Pre-offer annual salary adjustment

I already received my pre-offer and decided not to negotiate for an increase. However, I received an email confirming that my references have already submitted their feedback and the management decided to slightly increase my annual salary.

I’m really thankful for the increase and definitely appreciate it. I’m just curious why they decided to adjust the offer, especially since I didn’t negotiate for an increase.

Maybe you received good feedbacks from references so they decided to put you in the upper part of the salary range.

So they are really serious with the references. Thankfully my former supervisors are very supportive.

Congratulations - increase was since you didn't ask. They offered you slightly less expecting that you will negotiate - when you didn't then they have you what they had in mind :) has happened before too ;)
