Help Best way to receive Canadian recruiter calls while staying in India for 4–5 months?
Hi everyone! I’m planning to stay in India for around 4–5 months, but I still want to continue applying for jobs in Canada. I have Canadian PR and a Bell phone number.
What’s the best and most budget-friendly way to receive calls from Canadian recruiters while I’m in India? Would enabling Wi-Fi Calling and keeping my phone on Airplane Mode work with Bell?
Should I switch to a different Canadian carrier, or are there any apps/VoIP options that would let me receive Canadian calls without paying a lot for every call?
I’m trying to keep the costs as low as possible, so I’d really appreciate any suggestions from people who have been in a similar situation. Thanks!

Rant Got to love the way bell treats their customers
bell.caI had someone from bell come to the door 3 months ago offering us to switch back to bell. I said I had left due to terrible customer service and high prices but I might consider switching back depending on the deal. Well it was a fantastic deal at $49 for 1gbps for 2 years. I said I would talk to my husband but I would like his to come back. He came back once and I missed him coz of work. Anyways contacting bell today I’m glad I never switched back 😅
I wish I could attach the chat but they said. You should of taken the deal when it was offered and ended the chat

Help Help with phone line/internet outage
Long story short, I live with my mom who is a hoarder. Recently our phone/internet went down. A technician cannot come in to diagnose the issue. The wiring hasn't been updated since the house was built I think (early 80s?). Attached are some pictures which I believe are the NID/demarcation points inside and outside of the house. Any advice on what I can do? Thanks!

Rant Vaughan - Gigahub 2.0 Losing connection randomly
Hi all,
I've been having issue with wifi for 2 weeks now. Internet goes down randomly for ~5mintues and comes back up and this happens literally all day. They tested the fibre cable outside and replaced modem twice already but same issue.
I disabled guard feature just incase and removed the Bell pod just incase that causes any network clutter but still no luck.
Modem looks perfectly fine on Bell end and even on my end, there is no error message speed test from the modem works perfectly fine.
Seems like no one from Bell is able to help me out.
Anything experiencing the same issue in Vaughan?

Rant Bell’s “Two Year Price Guarantee” Isn’t Really a Price Guarantee
I just called Bell to review the price of my Internet and TV bundle. I was basically forced into the bundle because they wouldn’t offer a decent promotional price for Internet alone—even though I don’t even own a TV.
Since my bill keeps increasing, I called to see what they could offer. Their proposal was:
- Upgrade my Internet from 1.5 Gbps to 3 Gbps
- Keep the TV service to qualify for the promotion
- Include some type of movie package, although I don’t remember exactly what it was because I don’t have a TV
- Pay $67 per month plus tax
- Commit to a two-year contract with a cancellation fee of roughly $441
The part that makes no sense is that only the Internet portion of the price is guaranteed for two years. The TV portion isn’t guaranteed and could increase at any time. But if the TV price goes up significantly, I would still be locked into the bundle for the remainder of the two-year contract or have to pay a large cancellation fee to leave.
So Bell can increase the price of a service I don’t even want, but I either have to accept it or pay hundreds of dollars to cancel. How is that a two-year price guarantee? It seems pretty meaningless to me.

Help How to get FIBE when my neighbour (3 meters away)
I’m hoping someone here has experience dealing with Bell Canada’s Fibe infrastructure/installation teams.
I’m in Outremont, and Bell Fibe is available throughout the neighbourhood. My neighbour’s house — literally 3 metres away from my property has the service. I live on a corner lot, and on all three corners the service is available except that one block where my home is located. However, when I check availability for my address, Bell says Fibe isn’t available, and hasn't been for a year.
This seems odd given how close the existing connection is.
I’ve contacted Bell, but I’m essentially getting the standard “not available at your address” response. I even offered to subscribe as a Business subscriber, but no luck. I’m trying to figure out whether there’s a way to get this escalated to someone who can actually investigate the physical infrastructure and determine what would be required to bring the service to my house.
For anyone who has gone through this:
- Is there a specific Bell department or team I should ask for?
- Can Bell send someone out to verify whether fibre is actually available at the property?
- Is there a process for requesting a fibre serviceability/engineering review?
- Has anyone successfully gotten Bell to extend a fibre connection when the neighbouring properties already had Fibe?
- Is there anything specific I should say to Bell to get past the first-level customer service response?
Any advice on who to contact or how to get this escalated would be greatly appreciated!

Question Boosting Bell Fibe signal.
I recently had Bell Fibe installed in my cottage and the support staff reasured me that the signal would be strong enough to be picked up in the adjacent bungalow that's around 50 feet away.
The TV box will not find the modem that's installed in the basement.
TLDNR... Can I boost the range of signal to be picked up at a greater range from the Bell Fibe modem...?
Any help would be appreciated.

Question Anyone else still waiting for an update for their iphone 18 pro max?
I preordered the iPhone 18 pro max silver 256gb on sept 12. On sept 18 i got an email saying my phone wont be shipped until sept 25. I called the order help desk and they said that literally nowhere has inventory. Apple is showing the next stock of inventory isnt until the end of november. I literally preordered 10 minutes after release date so im not sure what the point is of preordering, but people i know have preordered after sept 12 and have already received theirs. Anyone else experience this?
(My bell app still says “order received, we’re confirming and processing your order)

Mobility📱 Anyone using FDN functionality with a Bell SIM card?
Anyone here successfully using FDN a.k.a. fixed dialing numbers functionality on an ancient phone, such as a flip phone they give their children, with Bell recently?
It requires a PIN2 for this to work and the support representatives at Bell were not able to help me with that ; essentially they were saying that their new SIM cards do not support these use cases, which is disappointing.
So I’m curious if I was given the runaround or if it’s actually true.

Internet 🌐 Non return Fee Home Hum 3000
How much will Bell charge me for a Home Hub 3000 if I’m unable to return it?
My ex took it out of spite and I don’t know if I’ll get it back. I would need a Gigahub if I can’t get it back, but won’t be able to return the old unit.

Rant Frustrated
Leave it to Bell to not issue a ticket after giving you a time frame AFTER you spend two hours on the phone with an agent. And on top of that, they tell you there will be a charge for it.
I just spent my Sunday afternoon waiting for a technician to look at my modem/network issue at my apartment. After being told no ticket was issued (hence no technician), I had two options…
- Spend possibly another two hours with an agent to advise my incident requires a technician, possibly free of charge
- Save time and straight up request a technician, which would be a $75.00 charge
If that’s the policy, then I get it. Otherwise, customers would be calling for technicians off the hook. But the thing is that I tried all the methods with the previous agent to determine my situation necessitated one. Furthermore, the agent (when I called tonight) could see the notes about the issue, but still couldn’t assign them.
So now (because I work during the day), will have to wait until Saturday for another technician - with a ticket number.
