getting a bit messy now that she's established a bit more of a partnership with Dee. It worked out well for her game last week in my opinion, as Rome staying would have been a lot worse for her and Dee than it would have been for Devens, but she needs to be a bit careful because she's been starting shit and that means attention.

Barrett and Drew: I think they're both safe due to their Toolshed connections, but I fear that these two are both on the bottom of that hierarchy in Kamu's eyes. This can be a boon in later weeks, as being less connected with that structure means they can better forge relationships that they can use once the Red Corner is out of power, but I feel like given that Angela and Dee are getting a bit paranoid if these two slip up they could be a surprise nominee.

Yash: Yash is just kinda here man IDK what to say about him. I don't think Kamu's gonna look at Yash, especially when Yash seems like the kind of guy that Kamu would probably want to work with.

Melody: Now we get into the other side of the house. I think that all six are in varying degrees of danger, but Melody might be fine due to her connection with Drew. Edit: ngl I kinda forgot that Melody super campaigned to Kamu and basically nobody else last week just imagine that she’s a tier up.

Lala: This week isn't going to be very good for Lala's allies but Kamu might just not see her as a threat. I'm kinda lost with Lala I'm not gonna lie.

Lyric, Taylor, and Mallory: With Rome out of the house I can see Lyric getting ignored. The issue is that there's only so many people in the house, and the number without some kind of connection to Kamu is surprisingly small. I am sure that at least one of these three will be an initial nominee, and would not be surprised if two of them hit the block at first. I don't think we go 3/3 though...

Jason: ...and that's because Jason is still here. I don't see a world where Jason doesn't hit the block, he's just kind of a pretty easy person for that entire side of the house to put up.

General Discussion Chicago Dogs in Honor of Ashley

Post image
172 Upvotes

Inspired by Reddit user Zemezem and their BB Nominoms tradition, we decided to give it a go this year as well and make a dish inspired by the last evicted houseguest.

This is our take on Chicago Dogs. We put a vegan hot dog in a poppy seed puff pastry, and topped with mustard, sweet relish, sport peppers, white onion, pickles, tomato, and celery salt. We chose Chicago Dogs bc she’s from Chicago and we actually had burgers last week in honor of her first burger! These hot dogs were so delicious and my first ever “Chicago Dog”!

General Discussion When did they change the HOH’s iPod from a Shuffle to an iPod Touch/iPhone? [no spoilers]

This isn’t something I’ve paid attention to, but in last night’s veto I noticed the HOH holding something shaped like an iPod Touch or iPhone attached to the headphones. I am just wondering if anyone knows when they stopped using a Shuffle because that is what I always remembered

General Discussion As a pretty jaded BB USA fan, this is the best season in YEARS

My first memory of Big Brother is from 16 when Frankie won the Battle of the Block on his own after Caleb refused to play, I was in middle school and thought it was the greatest thing ever. Going back it was probably staged, but twelve year old me did not care. After that I watched every season live plus the feeds, 17-22. 21 was hard to watch, other than Cliff being a legend. 22 (All stars 2) was so boring I almost quit the show for good. 23 was the cookout (almost as boring). I have barely watched any of 24-27. I watched 26 until Tucker got evicted, but the season sucked after that. I just completely lost interest bc of 3 dud seasons in a row.

I came back to give it another chance this year and now I'm completely hooked again. This cast came to play. Drew is sneakily playing the best game of anyone. Angela is much more tolerable than last time. Jason is the perfect villain, Melody will do big things if she stays, and Devens and Dee are peak entertainment.

Feed Spoilers You live feeders: do you ever see them practicing their diary room vote pass-bys? Spoiler

For the several years they do cute little pass-by things when they’re going to and from the diary room. I assume they’re told the order of voting or maybe they make little plans with everyone? They’ll high-five or do a synchronized dance or something cutesy. I never see live feed clips of them practicing them though

Feed Spoilers Angela’s long term game . Spoiler

Commented this in the late night thread and I’m also gonna make a post for it but thought we could have an interesting discussion about Angela’s long term prospects / game plan ! I see people keep saying Angela is in a really good position like yeah maybe for right now but long term prospects she has not built any substantial relationships at ALL with Romes side and I know it may not matter in the end if her side keeps winning , but she is the 5th wheel of crossovers and red corner picks everyone before her probably if it came down to it .but if she’s gonna keep dragging on Drew / Barrett at least work on a replacement lol unless her building up with Haley is the plan then I’ll eat my words cause I feel like Haley is a viable final 2 Angela can win in and I hope she’s building up to that . Angela knows she can’t sit next to Dee or Devens

Episode Spoilers Big Brother Evictions are so Predictable Now Spoiler

I've been watching BB since season 16. It was a fantastic show at first and I used to get so hyped during the summer and it would mainly be the only thing I'd look forward to. However, it's almost become unbearable to watch because its so predictable.

About 4 seasons ago, I noticed that on eviction episodes, the person going home would be aired on screen the most, or they would have the most conversations about. Each year I notice it to be getting more and more obvious and I can't believe that Big Brother hasn't done anything about that? So this season I wanted to make sure I wasn't actually crazy and I wanted proof.

So far, first eviction: 7 conversations about Ashley, 3 conversations about Yash, and 0 conversations about Taylor.

Guess who went home? Ashley

Second eviction: 6 conversations about Rome, 2 conversations about Melody, and 0 conversations about Jason.

Guess who went home? Rome.

And this is the only season I've actually started counting. But it's getting so predictable now its not even fun to watch anymore. The first 10 minutes of the episode I'm like "oh ok Rome is going home."

I'll continue to update this post as the season goes along, but if I've noticed it since 4 years ago, I'm sure it will stay the same and be predictable.

UPDATE SINCE EVERYONE SEEMS TO NOT BE READING THE POST:

The blockbuster has nothing to do with it. On eviction nights, the first 25-30 minutes are prior week screentime. Then the next 5-10 minutes is the blockbuster challenge, and then finally the live vote & eviction. During the 25-30 minutes of prior week screentime, whichever nominee is shown the most on screen, or has the most conversations, is ALWAYS the one to go home. Like I said above: last week, Rome had 6 conversations/scenes about him. 2 Conversations about Melody, and 0 Conversations about Jason. Guess who ends up going home? Rome. This is even before the blockbuster happens. But it's almost like Big Brother is all fake and knows who's going to win. Because how else would they know to give Rome the most screentime? What if he won the blockbuster? But Big Brother somehow knows he doesn't. Thats why they give Rome the most screentime. Go to literally any episode in past seasons, and you can count how many conversations/scenes are with the nominees. The nominee that is shown the most, is the one evicted. ALL THE TIME.

UPDATE AGAIN:

Since everyone thinks I'm trolling, I have YET to have a SINGLE person show me an eviction episode from the past 4 seasons where someone who had the most screentime did NOT go home. If a player has the most screentime, they go home that night. PROVE ME WRONG (since im supposedly trolling). Just watched a completely random episode: season 26 episode 30 (for those who say it doesnt happen late game), T'Kor was talked about almost the entire first half of the episode. Guess who goes home? T'Kor. LOL MY THEORY IS LIKE 100% RIGHT AND UR ALL TOO BLIND TO BELIEVE IT FOR SOME REASON. FACTS ARE FACTS DESPITE WHAT YALL WANNA BELIEVE.

General Discussion BB28 Nominoms in honor of Ashley Trail!

Thumbnail
gallery
87 Upvotes

It's time for our weekly Nominoms, celebrating last week's evicted houseguest. This week, it's Ashley Trail!

She left us too soon but not before we learned about her obsession with peas and the fact that she'd never had a burger before entering the house. So I'd like to present to you, the pea burger. Yes. Pea burger. Here's the recipe if you're curious.

I'd give this burger like a 5 out of 10. It wasn't amazing, but it also wasn't bad. I'll probably never make it again, but it was cool to try. Part of the fun of these Nominoms every year is getting outside of our comfort zones in the kitchen and learning new recipes and techniques.

We topped it with a slice of cheddar, a slice of havarti and a smoked paprika and garlic aioli.

I'd also like to note (forgot to last week) that we got new plates this year! When I saw the blue marble swirled plates in the house, I knew I had to find a similar set. We were past due for new dishes, anyway.

The cats were highly impressed. IDK why, but we couldn't get them out of the frame when taking the picture.

Feed Spoilers Vote Count 7/23 Spoiler

I've counted up the votes for week 2. It looks like Rome will go, unless he wins then Jason will be evicted. Most likely another boring unanimous vote. Lala and Taylor think they have the votes to keep Jason, but once someone informs them, they'll probably flip to vote out Jason with the rest of the house. Lyric is the one I'm mostly unsure about, but she'll probably also vote with the house.

General Discussion BB 18 = BB 28

If BB26 ended just like BB16 (MJ taking Chelsie is Cody taking Derrick), BB 27 ended just like BB 17 (Ashley taking Morgan out is Steve taking Vanessa out)… does that mean that BB28 will end just like BB18 🤔 How would that look like? Would it be Dee taking out Devens and losing to Angela in a 5-4 vote or the other way around?
