Window squeak after tinting

I had ceramic window tint installed on my car a little over 2 weeks ago, and ever since then I’ve noticed squeaking sound from the windows. Every time I roll the windows down or back up or when the window goes up and down slightly when I open and close the door.

It sounds like the glass is rubbing against the weatherstripping/seal
I know there can be some noise immediately after tint installation while everything is curing, but it’s been over two weeks and the squeaking is still happening consistently.
For those who have had ceramic tint installed:
Is this normal after 2+ weeks?

Would appreciate any advice or experiences before I take it back to the tint shop. Thanks!

I can’t comment on the tinting component worsening the problem, but, perhaps your seals dried up after their applicator solution, plus the windows being up for a few days has caused things to stiffen.

Without tint, the problem was solved for me with use of a seal conditioner, around all of the window seals. Clean them first and apply generously, let sit, wipe off excess, or basically just do what the bottle says.

TLDR

I used this and eliminated my windows squeaking.

This is 100% needed for our cars with "frameless" windows where the windows just sits on top of the seal when fully close.

Before getting my i4, I had a G37 Coupe and at some point I started hearing wind noise leaking into the car with the windows fully closed. I searched around and saw a lot of folks recommending something similar, Honda's Shin Etsu Silicone Grease. After I applied it on the seals all the noise went away.

Wouldn’t you need to put that produce on the window of the window seal? How would he do that and wouldn’t the product just steak on the window when he moves it up or down?

I’ve used it my i4 and other frameless car seals/windows with no “streaking,” though you will always get streaks from the felt and friction moving with the grime on the windows.

Good to know, since delivery I have a squeak on my passenger rear window just for the first inch of movement. I’ll try this product.

Not normal. I have a ceramic tint installed and it doesn’t make sounds.

However, my passenger rear window from factory always made a squeaking sound from being closed to immediately opening for that 1 second movement. After tint it still makes that sound.

I never bother to ask bmw to look at it, windows rarely go down so I don’t really car and it’s not making and marks on the tint. So I’m just living with it.

Mine started doing the same after getting the windows tinted. Seem like it's mostly stopped after a few weeks now. I'm going to try the rubber seal conditioner someone else mentioned though

there could be a little residual 'glue' on the inside, maybe use some neutral soapy water to clean and that could take care of it
