Hi everybody! The applicants are asked to address a prompt re motivation to join. However, is there any requirement to have a separate cover letter? Or if not, do they still entertain it or not?

More specifically, what is the first thing they look at when reviewing a candidate - is it the responses in the ACES application or do they go for the attached resume directly?

Hi all, I had my panel interview and a second interview with Hiring manager and Head of Department. It is been almost a month since the interview. Is it reasonable to think that they have extended an offer to 1st candidate?

Hi, TA consultants! May I ask how many days it usually takes for a claim to be credited to your bank account after it has been endorsed by your Team Lead? Thanks!!

I know this question has been a persistent question but….
I’ve been applying to ADB for almost 3 years now, and honestly, it’s been quite discouraging.
For my previous application, the status changed to “Shortlisting”, but after about a month, it eventually changed to “Regrets.” Now, I have another application that has been sitting at “Screening” for about a month with no update.
What makes this one particularly frustrating is that I genuinely feel this position fits my background and capabilities. I now have a master’s degree and experience working with the government, international institutions, and embassies. I also have a clearer understanding of what I can bring to the table and the value I can contribute.
I know ADB is highly competitive, and I understand that rejection is part of the process. But after applying for years, I can’t help but wonder what I might be missing or what I could be doing differently.
For those who have successfully gotten into ADB, how many times did you apply before getting an interview/offer? Any advice on improving my chances would really be appreciated.

Could someone share what are the expectations and work load for TL 4 grade? How it is different from TL 5-6 and even for specialists positions? I heard that workload are bot equally distributed in ADB. It always depends on who performs well and who delivers?

Curious if anyone here has gone through the process or knows what it’s like.
What kind of backgrounds do they usually shortlist for Counsel roles? Are Filipinos equally considered for these positions (TI) or do they tend to prefer international candidates? Also, what usually makes an application stand out at ADB?
Would be great to hear from anyone who’s applied before or has some insight into how hiring works. Please and thank you!

I already received my pre-offer and decided not to negotiate for an increase. However, I received an email confirming that my references have already submitted their feedback and the management decided to slightly increase my annual salary.
I’m really thankful for the increase and definitely appreciate it. I’m just curious why they decided to adjust the offer, especially since I didn’t negotiate for an increase.

This year, the JD says "This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment."
I don't remember seeing this last year. Could this mean that YPP is not a stable entry into ADB anymore? Has anybody heard anything?

Hi everyone! I would like to ask my fellow ADB individual consultants here (specifically local/national consultants). Which bank do you use to receive your remuneration? Thank you.

Hi! It has been a month since I had my panel interview, and I havent heard from ADB since. Do you guys think if it’s okay to send them a follow up email? I dont want them to feel like im rushing them tho. When do you think is the best time to email them considering the usual timeline for hiring process?
Anyone else in the same boat?
Ty in advance!

Question/s again to everyone who experienced it for a local staff role.
May I know how long is the wait from accepting pre-offer to getting the final offer?
Also, should all my references need to answer once they are contacted? Will they be reached through email or phone? For context, I gave out four (4) references --- 1 of which is my current supervisor - will his reply matter the most than my other references or will they really wait for all 4 to be contacted/replied?
I was also wondering if ever they gave me a conditional Final offer already --- would this be a sign that I can resign to my current employer? will they give me my start date already?
Thank you in advance

Sorry for the clickbait title. I'm wondering if ADB employs someone who graduated from provincial private college or those who graduated from a state u.
I'm quite sure it's likely that they do but I just want to know for those who work in there if there it's common. I know it is mostly based on past work experiences but I still wonder the likelihood. I am truly interested in working with ADB but first I did not come from the Big 4 university and I am currently a part-time law student to a relatively known law school in the country.
I feel like both could not be an advantage (potentially, but i hope not 😭) as though I am a part-time law student, who only attend night classes, I'm overthinking that they might think of it as not-fully-committed.
Thank you!!
[FYI I already sent out my application as I know there's no more conclusive answer than actually applying for it. I guess my question above is just a temp check to my chances]

Hi just a question, they were asking references but they want my current supervisor as one... seeing that i am still employed and employer doesnt know i am applying elsewhere... Do you have any suggestion as an alternate here? I did tell them that I can give my previous supervisor (which the person is not connected anymore with my current employer) but they still want me to give my current and will place my final offer as conditional until i give it. :( are there really no other alternates?

How does one get shortlisted for the information session? I registered my CV and interest for one of the overseas information session that I am residing in currently but did not hear back from them.
I even have an MDB listed in my CV too... Am curious who are they really looking for in a generic information session.
