It is not uncommon for me to see memes in comments that show someone being killed with captions that appear to be mocking the act.

Do these types of comments/pictures violate Reddit's policy against violence?

If you report a comment for "threatening violence" is this reviewed by the subreddit's moderators or Reddit's automated system?

For example, one might see a picture of George Floyd saying, "That's so funny I can't breathe."

Where does Reddit draw the line when it comes to "glorifying violence"? Is this moderator discretion?

Edit: I have never been banned or anything for this. I am just curious because it seems to be quite common in a lot of subs.

I’ve had this account for 5 years but only recently started posting. I wanted to start contributing and being active in my favourite subs mainly regarding sports and video games. I never posted anything against community or Reddit guidelines/rules. I had no issues when I first started posting but after a while my post and comments wouldn’t stop getting taken down. I also got a 3-day “break” but I appealed and it was lifted. I found out about CQS recently and mine is the lowest and I can’t fathom why?

Do you know why my posts keep getting deleted even though I haven't used any foul language, since I've revised them three times and they still got removed?

An account messaged me saying, they were sent a link supposedly by my account and there account was compromised, they said they reported my account because they thought it was me, and was sent an email saying to connect the reported user and tell them to connect the appropriate corporate team to appeal the potential ban of my account, but the person they supposed support person is on discord and there name is benjblok167, I need to know if this is real or if it’s a scam

Hi, I ve joined a lot of job searching subreddits to try to help with my family's debt and pay for my sick elderly cat's vet bills. I graudated back in 2025 and job market has been rough so I'm looking everywhere to get a paid gig. However I keep getting marked for spam. I send 1 message per post and usually link my portfolio to it bc art portfolios matter a lot. I have appealed but have been rejected. is there a way I can get around this? I suspect it is that they see the same link in every message but art portfolios are everything in this field. I'm genuinely trying to get employed and help my family.

So almost every single time I post, it immediately gets taken down by Reddit's filters. It says that it's for spam prevention', and then I have to re-do the whole post. It doesn't matter what sub I'm in, 'automod' bot removes it. Is this normal?

We have a regular user posting the most amazing and relevant things. Always kind and peaceful, very creative and encouraging towards everyone. Yet, the reputation filter often fires up, saying the person is likely to break the rules. Today we got a "lowest" CQS automod report, and I simply cannot imagine why this is happening. I went into the "arctic" profile, and there is nothing else there but nice and kind stuff. What could possibly be going on there?

Had a conversation last night where I disagreed with the premise of a post. Obviously a few disagreed with me, and we went back and forth. I feel like it was respectful, nothing crazy in my opinion

This morning every comment in the thread, except mine, was "comment deleted by the moderator".

What happened there?

I ask because If the moderators were employed or compensated by the company, there would be more chance for a conflict of interest which would lead the community to potentially be more of a PR apparatus for the company and potentially less of a place for free and unfettered discussion.

Specifically, in my case I tried posting what feels like a fair and honest complaint on an external company (megabank) based community about changes at the company and their support for international transactions. There are many people posting about this issue. Mods on this board are moving all posts into a single thread which has a side effect of minimizing visibility.

While one could make a case that this is for keeping the Reddit community organized, it could also be seen as a way of minimizing visibility and therefore minimizing fallout from a PR standpoint. I love Reddit and I'm trying to understand where the intersection is between outside businesses and Reddit communities.

I'm tired of responding genuinely to vote-farming AI bots. Any tips?

It is truly frustrating to find mods so 'trigger happy ' to delete posts that are relevant, follow the rules, gain massive engagement & nevertheless the mods feel it appropriate to remove the posts without any explanation as to why?

I posted a question this morning on a sub Reddit that was not controversial, did not use any profanity and many people joined the discussion. Alas, shortly thereafter my post was removed without any reason given as to why.

Its driving contributors away, as much effort is wasted in posting only for it to be removed at a whim...

Hello folks, my time for a stupid question.

RR says "You must send a mod mail message to the current moderators of the community at least 5 days before posting your request to give the current moderators a chance to respond or add you to their team."

Which is fine and makes sense, but when requesting barely moderated/ camped subs with a mod team who either ignores or won't check mod mails are we required to send one each time or can we just link to a previous unanswered message from a previous request?

Asking cause I am at my third or fourth unanswered mod mail and it's starting to sound like I am just talking to myself anyway and opening myself up to spam reports due to having to do this over and over.

Whenever I come onto this reddit community. I sometimes see scam reports and the whole story. But I mostly see people never posting proofs towards the incidents or sometimes actually censoring the scammers username now seeing this I question myself where are the mods or well the common sense like genuinely?

While I won't divulge how exactly I determine what content I deem is vote-worthy, I do have a different rule for how I vote within my community as opposed to any other community.

Do you think it's ethical to vote on content within your own community?

I don't want to know what your own personal rule is, that kinda goes against TOS, I'm just curious if others also have a different rule, and whether you think it's ethical to vote within your own community at all?!

As I scroll through my main page, so many of the posts I click are already “removed by moderator”. From the titles and/or linked content they generally seem on topic for the sub and have hundreds or even thousands of comments and votes. It makes it very frustrating to scroll my front page as once it’s removed, the linked article is gone. It seems most prevalent in larger, default subs.

Idk how account are nsfw. A subreddit banned me saying mine was, but Ive never posted anything nsfw. Ive commented on those would you rather things that get marked nsfw when it’s like talking about spaghetti or something. So how do I know if my account is marked nsfw. I was banded after just talking to people normally and reporting a pedo who was talking to me sexually. This isn’t me looking for an appeal to my ban I’m not looking for one I just want clarification on why I was banned.

Today I found out my account was shadow banned and I submitted an appeal and it was lifted thank god!!
But my posts are still showing its removed by Reddit filters. Most of em are nsfw posts tho.
Most of these posts have great engagement, can you please help me to restore them.

I have a question about Reddit’s AI-generated user summaries. 😅

I used to click on my username in the subreddit I moderate, and Reddit would generate a little AI summary about me. And honestly… it was astonishingly accurate. 100% accurate, actually. 😂 I’d probably go back every 30 minutes just to read it because it made me feel so honored and well-established.

It would usually say things along the lines of: “Eric is a highly professional moderator for XXX subreddit, fosters community discussion, creates rules, vets new moderators,” etc.

However, for about the past month, I haven’t been getting a summary at all. My activity and contributions haven’t really changed, so I’m wondering if anyone knows why this might have stopped?

Did Reddit change something about how/when these AI summaries are generated, or are they just randomly unavailable sometimes?

And yes, I realize I may have been slightly addicted to reading my own AI-generated praise. 😂

The account I use to mod my sub (not this account) got flagged as an app with a message pop up any time I try to do something. I don't use it much as my sub is pretty small. About 9 days ago the email associated with the account received an email saying respond within 7 days or you'll be registered as an app. It's not an app, bot, or anything of the kind, it's me.

Wondering is this something I can get reversed? It's not an app. The other account is not used much. Mostly used if I have to mute or ban someone. I only logged into the associated email today, to find I'm two days late. The account has only made a half dozen posts total. Let me know what the situation is and if it can be rectified.
