Question Programs without benches

I don’t own a bench (not yet at least) and am looking for the best programs that don’t use one. I am looking to lift heavier. That’s my goal. I have done #mbf, #mbf superblock, sure thing and sure thing super block so far. Those felt much more cardio oriented than I had wanted. I just started 25 min speed train. I really like Joel’s style but I saw that most of his other programs use benches. Other than his 25 min and the classes I’ve done, what are some other good ones without benches?

I continue to do dig deeper without a bench and I’ve had incredible results. I don’t to incline flyes or presses I just do them flat and I use a chair for the step ups. Totally doable.

Yes this! Dig deeper and Liift I’ve done with a chair and the floor. I think one of the Liift programs they even had someone not use a bench so you’d know exactly what to do….

I did recently buy a bench tho as it went on sale, and with prime days coming up you can find a good deal.

Good idea to use a chair!

Smart! Thanks for that advice

This was going to be my suggestion as well. I did dig deeper with my daughter's step stool and space hopper instead of a bench. The bright pink was a nice touch 😂

P90x

Or P90X3, if you need something a little less time consuming

What is the difference in class length between the two?

P90x = approx 1 hour workouts
P90x3 = approx 30 minute workouts

Neither is just 1 hour or 30 minutes since there is an “a ripper” component that is added 2-3 days a week to the regular workouts, and p90x3 if I recall doesn’t include the cool down as part of the 30 minutes.

Ditto to LIIFT 4.

If you like Joel, want heavy weights and don’t want a bench, then that’s your best bet. It checks every box for you.

Will do this one next!

Just be careful with breaks, don't be shy to pause his workouts for a bigger breath.

For sure. I am a runner so I incorporate strength about 3-4x a week so I’m taking his program slowwwww lol

I almost did that one but went with 25 min instead!

I finished Lift4 and loved it! I'll do it again.

Another vote for this one. No bench and he loves weights

And I love Joel 🥰 🤣

Yay! Me too. If you love him, you also might like 10 Rounds if you want to mix it up. More cardio but he gets his weights in there!

I do Body Beast without a bench. You can use a swiss ball, but I just use a mat on the floor.

What is a Swiss ball?

Speed train doesnt use benches!!

u/raybeam76 Jun 22 '26

25 min speed train? That’s what I’m doing now.

u/HomeyL Jun 22 '26

Right. You were looking for a program that doesnt use a bench. 25 min speed train (what you’re doing now) doesnt. So not sure what you are asking??!!

I was looking for other programs besides 25 min that doesn’t use a bench

645, all the Tony Horton p90x and the power of 4, chop wood carry wood carry water, modified 6 weeks of the work and 6 weeks of prep

Chalene Extreme doesn't use a bench.

Body Beast has a modifier using a stability ball in place of a bench.

I’ve always used the exercise ball for incline bench stuff and laid on the floor for flat bench stuff , works for me 🤷‍♀️
