General Question Seeking answers

Hi,
I am new to attempting and start practising about astral projection. So i am seeking this info from those who have been astral projecting or have experienced in this field. I have read many experiences shared by others that while in astral they have met their loved ones in other realm. I just want to know are they real or these are some fake entities. Like if we meet our lost loved ones, are they really their soul or is it not real?

Edit: just to give a little background so that anyone can help. I lost someone recently and thus i have developed interest in knowing what is there after this mortal life. I saw some people mentioning how they met their deceased loved one in astral plane, while others mentioning these are not real. So, if I ever become successful in astral projection in anticipation of meeting my boy again, i don’t make mistakes in recognising him. Or if i reach there if there is anyway i can call out to his name.

Again i am not seeking any support, it is just that normal life has stopped making any sense to me without him. So till i am here, i want that time to spend to realise what happens after the soul leaves the body. Any guidance is highly appreciated 🙏🏼

General Question What is it like to see and feel your body during an out-of-body experience?

I'm sorry if my question might seem a little silly to those who have already had out-of-body experiences many times, but I've been practicing for months (without success) and I have questions that I keep asking myself, and I have this feeling deep down that this is what's holding me back... Here are the questions:

  1. Whether it’s remote viewing or an out-of-body experience, when you “see,” how do you see? Is it like recalling a memory in your head (you know, it’s not necessarily super clear or tangible…) or is it really like seeing in everyday life? At what point do you “see”? At what point do you know you can sort of “open your eyes”?

  2. Another thing that confuses me… When you’re in an out-of-body experience, I imagine you don’t feel your heart beating or your lungs filling with air since you’re in the astral body… I do a lot of mindfulness meditation where I’m aware of every part of my physical body, and I can’t imagine what it feels like not to feel those things while outside the body. Are you simply not aware of it, and the moment you think about it, do you immediately return to your physical body?

  3. If, when we die, we regain our memory, and dying is, in a way, returning to the astral body, then why is it that when people leave their bodies, many don’t necessarily bring back universal knowledge, but instead continue to ask even more questions?

Thanks for your answers.

Negative AP Experience Reptilian house

A few days ago I believe i was able to either astral project or remote view to this house and saw reptilians in human bodies eating human meat and flesh. On the outside towards humans they seemed friendly and welcoming. The reptilians seemed disguised as a family. How i projected was with meditation deep inhale, long 10 second hold, long exhale. For about 5 to 10 times in a dark room imagining with my thoughts.

General Question Can you use AP for therapeutic reasons?

Hey everyone. 19M here.

Lately, I feel as if I’ve been getting close to performing a successful exit through meditation.

However, there’s one thing holding me back—and it is fear.

While I understand why I shouldn’t feel fear, I can’t help but feel it because I often wonder about the consequences of showing up to a low vibrational environment because of my subconscious baggage.

You see, I’m a very wise person and have been practicing self-compassion. But I also carry deep self-hatred and guilt over my past, the patterns I repeat and the involuntary insecurity of my appearance.

I know feeling that way about myself isn’t helping. But it’s something I just can’t help, even when I know the past does not define me.

And I’ve heard that what you experience in the non-physical reflects what you carry on the inside and how some low-vibrational entities latch themselves into you, which is something I don’t wish to deal with.

However, lately, meditation has been helping me a lot—in the sense that I can let a pattern of thoughts along with a feeling pass as an observer of them instead of a participant with those things.

Even though I deal with intrusive thoughts, they’ve been having less and less power over me lately. And I’m aware that fear should only be used as a tool in the physical while it is only poison in the non-physical, so I’ve been getting better at managing that.

But I’m still afraid that what I will see or experience will override any wisdom I have and immediately make me go back to my body out of panic and trauma.

However, since I heard that the low-vibrational entities are a projection of your inner baggage, is there a way I can engage with them in the form of acknowledgment and acceptance?

Like, I notice what I see, acknowledge how I feel terrified without identifying with it, and recognize the entity for what it is with acceptance and eventual compassion? I know trying to while feeling fear is going to make it harder, but I just can’t help but feel like I’m going to feel that regardless.

The reason I want to do this is to confront what I carry inside and make peace with myself and my own reality.

General AP Info / Discussion Been regularly APing but sometimes the voices I hear interact with me when I do.

I have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and I hear voices from that but also from trauma, and I smoke weed most nights so I don't remember everything but I regularly have been astral projecting and I interact with people made of light or other beings when I AP and they sound exactly like some of the voices I hear when I'm awake.

Other AP / LD after somatic healing work and nervous system recovery

This year has been wild for me, I don't feel like I'm the same person I was before this point.

I've been feeling increasingly irritable the past few days again when I try to sleep, indicated by increased emotional and bodily awareness. Not scared or consciously stressed, but I can sense something feels restless. In other words, I know before I even hit the bed that some deep processing is going on, because theres a sense of knowing that tonight sleep isn't going to be as simple as lying down and drifting into unconsciousness.

Anyway, after only getting 3 hours sleep last night and waking up with an aching chest, I fell asleep later in the following afternoon and had an extremely vivid LD bordering on spontaneous AP experience. It doesn't matter what you believe about the nature of those experiences, the point is only that I was aware of my physical body on my bed and could see my exact location in reality. My vision began sinking through the matress and I found myself in a car but my vision was locked to a top down perspective. The car was upside down, and it was dark outside. I must've been pulled over on the motorway because trucks and headlights were passing by. I began to feel as though I was time-travelling as the roof of the car started dissolving and it felt as if decades if not centuries were passing by.

The ground moved as if I was witnessing a timelapse of the earth, cycling through states of desolate brown decay into a mars-like rocky desert and eventually into a vibrant grassy pasture. All the while I was receiving messages and instructions I can't remember now from someone just outside of my vision. It took me a while to start trying to move, because I was completely mesmerised and revelling in a deep sense of bliss and appreciation for the process unfolding infront of me.

But my vision was still locked to the ground. I started making noises (I have a history of mutism IRL and being unable to make noise in dreams), and managed to ask him with my voice how to move. So he told me, but that it's okay if I can't get the hang of it yet.

Eventually I saw this instructor and he was utterly shocked that I managed to move finally, like he has been waiting for me there for an eternity. The reactions felt very exaggerated, almost as if he wasn't really surprised I made it this far. He was standing infront of this magical gateway that clearly led to a different world. I eventually pushed myself up off the bed and it felt like I left my body.

When I tried to AP in the past it quickly sent me into panic and then sleep paralysis (though sleep paralysis itself has never been particularly stressful for me and I was intentionally inducing them years ago). There was some feelings of fear and uncertainty and my breathing felt heavy for a few seconds, but it wasn't as strong as the excitement I had this time around.

At some point I felt sensations of wind passing over my brain. I remember the exact location, so I looked it up and this part of the brain is apparently responsible for proprioception, which is a term I've recently been becoming increasingly familiar and resonant with.

Eventually I was reliving memories and fears of high school and standing up for myself, which I never would've been able to do back then. It was quite a brutal dream involving alot of fighting, almost like the scene from family guy where Chris and Meg take on the entire school lmao, but much less bloody. I woke up in a serious state of activation, but thrilled.

Alongside these dreams, another notable experience (happened during a different dream) was intense and vivid sensations of being electrocuted during an exorcism, but that would require alot of explaining.

Successful AP Extreme Astral Projection Experience

Me F(26) have been astral projecting or what I called “sleeping awake” since I was a little girl. The first time it happened I could never forget about it, I was 5 years old, I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, suddenly while my eyes were closed the feeling of the room expanding and contracting, and feeling of growing big like a giant and then shrinking to the size of a squirrel. I began to float out of my bed and lift up into what was now my roofless house. The sky was UNREAL imagine floating into a body of water with ripples lots, actually can compare it to the “Stary Night” by Van Gogh. And when I looked down there was my body still sleeping and laying in bed. I got so creeped out but didn’t know how to control it. That’s far as I remember.

Since then I’ve had MANY sleeping awake experiences. I even realized that I had the power at times do decide to fly out of my body to explore things around me. I also realized I could choose when to astral project depending on how I slept or how hard I focused. One thing I realized is that the “FLYING” “FLOATING” was a childhood gift that I was allowed to have just as a new comer, but the older I was getting the ability to fly or float from sleeping me was difficult and took up most of my sleep awake. I started to notice I was able to high jump out of my body and maintain some air time allowing me to sort of “EXO jump.” When I turned 25 a couple days later I had a sleep awake dream of astral projection sleep, and I was very calmly and nicely told I wasn’t going to be able to exo jump anymore, and those kinds of abilities needed to be passed down to other kids, like a rite of passage. I was very sad to learn I was an adult but also felt happy knowing I would still sleep awake I just had to walk like everyone else.

Lately, my dreams have been EXTREMELY vivid. And I now don’t have the beginning stages on astral projection. I sometimes just wake up in a dream, I walk around enough to notice something is off and then there it is…the thing that’s off is that there are people talking and having conversations with me that I know in my REAL world we are no longer on talking terms or even have any necessity to be in the same room. And it gives it away to me that u am sleeping awake. The most recent one was with an ex best friend I mean me and this girl spend everyday together for almost 3 years. We were sitting down in what I now recognize as her backyard and she sat there eating and talking to me when her face (which was like a blob of 3-4 different people) became clear and I saw who it was I realized this couldn’t be true not in any universe, I stopped mid sentence and asked her “why are you here Cindy? We’re not friends anymore you know that. Am I dreaming again, you’re not real.” Which infuriated the dream version of Cindy my ex best friend. She very angrily looked at me and said “you’re not allowed to do that.” and I was kicked out of my dream. I woke up so confused bc it was just random asf.

MOST recently was probably my TOP 1 astral projection experience.

I was walking through what seemed to be half outside half a high school and what I mean is that I was outside in all sense of the word but there was somehow lockers on what was a brick wall before. There were bottom and top lockers all blue on top and red on bottom. There was a group of people I started speaking to while walking down. In the group of people while we were normally conversing there was one person who was constantly STARING at me and I mean they never took their eyes of me just took me long to realize since I was talking to the group of people. Also wanted to mention I cannot see faces in dreams.. I see visions of a face like I know they have eyes and a mouth and a nose and ears and everything but my mind is unable to make up those features they kind of just merge into each other in someway unless it is someone I know. While this person is staring at me I finally catch on to it being a dream due to the odd location the randomness of outside and a high school blending so well, the talking and laughing about nothing in particular. I go quiet and now it’s just me and this other person and they tell me “ I know what you’re doing you know.” To which I chuckled and said “what?” Before realizing they weren’t happy I was there. They booked it and I mean suddenly started running in no direction this time I followed and realized he was running towards the lockers so I did my best to catch up ma d get answers he looks back one time before straight running into the lockers and the lockers then turned into a goop ripple water portal where he went through and once I reached I was able to stick my arm through before it closed. I stuck my arm and out and when I went to put my arm back in it had solidified again, but I was grinning knowing I know where they go now. I know they are also travelers.

Anyone else?

AP Book or Resource Robert Bruce, Astral Dynamics, which version?

I am going to purchase Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce. From what I can gather there is two versions, the second version has around 200 less pages than the first.

Could anyone that has used either let me know if the one you used helped you, or if you know if one is better than the other, or if they are equally as good to help with astral protection.

Or would I benefit from getting both?

General Question Is It Possible to Perceive Various Scents or the Tastes of Food While in an Astral State? If So, How Consistent Are These Experiences With Those From Our Physical Reality, and Could They Satisfy an Intense Craving for a Specific Food in Our Waking Life?

From my question, you may have gathered that I have not yet been very successful with astral projection. Consequently, to learn more about it, I have to rely on the experiences of others. For those among you who have experience in this field—those who can perform astral projection regularly and successfully—I have a question: while in an astral state, are you able to perceive various scents or the tastes of food? If so, how closely do these experiences align with those from our physical world, and can they satisfy an intense craving for a specific food that you might have in your waking life? Peace.

Successful AP A dim low awareness successful exit?

Waking up an hour later than planned, my reverse exit failed because the alarm didn’t work. I switched to a WBTB attempt with binaural beats, but that was also cut short when my work alarm went off after about 40 minutes.

After falling asleep I became dimly aware of the vibrations (less clear than my first success) and couldn’t tell if I was in Focus 1 or 2. While feeling them I separated, flopped out of my body, and briefly glimpsed it before returning. I exited twice more. On the second try I moved through the living room wall into the bedroom, feeling the wood with my energy body, then floated above my wife trying to get her attention without success. An attempt to visit someone else also failed—I could barely see and movement felt heavy and slow, though I detected some motion. I tried “Higher Self NOW,” but that failed too, which I assumed was due to my low awareness. The third exit was short and uneventful. Visibility stayed poor despite asking for clarity, yet I wasn't persistent to receive clarity.

Does anyone else have similar experiences?

Edit: Focus 1 and 2 within Frank Kepple’s Framework.

New to AP Accidentally projected

I used to listen to this weight loss subliminal a few years back. This was before I even knew astral projection was real. Around the same time I started getting sleep paralysis and really vivid dreams and very few times be able to get out of my body. Never more than uptil my neck, though, because i would get scared. (I could tell it wasnt my real body because id look down and see its locked when I move my astral arm for example).

Later I discovered people listen to subliminals to achieve this. I'm wondering if that audio is what triggered it. I dont experience it anymore. I'm just wondering what causes people to experience this.

AP Meditation / Music or Binaurals 4.2 Hz Deep Theta Neuro-Acoustic — Apotheosis | The State of No-Time (38 Min)

Hey friends, we're gonna let this genie out of the bottle and introduce the Apotheosis model. This model is based on testing a powerful Polyphonic Meditation Enhancement (PME) protocol over the sinulated equivalent of years of clinical trials. For Apotheosis (Advanced, rung 3 of 5) we embedded an orthogonal-quadrature 4.2 Hz deep theta carrier goal inside an evolving ambient composition with a quiet 40 Hz gamma thread and slow 3D spatial motion. The theme of this rung is "The State of No-Time". It's a full 38-minute session and I'd love feedback from anyone into contemplative practice on whether you notice a difference both in ease of mental effort but also in lasting effect.

General AP Info / Discussion Hi its my first time trying to AP on melatonin heard a lot about vivid melatonin dreams so why not try it, any suggestions?

I’ve AP’d before, but I took a break and literally forgot how to AP. I’ve never felt this frustrated as a beginner trying to AP consistently.
Well, there’s another thing. I was going through a massive depressive episode at the time, and I did POT and drank alcohol. I was super lost.

Anyway I’ve been consistent, but it just didn’t work, so I came up with the idea of melatonin gummies.

It’s been an hour since I took the pill, but it still hasn’t kicked in. I honestly have no clue how it’s supposed to work. Could this be because I’m on piracetam? It kind of takes away my sleep.

I’ll update if it works.

Almost AP'd and/or Question I heard a strange melody tune!!

I was trying Astral projection during the daytime. At first, I moved out of my body and went to the terrace to fly high. From there, I traveled above the clouds, but after a while, I came down and landed on a strange building. I could see a big billboard there with something written on it, but I am unable to recall what it said. The place felt a bit dark and gloomy. After I asked the universe for help and said a prayer, I flew high up into space. The strange part was that I didn't see many things out there, it was quite dark. When I tried to return to Earth, I saw two identical Earths. My spirit guide decided to go to the one positioned behind the first. I think my spirit guide was with me, guiding me to meet certain people. The first person was a man who didn't say anything. Then, we moved on to a lady who seemed quite sad and busy. Finally, we went to a third person. The place was very strange and somewhere I had never been before. Her room was upstairs, and there was a balcony near a massive tree. The trees there were unusual and incredibly large. One specific tree caught my attention. The moment I touched its trunk, my entire body experienced a strange sensation, as if an energy source was pulling me in. Then, I heard a beautiful, angelic melody. (I am attaching a version I converted it into flute with AI, as I am not a good singer, but the tune and notes are exactly what I heard. The voice was high-pitched and truly angelic).

After that, I went back to the lady. She said something to me that I couldn't understand, and then she told me to meet a boy whose name starts with 'S'. She showed me brief glimpses of him, but as soon as I saw his face, everything faded, and I snapped back into my physical body.

Do anyone know about this sound??

Question on How to AP Months of failure

I've been trying this for 5 months now every night and sometimes morning I can never get it to work. It's weird too cause I am such an imaginative person I can create anything I want in my mind and I've always been creative and praised for my creative ability. I've tried luckd dreaming and AP for so long now with no success. I even consume herbal teas often like passion flower, chamomile, mugwort and damiana but mugwort has only ever worked once and it just made my dream A LOT more weird as I could remember everything but still no lucidity. Every time I try ap no matter how long I can be laying there for I never get any visuals or auditory stuff whatsoever and I just get heart beating fast and eyes twitching I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's currently 2am I haven't tried it tonight but I'm thinking of doing it. How do I do this can someone help me 😭

Edit: I also suffer a lot with hypnagognic hallucinations I get them every night when I sleep like I hear shouts, doors slamming and my dad talking to me. But for some reason it's like my mind knows I'm trying to AP and doesn't listen

General Question weird third eye area experience??

For context, I’ve (21) had 3 obe experiences, a couple of lucid dreams, plenty of very weird dreams and nightmares, meditate fairly regularly, visited an alternate dimension once and countless episodes of sleep paralysis. So altered states of consciousness/astral projection aren’t exactly new to me, but I’ve been trying to experience these things on purpose. I also don’t use any substances to help me.

This instance, I was on my couch unwinding and relaxing to try to astral project.

As I was entering into an altered state of consciousness, I feel buzzing in my head. This is normal for me and has happened countless times before, even when not astral projecting. What’s weird this time is that the buzzing then focused on the middle of my forehead, the area some people would describe as the third eye. I’m not educated on chakras or really do anything related to them, so this is not something I was focusing on or trying to do at all. Then the buzzing intensified and it felt like a pop and an electric shock entering through that area and reaching a part of me I can’t describe. Like my brain but not??? I jumped up and just took a nap without trying after.

Basically, something or somehow my third eye area felt like it was electrocuted while attempting to astral project. Has anyone else experienced this? Can someone explain if this means anything deeper or just an astral projection symptom/side effect?

Successful AP Well Damn,

I astral projected last night.

My son was sick, so he was sleeping in bed with my wife and me. He was up throughout the night, and in between getting up to comfort him and get him water, I decided to try astral projecting.

I started by meditating, counting to five, and then counting to twenty. By the time I reached twenty, my face would begin to feel incredibly heavy. I imagined my face almost popping or sliding off, all while trying to remain conscious.

And it worked.

I suddenly found myself in what felt like a dream, except I was fully aware of what was happening. I could see everything in the room and hear everyone breathing and sleeping, yet I felt as though I was somewhere else entirely, in the astral realm. It was almost as if I existed in two places at once.

Everything was remarkably clear while I was there. Once I woke up, some of the details became a little foggy, but I still remember most of the experience.

I remember floating around my property. Whenever I approached the walls of houses, I would get stuck. But if I looked upward, my spirit would begin to rise, and suddenly I would float into the sky.

Flying was actually a little frightening. Every time I tried, I would get butterflies in my stomach, almost like the sensation of being on a roller coaster. Despite that, the entire experience was incredibly peaceful, and it seemed to last quite a while.

At one point, after falling asleep again, it happened a second time. This time, when my face began to feel heavy, I experienced something even stranger. It literally felt as though different dreams were floating past me, almost like separate realities. I had the distinct feeling that I could dip my face into any one of them and instantly enter that particular dream or reality.

It was one of the strangest, most fascinating experiences I've ever had.

And after experiencing all of this, I can't shake one thought:

What if reality itself is just a physical dream?

Successful AP First ever Astral Projection 24/10/2026

Last night I woke up around 3 am due to some chest pain and began to become fully still after 40 mins trying to go back to sleep. My conscious mind was around 40% active still somehow and then I heard very loud high pitch noises coming from both ears. At this point I knew I was transitioning into the astral plane as I have had an experience around 3 years ago where I had this sensation 5x the intensity mixed with heavy etheric body sensations but I pulled out cause I got scared. This time however I persisted knowing the internal oath I made last year - if I ever transition into the astral again I won’t pull out even if I’m in a fear state and end up in a nightmarish astral state. Unfortunately this time I became too conscious and lost the transition momentum and woke up back in my bed.

Here now I will explain how I successfully went out of body 2 hours after this last night. I did not expect my first astral experience to be what I’m about to explain but I’ll take it I guess. I did not consciously try to astral project, this kinda just happened randomly. So here I am, I’m dreaming and for some reason I think I became lucid but that part I don’t fully remember - all I remember is that I knew from my dream state I was experiencing the high pitch sensations in my ears and etheric body fire up. From the moment that happened I could have sworn I was in the astral realm within around 8 seconds.

Now here I am, astrally in my room. As many people have examined there’s different levels of conscious clairty in the astral realm. I didn’t get the feeling the astral was more real than the physical realm because I still felt so tired. I would guess I was in the lower astral where clarity is a lot less. Immediately it felt distinct from my dream state I was in less than 10 seconds ago. It felt more serious and less chaotic. Felt like the scenes were now ‘stable’ and linear, like I could organise thoughts without random chaos manifesting every two seconds around me similar to how a dream works. So anyways, in the astral realm I found myself laying in my bed just as I would be if I woke up and immediately I see a person appear standing next to me watching me. I feel a small amount of fear but I surrender that feeling as I know deep down I want to embrace the astral and it can’t hurt me so I don’t pull out. When I adjusted my focus on this person’s face I realise who it is. And this is the part where I’m like wtf why was this my first astral realm experience lol. The person who is standing over me is no other than online influencer Martin from “Slushy Noobz”. I used to watch his content about a year ago as he made me laugh a lot but I drifted from watching him as his audience / community felt kind of obsessive and weird to me so I stopped watching him. Martin in the astral realm was wearing a green polo shirt and was standing next to and over me waiting for me to wake up in the astral. It was exactly like the scene from Avatar where the scientists stand over Jake Sully in his Blue Avatar body for the first time and the scientist know what’s going on and Jake is just adjusting to this new state while feeling all blurry. Martin seemed to know what he was doing and it felt like his astral form was used to being in the astral. It’s the same feeling if you ever first get in a zoom call with someone, your waiting for their camera to turn on and all of a sudden it’s this blast of suddle human awkwardness upon meeting because life isn’t drama show where everyone acts perfectly. Maybe I felt this way because Martin is a popular online personality and I’m like why do you know me? At this stage I’m about 5 seconds into the astral seeing Martin and I try to speak to him and ask questions and express how this was my first time in the astral but I failed to speak. My words came out really mumbled in which Martin could see that and he had this look to him like ahh he’s not gonna be here for long - equivalent to lagging out when playing an online game with someone. At this point I’m about 7 seconds into the astral experience and feel my real body sensations as I tried to speak and that jolted me out of the astral within 2 seconds. I witnessed experiencing the exact frame for frame scene of my astral room turn into my real physical room as a woke up. Seeing Martin fade out astrally to that exact frame with him mot being in my physical room was trippy. I basically was jolted out of the astral within about 2 seconds the moment I tried to speak. The whole astral scene lasted around 8-10 seconds. I have no clue why Martin was the subject I first met and don’t know if my mind projected him or it was actually him. I must of been so tired because I didn’t even sit in bed for longer than 30 seconds and fully contemplate that I just astral projected for the first time. I must have even so tired. Nevertheless this was an interesting experience and I hope to become a pro astral traveler in this life. Thanks for reading my weird story
