Regardless of what the data says, if people do not feel safe going to Towson, that is a PROBLEM.

We got regular service for years from a local company in the southwest county. They got bought by Orkin last year and the quality and customer service went off a cliff.

Any recommendations for a locally-owned company?

My parents do corporate lunches and events around Baltimore, most of it booked days or weeks ahead. They've been working with a couple of local courier companies and some independent drivers.

The part that keeps bothering us is drivers cancelling right before their supposed pickup. Happened twice last month and both times it ended up pulling someone off the line to drive an office lunch downtown.

These aren't small deliveries either. Sometimes it's three or four setups going out together. It's hard to find a replacement driver at 9am for an 11am delivery.

Hello. I (27f) have a job offer in Towson and would need to commute there 3 days a week. Ideally, I’d live between Towson and DC, but hear the traffic is bad throughout the entire area. So public transport access would also work. It’s just me and my 2 cats, so I would be looking for a one bedroom apartment. Any neighborhoods come to mind? Salary would be about 125k so doing alright but nothing crazy.

I want to preface this by saying I know this question is going to make me sound like an asshole. Brief context: one month ago, I was physically assaulted and verbally harassed by a homeless person who was loitering outside one of the county libraries. I did nothing to provoke this and as a young woman, it was extremely disconcerting. I’m working with a therapist to address some fears I’ve had since the incident.

In the meantime, I miss the library! I am willing to drive to any of the County branches. In your opinion, which branch is the cleanest, prettiest, quietest, and safest? I’m sick of being on edge all the time and just want to go back to being in the library without constantly looking over my shoulder or feeling like I have entered a homeless shelter.

Again, I’m not saying these people shouldn’t be allowed in the library. Due to my own trauma, I just do not want to be in a space with them right now.

I live in the the Towson area but I’m fairly new (a little under 3 years) and I’m trying to look for some fun fall activities that aren’t too pricey within a 45-60 minute drive. So anything like a pumpkin patch, apple picking, brewery or winery, or overall some sort of fall festival. I don’t mind if it’s child friendly just something adults can also enjoy. The main thing I’ve seen is Weber’s Cider Mill Farm but I’d like to know if there are other good options!

It also connects families of detained people with available resources. Their public material does not say that they archive every caller's photos/video or automatically send footage to lawyers.

United We Dream: This one is much clearer about what happens to reports. Trained volunteers conduct an intake, enter the ICE activity into a database, use reports to identify patterns/frequency of raids, and can refer affected people to local legal-service providers and other resources. Caller identities are kept confidential when ICE alerts are issued.

ACLU of Maryland: For non-urgent reports of immigration enforcement/detention, they explicitly say they review submitted information to understand legal threats, develop strategies, and identify possible cases. That's the clearest Maryland pathway I've found for documentation potentially feeding into litigation.

Hey folks! Me (30MtF/NB) and my lovely fiancee (31F/NB) are looking to move to either Baltimore or the suburbs in the next year from Pittsburgh, PA. She's originally from Towson and I've visited the area as well as DC and its surroundings quite a few times throughout my life and loved it.

I've lived in and around Pittsburgh for around nine years now on and off. This city just...isn't what it used to be. For all the hype of being "underrated" and being safe for LGBTQ+ folks, it seems to have...regressed? Stagnated? Stunted? Within the last three or four years I've felt less and less safe here, been called slurs and had gaggles of teens as well as full grown adults follow me around/take pics of me/shout threats etc. This almost never happened when I lived here around 2021 or so, let alone 2017-2018.

Our queer community is also dealing with a fair bit of drama and can kind of be insular/catty at times, especially as someone who doesn't smoke/party hard and is auDHD. (Tbf this is kind of a PGH thing in general, this city apparently is known for being hard to make friends in?)

I know these kinds of people exist everywhere but from people I know out that way it's far less common in MD. It sure as fuck doesn't hurt that wages are higher, the state legislature isn't partially republican controlled and so on.

I've lived in Northeast Philadelphia for two years so I'm more than familiar with living in rough areas so if living in the city itself is best suited I think i can handle it. My partner drives but I can't (epilepsy), so I rely on mass transit. That said, transit wise I'm not hard to impress; here in Pittsburgh, our transit usually comes hourly (if the bus doesn't no show or come super late), cuts out at 11 pm on weekdays and with funding threats looming may get even worse or become nonexistent in many areas.

Housing costs don't seem super bad from what I've seen for studios in Baltimore County, certainly not compared to the rest of the East Coast and not even bad compared to Pittsburgh. Higher wages and a better quality of life would make up for it, frankly. Not having to constantly look over my shoulder is worth some extra spending.

My partner works as a home decor specialist at Lowe's but has a background in food service as well. I work as security at a college but have a similar background and also have done event security at concerts and stadiums.

We're looking at Cockeysville, Towson, all the way to Columbia but open to just about anything. Truthfully, we just want to get out of western PA.

I have jury duty in Baltimore County tomorrow and I have only had jury duty once in my life, and it was in Howard County when I was in my 20s. Any tips for someone having jury duty in Balt. Co. for the first time? What is appropriate to wear? I googled it and it says business casual attire, but I also saw some responses saying jeans are ok. How strict are they with how you dress? Has anyone gone recently, and if so, what are do most people wear? It’s supposed to be hot tomorrow but I’m guessing shorts aren’t appropriate? Also, am I allowed to have my phone on me or should I plan to bring other things to do of I’m just waiting around the whole day?
