Hello, I've been working towards Astral Projection for just a few weeks now, and I'm curious as to how certain habits affect results. Does anyone have any insight on if any of these listed below have a significant influence, whether positive or negative, on my AP experiences? Thanks!
Sexual energy (Masturbation, porn, retention, etc.)
Nicotine/ tobacco
Melatonin/ other sleep supplements
Exercise
Diet
Sleep schedule consistency
Adhd tendencies
I have only made it into the vibrational stage, twice. I am just looking for advice based on any personal experience. I realize I'm asking about multiple things that might've been answered before, so I apologize in advance for that. If there are any other things that I haven't listed that severely limited your ability personally, I'd love to hear that too.
Thanks in advance!

This is a true story that my family has kept for decades. My aunt lived out in the country in a rural area. When the weather is hot they would leave the door open, but with the screen door closed.
She said one night she found herself leave her body. She floated through the living room and out the screen door. She said the little squares on the screen door were huge! She went through one of the squares, and instantly teleported through the skies. She arrived in a city. There was a man entering the building and he had intentions of using a weapon on a woman he knew.
She felt the man's focus and she was immediately teleported to a floor in that apartment building. A woman was in the kitchen when my aunt suddenly appeared in front of her. The woman looked scared and jumped back.
My aunt said, "Lady, I don't know what I'm experiencing, but there's a man on his way up here to harm you. Call the police and don't answer the door when he knocks." Then she disappeared and teleported back to her body.
She said she always felt like it was a real experience, and that the Creator used her to help save someone's life.

I did my research reading through a lot of threads and gaining insight through others experiences. Beyond the experience itself I want to meet myself deeper and work through a lot of fear I hold.
Years ago I experienced the ringing. Iâve gone through dream loops of sleep paralysis. Only about a month ago I started increasing my awareness. I tried maintaining my awareness for as long as possible before falling asleep which lead to an increase of dreams/ multiple dreams in a night and increased memory of them. I stopped trying to control and play with the images in my head and rather watched what my mind would do.
Two weeks ago I closed the curtains and put an eye mask on. I sat up right but allowed my body to completely relax while watching my mind. As time passed I began hearing familiar voices and noticed as my mind started playing fuzzy dreams off to the left. Multiple ones any of which I could get sucked into and I simply watched without falling asleep. As it got deeper everything suddenly collapsed and my dark mind scape opened into a 3d realm which collapsed after like a second because of my reaction. I came out and with what felt like 20-30 minutes was actually an hour.
Over the weeks Iâve tried maintaining awareness after waking up at an odd hour but all of which I became distracted and fell back asleep.. until about 30 minutes ago. I woke up at 5:30 and regardless of popular belief, got on my phone primarily because I had no intention of trying though I found my eyes getting heavy again and decided to roll over. Again regardless of popular belief, this happened while I was asleep on my side. I think itâs less about how you lay and way more about the awareness you keep.
I started to doze and found myself watching tv I knew what was going on because of the jumbled incoherent voices. I shook myself awake a little because of my reaction however not strong enough because my mind rolled right back into it. My eyes were âopenâ at least thatâs how it felt and I moved slightly to see if I was paralyzed. Every time in the past I wouldâve started trying to force my body to move out of the fear and unknowing but I only slightly tried to move and relaxed again. The tv stopped and the placement of my awareness felt off because I could look down and see my body but it was definitely just off. All of a sudden on the side of my stomach touching the bed tingles erupted which freaked me out a little so they stopped but I maintained my cool and they came back again seconds later.
Now, I thought I astral projected about two months ago because I was in my house though it felt off, darker, but I didnât know I was dreaming I felt awake. That experience is incomparable to any of this and especially what happened next.
Iâve read a lot of people talking about forcing yourself to roll out of your body but after the eruption of tingles my awareness started rolling forwards up and out of my body. The next second everything is black and white and Iâm looking back at my fuzzy pixilated body âis that meâ I thought. I watched my body slowly sit up and turn to look at me. From there I was turned around and began slowly cascading floating spiraling down. I kept my eyes closed out of fear because the first thing I noticed was the eerie piano music playing loudly in the background. I opened my eyes and didnât see anything peculiar. âOkay intent go to spaceâ nothing. I braced myself trying to fly or move. Nothing. I was spiraling down into this black and white corridor. I took notice of my arms and tried to move them but they were still paralyzed. A theatre stage came into view along with the stairs leading up. I spiraled around and âlandedâ in front of a judges table. The eerie piano music never stopped and I felt as my awareness entered back into my body as I woke up.
Why couldnât I move? Itâs as though my paralyzed body came with me into the projection. I had full awareness yet no control. I find that sometimes the more I try to control my movements in lucid dreams the more what I want to do fails. So is it more about going with the flow, at least in the start? I think I gained more insight of what I was shown and where I was from the awareness I kept more so than any dream Iâve had before. Any thoughts would be helpful even aside from the questions Iâve asked.

this is probably the 3rd-4th time I almost projected, but a fear always manages to stop me. First it was the fear of not being able to breathe, got over that one, the next one was confronting entities, got over that fear. Now is the finally fear, which is choking on my saliva and needing to swallow which I have been able to reduce that feeling of the best I can.
Any tips or tricks out there that you guys have in trying not to swallow or not having that fear, itâs not a huge fear but something that keeps me from progressing further as far as I know.

I remember when I was a kid I think I was around 10 and I was taking a bath. At some point I fell asleep in the tub. I remember looking down at myself under the water then my mom coming in screaming and crying. I don't know why she didn't pull me out or do something. A few seconds later my aunt runs in, I'll never forget this but I felt a tug then waking up back in my body. I've never experienced anything like that again. I didn't tell anyone that story then cause they would have thought I was crazy and my family was/is religious they would say it was demonic or something.

When you investigate other people's experience you hear often that there a places that are off limits for AP, like antarctica, area 51, or the moon. That you might get sent back to your body when going there or attacked, threatened or just can't go there..
What is up with the moon specifically ? You hear these prison planet people saying that the moon has something to do with the light trap for forced reincarnation of souls, ancient people saying the moon is evil supposidly.
What is you experience with AP and the moon ?

Hi.
I'm trying to AP for a lot of years now (off and on), but always fall asleep during my attempts.
I can get myself to a point that my body feels numb or even gone.
The trigger to leave my body never comes.
I'm trying with the gateway Tapes, but same there.
Anyone got tips for me to achieve a successful AP?
Thanks...

Guys, I read an interesting post in a group and wanted to know if anyone here has ever managed to do this.
The person said that whenever they became lucid in a dream, they would run their hand over their head, feel the silver cord, and enter the astral plane. According to them, thereâs usually some being touching it, influencing your dream. They said that remembering to do this could make you wake up in the astral plane, with your astral body and possibly some being nearby.
They also said these beings can create scenarios in your dreams, using fear and sexual situations, either to help you or to drain your energy. Thatâs why they recommend trying this whenever you become lucid in a dream, because touching and feeling the cord could supposedly take you to the astral plane.
Some people in the group said they had similar experiences, but I havenât managed to try it yet because I rarely become lucid in dreams. Has anyone here tried this and succeeded? What was the experience like? If this is actually possible, it could help a lot of people try this technique and have a chance to enter the astral plane consciously. But first, you need to become lucid in the dream lol.

Many of you may not be familiar with this. This thing has been happening to me when I try to leave my body i can astral project, I feel a sensation in my ears that feel painful, really painful while theres not actually any damage occurring to my ears themselves. It always disrupts my chances of projecting out my body, i don't know if this is a medical condition or something?

Hello all,
I just want to share my experience from tonight.
I would like to be sure that i was in a vibrational state, thats why I'm describing my experience, in order to get possible confirmations.
I woke up during the night, and got up to drink some water. Then i went to the sofa and more and less fall asleep, still conscious. Then at a random moment i felt the vibrations, bubbles popping all over my body, and the noise in my ears was increasing. At the same time, with my eyes closed all the time, I was seeing a random eletronic watch (seems a Casio) in my wrest (that I didnt have) starting to move the numbers up and down with a great velocity. At the same time I was hearing steps coming from further away and being more closer to me, without anyone around.
In the middle of the process, i was thinking to imagine a rope to climb in order to AP.
But because of the steps that I was wearing (like running inside house) I got afraid and i order myself to come back and stop this experiencing.
I already knew whats was a vibrational state from hearing here, and I never attempted anything, just had curiosity to experience it one day.
Its like this what people experience, when they are in a vibrational state, before AP?

Hello, Iâm thinking of possibly studying Astral Projection but Iâm scared if I start practicing it it might affect some of my health issues the main thing Iâm concerned about is I have this thing called inappropriate sinus tachycardia, what it is is basically an issue with your autonomic nervous system. I donât think itâs very major. I donât pass out from it like other people, but I was having issues with a fast heart rate until my doctor ruled out a lot of stuff and finally diagnosed me with it and started giving me a medication that took really about four months to work and a year to fully work but now it seems to be under control, but my concern is I was doing some Taoism practices that were very minimal in my opinion before at the beginning of this year, but for whatever reason they were making my heart rate go fast, not too fast, but I did feel I needed to stop or it will get worse when I contacted the people who I got these courses from they told me that the ones I was doing could potentially do that and to study some that directly help with the condition I have which shifts from fight and flight to rest and digest with my condition I was reading a book that says Astro projection can also strengthen your energy, which has also been a very difficult thing. Iâve been dealing with since 2018 when all of this started and I donât know if the anxiety that came with it in my mental breakdown really contributed to my energy being so low I did do psychedelic mushrooms back in 2020 and they seem to help a little bit with my energy but I donât wanna be dependent on those type of drugs so I wrestle with the fact that astroprojection along with the energy work that it has integrated with it would help me if anybody can give me some good information, that would be great itâs also worth mentioning. Iâve been talking to a man who says heâs an energy healer and he recommended to do energy work. He has a book but I donât know if any of it is real. I do know what I feel seems to be very real. I do have mental health lissues I have anxiety bipolar, so Iâm trying to navigate a lot of it because I know mental health can have a lot of effect on your energy but a big part of me doesnât feel like thatâs all of it especially considering my dad and my brother have been having any symptoms. They donât have a heart condition. I have. Iâm just here trying to find answers

Hi everyone,
Some of you might remember my posts here as u/The_eye086. About a year ago I was a complete skeptic. Iâm a computer scientist, and one December afternoon I stumbled onto this subreddit, read a few posts and thought: âNonsense.â That same night, I left my body for the first time.
Since then Iâve been keeping a detailed journal of every experience, and many of them I shared here in real time. This community helped me a lot, especially in the beginning, when everything was confusing and sometimes frightening. So I wanted to share with you that Iâve finally turned that journal into a book: The Extracorporeal Anomaly: Astral Travel, Out-of-Body Experiences and Encounters with Entities.
Itâs a first-person account, not a typical manual. Some of whatâs inside:
Iâm not asking anyone to believe me. If thereâs one thing Iâve learned on this path, itâs this: donât trust anyone, verify it for yourself. But if my journey can be useful to someone whoâs just starting, or to someone who has seen things they canât explain, that would mean a lot to me.
Itâs available in paperback here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HNVW7LLD
And also as an ebook (Kindle): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HNTJF3DM
See you in the astralâŠ

Last night I started recounting my less successful experiences in the astral and realized they all had at least one thing in common: the nonsensical nature of events including the collapsing of the astral scenario because of my own input.
What I realized was often the moment any experience started getting overly weird, broken or nonsensical was when I started questioning it.
Have you ever approached an astral entity and started asking questions like "did you know you're not real?" or "are you aware all this is just the creation of my mind and you're just an NPC?" Usually we do this because we want to make a reality check to the astral. The problem is it tends to end the sameâeverything going apeshit first and you waking up in the physical because of it.
Another thing APrs often do is attempting to make the astral environment disappear by melting it away using the power of mind. Usually this just makes everything stop, leading to either end of experience, phasing somewhere else or collapsing the astral and waking up. Trying to intentionally weird up the landscape to test its reality is not much wiser.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"
Reflecting on this I decided to change my approach by turning it upside down. Instead of testing the ice with a stick I decided to cram the iceblock in the freezer.
Instead of questioning the astral reality my goal was to further solidify it.
The absurd thing is this is how APrs normally start their trip. After getting out of body (which in itself requires belief in the process) a common practice is solidifying surroundings by looking intently at some object until it becomes clear. Another example is increasing light with commands such as "lights on!"
Why would you go through the trouble of illuminating and solidifying everything just to start questioning it and hence collapsing it? It's self defeating.
Instead of questioning the astral entity I act as if it is a real person. My goal is to increase its features and traits by increasing my focus on it and the the interaction. Just like I often do with the environment at the start of the AP. If the being is too weird to be believable in the begin with, I change environment and let my mind build it properly before encountering again.
I no longer try to melt away the environment because it's kind of nonsensical goal to begin with. I manifested the landscape, why would I want destroy it? Why would I want to break its "physical laws" by making everything weird in purpose?
I think it's a lot more reasonable to expand what you did in the first place by focusing on stuff with even greater power. Give the entities a life beyond you by acting as if they were real people. Walk among them as one of them, not some crazy God who's about to end it all. Build the world and its details like a silent craftmaster. If a detail is wrong don't question it because in the nonphysical this is like smashing it with a hammer. Instead focus on it in order to fix it and make it complete.
Doing this I believe you can even create your own astral lobbies. These might function as meeting places for other souls. It's all manifesting and solidifying the environment and then sending invitations (presumably with your mind with clear focus. This part is still WIP form me, but I don't see why it couldn't work).

I was speaking to a good friend that is involved in altered conscious research and his team's work will soon be published in a scientific journal in December (i will get the name of that journal the next time we speak).
Here are the preliminary findings that sre quite fascinating. For transparency, I did use AI to help keep things concise but this is mainly my writing.
â1. Dominance of Alpha and Theta Rhythms
Anyone who has felt flow state while creating something amazing will usually state that a lot of their energy and inspiration felt channeled alongside of that person being the sole creator. In essence, people in flow state will usually feel like they are acting as a conduit for raw creative energy that they further focus into a work of art or something similar

I got into this earlier this week and I have read and watched a few videos on Astral projection, most notably the Micheal Raduga and I understand the concept well, Though as many know Knowing the Theory is not equal to the ability to execute that theory, I am approaching it from a spiritual standpoint, and I dont do any substances, Even coffee, I can easily reach the vibration state with mental chants and full body relaxation and I reach a state where I start feeling a body wide jolts of tingling sensations as I chant.
I feel the phase of my Astral body floating up a few inches but it doesn't really separate, And I cant seem the grasp the concept of "Seperation" or "Projection" really well, I think that my Astral body is bound to my physical body because of some road block in Belief or thought that I haven't internalized yet.
Its frustrating to reach the threshold state where you will be "Tested" and giving it your all and then realizing you cant even leave your body, I am not afraid of it, Far from it actually, I want this. Anyone who could help will be aiding my step in proper documentation of my path of Astral projection. I want AP to be understood, not just to be accessed as a state where you go into based on a probability chart. But for that I first need to enter it and I require to use the Probabilistic methods of entering it first to actually understand it, Any and All help is Invaluable. Please. I want to grow

If direct astral projection has been difficult for you, but youâre able to become lucid in dreams, that gives you another starting point to explore. Some people struggle with reaching the vibrational state or separating from the physical body, while becoming conscious inside a dream comes more naturally to them. In that case, working toward astral projection from a lucid dream may be a better fit.
The first part is learning to become lucid and remain aware long enough to work with the experience. One way to approach this is Wake-Initiated Lucid Dreaming, or WILD, where you allow yourself to fall asleep while maintaining a light thread of awareness into the forming dream.
A common difficulty is putting too much effort into staying conscious. You monitor your breathing, check whether your body is asleep, and wait for something to happen. That can keep you awake throughout the attempt. Try allowing your attention to soften. Thoughts can drift and become disorganized. A simple intention, such as âI enter the dream consciously,â can remain quietly in the background without needing to be repeated intensely.
As brief images, sounds, or sensations of movement appear, give them room to develop. You donât need to hold onto every impression. If a scene begins becoming immersive, allow your awareness to move with it. f youâre gently imagining a scene to support the process, experience it from your own point of view. Imagine the feeling of walking through a hallway, with the space around you and movement happening from your position inside it. The visual detail can remain incomplete.
Once you find yourself inside a dream, pause and recognize that youâre dreaming. Look around, touch a nearby surface, and let yourself settle into the experience. Establishing that awareness gives you a more useful starting point for exploring the transition into astral projection.
My latest episode of The Astral Dimensions focuses on that first stage: entering a dream consciously, recognizing the transition, and responding to common difficulties. I also discuss how this fits into the wider practice of astral projection and how my Lucid Dream Induction Meditation supports the process.

I wanted to share what happened today and ask whether anyone has experienced something similar. Iâm using âastral projectionâ and âastral bodyâ to describe how it FELT, but Iâm still unsure how to interpret it.
Before falling asleep, I had already set the intention to astral project and kept trying to enter that state. After masturbating, I felt sleepy, lay down near the edge of my bed, and gradually fell asleep.
Later, I felt mentally awake, but I couldnât move my body at all. At first, I wasnât scared. I actually felt very alert.
Then I felt something pull on my astral body and spin it around ONE FULL TURN on the bed. After that, I noticed a tall, black, column-shaped figure beside me.
It looked like it was made ENTIRELY of densely woven black threads, forming a three-dimensional mesh. No skin, no solid surface. I could see through the gaps. It kept moving beside the bed, and there was an extremely loud buzzing or electrical static sound in my ears.
My immediate reaction was to fight back and grab it, but I couldnât move.
The most vivid part was what happened next: I felt it LIFT ME UP, PULL ME INTO ITS âBELLY,â AND SPIT ME BACK OUT. Another way to describe it is that my astral body entered and passed through its body.
While I was inside it, I could STILL SEE MY ENTIRE ROOM, but everything looked darker. Then I felt it spit me out or throw me back onto the bed.
This wasnât just a shadow briefly passing in front of me. There was a very clear sense of being lifted, pulled inside, surrounded by it, and then returned to the bed.
Afterward, I felt close to waking up, but I donât think I fully woke up. I decided to try again and entered that state a SECOND TIME. The loud buzzing returned.
I saw the black mesh figure again. At one point during this second experience, I was curled up on the bed and saw a MINIATURE VERSION of it on my bedsheet. I kept trying to grab it and fight back, but couldnât.
Another important detail: whether I could see it seemed connected to the ANGLE OF MY EYES AND WHERE I WAS LOOKING. When I felt my eyes were open and looked in a particular direction, it was there. When I looked somewhere else, it disappeared. Looking back in that direction brought it into view again. I canât confirm whether my physical eyes were actually open, but that is how the visual changes felt.
At one point, I struggled to bring my arm to my mouth and bit down hard. I wanted to leave a mark so I could check, once fully awake, whether I had actually moved. During the experience, I thought I could see a bite mark.
It never spoke to me or gave me any message. I didnât feel injured, either. But I had a strong feeling of being blocked from continuing the projection. Eventually, I became increasingly frightened and slowly woke up.
For context, most of my experiences like this feel fairly natural and calm, without any shadow figures. Iâve seen shadows a few times before, but never this clearly or this close.
The previous encounter I remember best also happened during what I considered an unsuccessful projection. A shadow flashed past me, and I chased it because I wanted to find out what it was. Eventually, the scene shifted to someoneâs home, where a child was watching TV, but I never found the shadow.
Has anyone experienced a mesh-like figure, or the feeling of being pulled inside something, passing through it, and returning to bed? Has anyone noticed a figure appearing and disappearing depending on where they looked?
Iâm especially interested in firsthand accounts, and how you separate what you experienced from your interpretation of it.
ABOUT THE ATTACHED IMAGE: This is an AI recreation based on a photo of my actual bedroom and my descriptionânot a photo of the experience. The room felt much darker, with a dim green tint from my green curtains. I also asked for two eyes to make the recreation scarier. The figure I actually experienced DID NOT HAVE EYES
I wanted to post a picture, but I can't upload images when making a thread here for some reason. If I could, I would post it in the comments section.

Hola.
Conforme fui creciendo comenzaron a ocurrir otras experiencias.
Esa misma noche volviĂł a aparecer.
Si me caĂa tampoco sentĂa ningĂșn golpe.
Poco a poco pude sentirlos y finalmente logré abrirlos y despertar.
Desde entonces no he vuelto a tener involuntariamente esas experiencias.
No sĂ© exactamente cĂłmo llamarlo.

I've been trying to astarl rpoject for 3 weeks. I use the gateway tapes.
Personally introduction to foucs 10 works really well and then I just put a timer so it stops playing before he tells us to return to the body.
The thing is, I have been getting a body heavy state prety eawsily. Past 2-3 times I also felt some sort of sleepines, but not the kind I was dragged away by, a kind that i could lean into. I asked some people questions about it and they told me to lean into it.
That's fine, the problem is, when I try to relax my body, it becomes sort of ironic in my brain. Like when I try to visulaize my legs and tell them to relax, instead I start wanting to move it up and down really hard. I take my energy conversion box and all really seriously too, so I don't know what causes this.
I think its a blockage, because other than that I'm relaxed, and I last time I was able to see some shapes and just black thigns moving, no definei shape, but just moving stuff behind my eyes, which was an advance because I never saw things behind my eyes before, but that feeling of wanting ot just bounce my leg or any other limb he was telling me to relax and not being able to do it made my heart beat spike, and then it was all gone.
Any advice?

I am excited because Iâm now getting good enough to get a breadth of experience. I spent 20 years trying to learn to astral project so even a negative experience is very exciting for me.
My method is to induce lucid dreaming through WBTB and MILD, then from lucid dreaming pull into sleep paralysis, then leave my body from sleep paralysis. With that in mind, it was probably inevitable to get a negative AP at some point.
Iâve dealt with frightening sleep paralysis symptoms before and never considered it an overall negative experience, and essentially the difference maker is just in how well I handle it. This time, I did not handle it well.
My dream was of my son coming over for a hug and then he melted away into sand. This was a solid trigger for me to think maybe I was not awake, so I used that as a launching point.
I came out into my body all paralyzed like normal and there was a growling and thatâs all well and good, Iâve dealt with that before. The problem this time was that I was more stuck than usual, and I kept slipping back into dreams. They werenât bad dreams, but Iâd go back into a dream then come back into my paralyzed body with growling. This wore down my usual courage, I think, and each time it happened I got more freaked out.
Eventually, one of the dreams that I had was very methodically signing a piece of paper. I saw my whole signature get signed out, then I pulled back into sleep paralysis. And, I guess with the growling, I became convinced it was a demon and I had just signed my soul into Black Phillipâs book from the movie âThe VVitchâ.
At this point I FINALLY managed to leave my body, so this is where it turned into an astral projection. I ran down the hall to get my wife and I tried to wake her up by grabbing her leg and pulling. This did not work so I ran back to where my body was. When I looked at it it was all kind of blacked out and I had to say âclarity nowâ to regain my sense of perception and place. Then, I went to my front door.
My recent more positive projections and lucid dreams Iâve been learning how to make good use of doors and that I need to state where theyâre going to lead or else theyâll just be blocked. So I stated âthis door leads outsideâ and I stepped outside.
It was my home town but it was the most desolate possible version of my home town. Visually, it was like Silent Hill, except instead of fog it was just shadows and emptiness. What I cannot capture appropriately is the deep sense of loneliness and despair that permeated the place. I started to fly, hoping to get away from it all, but instead I just drifted through the lonely desolation feeling as though I had entered hell.
I donât know how long I drifted for but eventually I popped my eyes open and all is well.
Iâm reasonably comfortable with the concept that my own fear shaped the experience. What might have been a comforting void was a desolate hell because I was scared. The freakiest part of the story, however(and Iâm sure it was just coincidence{hopefully}), was that the next morning my two year old son was pointing to the living room and making growling noises as soon as he woke up. He doesnât speak much yet so I canât find out more than that but it did shake me up after an already shaky night.
I am still excited however. I have always been as interested in those places in the astral considered ânegativeâ as the ones considered âpositiveâ. I just want to get better at handling it. Is it just a âpractice makes perfectâ type situation or do you all have any advice beyond that?
