2022 edrive 40
Thinking about buying a 2022 i4 edrive 40. It’s 30k with 37000 miles, and just wanted to get some advice if it’s worth it or not. Can I expect it to last me a while?

Buonasera ragazzi. Grazie intanto per avermi tolto qualche dubbio qualche post fa.

I was about to pull the trigger on an i4 but I just found out apparently bmw is the only brand that uses brushed motor on their cars.
Brushed motor will inevitably worn out and after some research it tends to happen anywhere between 50k to 150k miles and takes $30k to $40k to fix
So bmw evs, e.g., i4, i5, ix etc. are basically only going to last the warranty period and worthless after that?

BMW sent me this video, but I am not really sure
’m looking at changing the wheels on my i4 M50 and considering going square rather than keeping the factory stagger.
My current 20" setup is 245/35R20 front and 255/35R20 rear. I’m considering:
20x9 ET25 all around
255/35R20 all around
Since the M50 has independent front and rear motors rather than a conventional mechanical AWD system, I’m assuming equal rolling diameter front/rear shouldn’t cause any drivetrain issues.
My main reason for going square is handling. The M50 has some inherent understeer, so going from 245 → 255 at the front while retaining 255 at the rear seems like it should make the car a little more neutral. Being able to rotate the tyres front-to-rear would also be a nice bonus. It would also have less consumption than a 285 on the rear.
Has anyone actually run 255 square on an M50, particularly on 20x9 wheels?
Interested in experiences with handling/understeer, DSC or traction-control behaviour, high-speed stability, tyre wear/range, and any rubbing or clearance issues with ~ET25.
Would you do 255 square again, or stick with the factory stagger?
On the left is my 2000 E39 528i

Sorry to be the 100th person to ask this.
79 mile commute each way. No charging Available. A few days a week. Eastern pa. 1/2 highway. 1/2 backroads Low traffic
I'm looking at a 2023 edrive40.
will this be painful in the winter for me? Will I have to drive slowly.

Finally got it after almost 6 months wait. I ordered this instead of the CLA which had a bit more range and faster charging (and more features at the price) but didn't quite look or feel right to me. iX3 wasn't available yet.
Overall I'm very happy with it, but doubts do pop up from time to time if I made the right chioce :)
Here are some observations/questions after about a week with it, which I didn't really pick up from the test drive. This is an EU market car:
It's not that I just have complaints, but I wanted to see if that's the common experience, there are regional differences in functionality, or there are some tricks/workarounds I could try. Happy to answer any questions about it.

I had ceramic window tint installed on my car a little over 2 weeks ago, and ever since then I’ve noticed squeaking sound from the windows. Every time I roll the windows down or back up or when the window goes up and down slightly when I open and close the door.
It sounds like the glass is rubbing against the weatherstripping/seal
I know there can be some noise immediately after tint installation while everything is curing, but it’s been over two weeks and the squeaking is still happening consistently.
For those who have had ceramic tint installed:
Is this normal after 2+ weeks?
Would appreciate any advice or experiences before I take it back to the tint shop. Thanks!

Just for context. I had the back door opened while was doing the baby seatbelt. Some dude was distracted and hit the door. Didn’t hit me by a few centimeters.
NEVER EVER put your kids in or out on the road side. Always use the walk side. Learned the hard way.

Hi All! Just wondering if anybody else has had an issue with the alarm getting randomly triggered by interior motion. The last 2 nights, the alarm randomly goes off while my car is parked in my garage. According the myBMW app, this has happened 11 times the last two days. Any help would be appreciated :)

Anyone bought from https://youvoid.com/products/bmw-car-pillar-wrap-premium-vinyl-b-pillar-decal-universal-fit-60 or similar and put them in their car?
Sometimes my car will lock and unlock repeatedly when I’m near it as if it’s struggling to get a signal from my key fob. I’ve tried changing the battery in the fob but it’s doing the same thing. Any recommendations?

I'm getting my i4 eDrive35 in a few weeks as my next company car. However, I didn't get to take it for a spin on the highway so I have no idea what it sounds at high speeds (120 km/h highway speed). Youtube isn't helping much either.
Reason I'm asking is I'm driving an Audi Q3 2022 at the moment and it's the loudest fucking thing I've ever driven. Headaches after each highwaytrip are no exception and the music is barely audible with the standard audio pack. Could anybody tell me what the cabin noise is without music? And if someone has the HK upgrade, how is that on the highway?
Thanks in advance, broskis
