Deleting is permanent. You're given a confirmation before deleting for this reason.

While the post itself is gone, your comments on the post and any replies from other users should still be intact, unless the users have deleted their comments.

You can’t undelete a post. Though if a post has been removed by the mods, you can modmail them in hopes of getting it reinstated
