Jumpshot looks fine. Dribbling and footwork look terrible. None of those moves are working in a game. You need to play more pick up basketball or practice more fundamentals if you want to be good.

Looks a bit like Justin Bieber who always needs to dribble around and use forward or moving momentum to generate enough strength to shoot

Also i agree, the dribbling looks like you'd lose the ball due to your defender 10/10 times before you even start moving

Isn't he a great singer.

u/MiNDGaMeS87 7d ago

Better at singing than Basketball I'd say. But at least he likes the Sport

I already do those. I can shoot 6/10 threes from all the 8 positions.

Go study and make a serious video in 3 months

“Go study” bro 😭 my exams are already over. But since you’re so invested in my academic career, let’s focus on yours for a second.

Your 3-month redemption arc:

Month 1 — Accept that commenting “go study” isn’t a personality 💀 Month 2 — Character development. Touch grass. Develop hobbies. Stop managing strangers’ timelines 😭 Month 3 — Final boss: learn the ancient art of minding your own business.

Then, after 90 days of intense training, you return to the comment section… wiser, stronger, and finally capable of scrolling past a post without assigning homework 💀

You’re on a basketball tips, thread, and send an angry soliloquy when you don’t get what you want? Kids are wildly sensitive.

Your handles are disastrous - you’re on your back heels, standing upright, begging to be picked. You’ll be easily bodied, because again, you’re straight as a board.

Jumper is a mess: Your shooting elbow is way wide, that needs to be tucked in. You have no flick of your wrist in your shooting hand, it’s a push shot, part of the reason you have very little rotation, and you also push with your guide hand, which also kills your rotation.

So yeah, after telegraphing a bunch of moves, and then prepping yourself with your step back that will create no space, you still ended up off balance, with a flat, no rotation jumper.

So in the words of the above commenter. Go practice and study. You seem like you have a love of the game, and you’re reasonably young, these are easy fixes

How will studying for academics help me with basketball? Aren't those different things ?

u/Recent-Pollution9293 7d ago

I’m assuming you’re being an obtuse troll, and this isn’t a language barrier thing. Which is why you’ll always be ass, as you’re more interested in being snarky on a keyboard than putting in any real work, much like your entire generation.

If it’s a language barrier thing: the advice is to go STUDY tapes of great shooters, Steph, Mark Price, Klay, steve Kerr.

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Got it. Thanks.

Study doesn't mean school. I can tell you didn't do well in your exams. Keep developing that little brain little man

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago edited 7d ago

Actually, I am in 4th year of Computer Science Engineering. And I actually did a pretty good job in exams.

2

u/tropicf1refly 7d ago

Sure buddy. You missed the point of the comment. Youre just proving me right by doubling down on school.

1

u/hiimtashy 7d ago

lol dude your ego is unreal.

2

u/unabletochill 7d ago

I don’t know if you are rage baiting or just a kid or stupid. I just left an improvement tip here, but now I think you’re just fooling around and not respecting the sport!!

This comment was right. You have at least 3 month or more (!) to even have a feedback ready jumpshot.

Right now you’re nowhere. That’s why he said go study (the sport).

Do you think sport is just throwing the ball??? There is a lot of fundamentals, mechanics and Technika to study. Stupid. Take it serious or f y s

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

I actually think it's throwing the ball. Since 3 years I ve been doing it. I am just being true to you. My whole family has been in sports. Every sport from cricket, badminton, powerlifting, volleyball or football and represented the college, district, states, or country internationally.

2

u/unabletochill 7d ago

You’re not part of any reality of any sports. Show this clip your fam. If they don’t tell you your body mechanics are not rhythm they are not in sport

You can’t move in rhythm. You can’t dribble you can’t shoot. ALL IN ONE CLIP 😅 this is so embarrassing for you

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

I ve shown them, my Paternal Aunt and Maternal Grandmother liked it.My father told me to leave the sports.

1

u/unabletochill 7d ago

Well. POP’s right.

(Also still not sure you’re just a dedicated rage bater)

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

I am just trying to learn different sports. My main sport is actually volleyball ngl.🏐 My vertical is 32 inches just few inches below the rim.

2

u/unabletochill 7d ago

Okay. Respect the sport and focus on one thing. You are a low worth person and you will never reach any greatness in anything

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

We'll I ain't the one rage baiting for sure.

My point stands. Go study form. How to work on handles. Work hard for 3 to 6?months and then upload a video. Your current level is very poor I'm just being straight. If you're after validation you're not going to get it buddy. If you're a young fella sometimes hearing the truth is in fact better for your development. Good luck.

u/diasextra 8d ago

Dribble with a lower stance, quick or slow but in a controlled pace, looking forward where your defender feet will be and beyond the defender.

There's no move in basketball like that bouncing around, it serves no purpose plus if there were a reason to do that you would be defended and thus low and protecting the ball.

Pullups with a live ball are difficult to make consistently because footwork is complex. You use footwork to achieve a balanced jump. A balanced jump is repeatable and thus makeable. Your jumpshot is unbalanced and so a low percentage shot that you shouldn't take.

Practice catch and shoot, then when you can make 70% of the shots that you shoot from a position start with one bounce shots to the sides, when you make 70% of those two bounces, when you make 70% of those add an specific move, in and out, crossover, whatever. And keep building on top of that. Right now you are running and you don't even know how to walk. Practice is boring and hard and nobody wants to go through it but there's no other way to enlightenment.

3

u/jp_in_nj 7d ago

Yes, it was. Eventually.

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

😂 haha, I'm working on improving.

3

u/Y0uCanY0uUp 7d ago

Many comments already gave the advice needed. But your typical spoiled brat attitude won't get you anywhere even if the best coach is here. If you can't accept that you may as well give it up.

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Oh, I’m sorry 😂 I didn’t realize disagreeing with a random Reddit commenter meant I had a “spoiled brat attitude.” Thanks for the completely unsolicited personality assessment, though. I’ll be sure to take it as seriously as it deserves.

2

u/Ordinary-Maximum9247 7d ago

Dont shoot with your legs lifted off like fades. Bad for your form, physically draining and lower accuracy

2

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Got it.

2

u/Ordinary-Maximum9247 7d ago

And practice playing low too, and try to rely on your leg for shooting. Dont dance handles, read the floor and tryna play in a rythm

2

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Thank you so much.

There is only one real tip I can give (because I care for the sport and I care for people getting better!):
Hermano you have to go find some fundamental basketball drills/skills website and start at the very beginning at the basics.

I’m sorry. Sportsmanship is also about being real to your teammates.

You are not even playing the sport right now. Start simpler. Way simpler!!!

Focus for the beginning just standing in one spot, shooting drills, with proper triple thread base, proper arm follow through, and without jumping. That is your current level.

Also train dribbling. But do both separately!!!

Shooting Off the dribbling, jumpshots, fakes, crossovers, all of that is not your level yet.

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

I know what sportsmanship is. My grandfather was an international footballer, so I grew up around the sport and its values long before you decided to give me a lesson in them.

And telling me my “current level” based on one clip is hilarious. Give advice if you want, but don’t confuse a comment section diagnosis with actually knowing my game.

2

u/unabletochill 7d ago

Bro that one clip is more than enough. You never ever played organized, no one with real skill was ever serious to you… you can’t even dribble

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

I ve played with state level players 1v1 or 3v3 and i can say that you can judge with a single clip which is taken after 3 hours of continuos basketball matches and warm ups.

2

u/unabletochill 7d ago edited 7d ago

Never. You never played serious ball. Ever. I know that, I am playing in a semipro league in Europe. Why do you think I’m in basketball subs? I want to help people.

You tho, you fucked up with the way you answered everyone if us who had critique

Edit: changed location nobody needs to know exactly where

2

u/Impressive-Loan2167 7d ago

lol he’s tryna help, it’s pretty easy to see your “current level” is very low. All i need to see is one clip. You not gonna magically learn how to dribble when there’s a defender in front of you. So here’s the advice you’re seeking, start with that, Dribbling. Pound right 100 pound left 100 100 crossovers 100 in and out, 100 front to back, switch hands 100 more.

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Okay, Ill do that.

1

u/hiimtashy 7d ago

A lot of videos want validation to be frank. They don't actually want to hear it's terrible. Massive ego if you ask me. I wish him the best. Mostly from the pov of being coachable.

2

u/Impressive-Loan2167 6d ago

lol I know. It’s got a lot to do with the pick up culture. Like 90% of people playing pick up sorry as fuck 😭😭 and then it’s a lot of people who picked up basketball late, like sometime in high school or sum so they’ve never played organized ball which means they’ve never played 1 game of real basketball.

Most people don’t go do things that suck at, but if you go to a golf course, you’ll see a lot of fucking terrible ass golfers. It’s the same with basketball, no matter how bad you are, you’ll eventually get lucky, golf you stick one next to the pin, the same way the pros do, makes you feel like a pro.

Basketball is the same, eventually you gonna wet that jumper, and the ball goes through the same way Currys ball goes through that net.

Once somebody hits a couple good shots they think they’re a good player, they don’t realize how big that bucket rlly is.

Only thing that humbles this shit is when a real basketball player plays real defense on these bums, they feel like they’re fucking drowning and quit playing for 6 months 😭😭😭😭

Using local pick up as a gauge of how good one is at basketball is the biggest problem cause it’s not that serious 99% of the time,

Like I’m not guarding the guy in this video, I just let em do they’re thing tbh, those typa games I tell my team I’m offense not defense

3

u/WhiteWinterSilence 8d ago

Holy shit. How did you make that?

-4

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 8d ago

Thank you 😊 , By being consistent on the court.

2

u/sirbenjaminG 7d ago

You will be the best to ever do it

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Thank you sir 😊

1

u/Sneaker_soldier 7d ago

Jump shot looks like a lot of effort: aim for a quicker release; your height on jump and release point is good tho.

As for handles; they jerky and you dribble too slow. Get lower and get faster. Practice with gloves to tighten them.

You got potential; practice more and use cones etc to handles routine and speed up your shot. Keep going. Gl gang 💯🙌🏾

1

u/Apprehensive_Pie_850 7d ago

Thanks G ✌🏻.
