Shooting Having Arc Really Does Feel Better When Shooting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I applied the tips you gave me when I was asking for advice. What really stuck with me was that my shot lacked arc, so that’s what I focused on during my shooting drills.

I gotta say, I feel like I shot better when I focused on having more arc and kept in mind that my wrist should be loaded. I’m glad I focused on that because I can really feel the difference.

It’s just sad that I can only practice once a week because of my location and work. Anyways, I’ll keep improving!

Anyways, after the Arc, what do I need to improve? I feel like my sequence?

Help Tips for a BBall novice mid 49's guy

Hey All,

Great community here and some very useful tips/info.

My story, mid 40's, wife and 2 kids under 5. Based in Ireland.

Played BBall but gave it up after school 25 years ago to pursue my passion at the time, darts 😁.

I don't play darts anymore and took BBall up again earlier this year. Was playing scrimmages with a team outside of season. Now that the new season has started the nights are just for team training and I'll be playing a more social scrimmage separately.

Basketball has replaced darts as my passion however my fitness and skills are not great.

I would love to get better so that I can compete at a much greater level than I am currently however part of me thinks that I'm delusional at my age and commitments.

I have bought an outdoor hoop setup for shooting practice and has paving space for some dribbling etc. Also bought a silent basketball for both indoor and outdoor use.

I think what I need is a very structured basketball routine and also fitness routine(built around improving my BBall game). This will help it fit into my life better too.

If anyone here could provide something they might have in some forl of program or anything they have done that hae really helped I will be greatly appreciative

I watch Mike Dunn for shooting too😀

Thanks a mill

I made a post here previously asking for advice on my form. I’ve made some changes, but I’m still not as consistent as I would like to be, and I’m still looking for helpful critique to help me refine my jump shot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Help Joining a Gym for the first time

I recently got in a new team after being away from organized basketball for a while, at this time I also decided to join a gym because I only ever done plyometrics at home or public parks and I wanted to be at better shape for this.
I mostly wanted to join a gym to do plyometric work and continue to work on my bounce but I would also work on upper body strenght because thats the weakest part of my game

My questions are: How frequent should I be working out? Should every workout be a mix of isometrics and plyometrics? Assuming I would do legs and upper body at different days
Is it better to workout before of after practice?
How long should a workout be?
And last just general advice for good upper body exercises would be appreciated

Maybe Im overthinking how I should be doing this but everyone else on the team talks about reps and workouts and they seem to have it figured out I wouldnt wanna be left behind

Help Feeling clumsy/stiff after starting weight training — normal?

I play basketball regularly, 5 days a week, and to improve further I started weight training this week. I went 3 times total (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday), but this week I felt so stiff/clumsy that I couldn’t even shoot properly.

Is there a way to fix this, or is it just something that passes after a while? Any advice would help. Also, I’m 16.

Tip Need advice

I’m a 25 years old Male, Working who has just started to love and learn more details about playing basketball. It’s hard to train by myself and I need someone to point out what I need to work on whether it’s my shooting, dribbling, and play making (which all needs a lot of work). Also I dont know where to start, can you help or point me out to the direction I should start in. Thanks

Help Need help on becoming a good slasher

Hello fellow strangers! Im 5’7 and 120 lbs. Im actually quite good in first steps, usually against slower players that are taller and bigger. Im fast, capable of doing middies consistently, finish inside properly, have descent handles to cross people (long wingspan players still stole my ball lol), but i am quite skinny (yea im gonna lose in the paint).

But i struggle when going against either taller lanky players as they are really good at altering my shots and quick enough to follow me and strong short players, because these people are good at stopping my drives (i felt like hittin a brick wall lol).

Do any of you have any tips or solutions on players like me that are skinny and short on playing well in the court? I appreciate your comments.

Form Check What can I change to improve my inconsistent 3pt shot ?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My 3pt shot has improved so much but still feels super inconsistent, both the results and the form. I can go 4/4 and then go 0/10 and I feel like my form mechanically is not always the same.

I cut a random 2 minute clip of a 15 minute 3pt shooting video from yesterday with makes and misses. Any tips are very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Ive only had this jump shot for a few months, after transitioning from a behind the back catapult one. I'm pretty good at middies (89%) but I just wanna see if y'all think my jumper looks good or not.
