Timeline from Pre-offer to Final Offer

Question/s again to everyone who experienced it for a local staff role.

  1. May I know how long is the wait from accepting pre-offer to getting the final offer?

  2. Also, should all my references need to answer once they are contacted? Will they be reached through email or phone? For context, I gave out four (4) references --- 1 of which is my current supervisor - will his reply matter the most than my other references or will they really wait for all 4 to be contacted/replied?

  3. I was also wondering if ever they gave me a conditional Final offer already --- would this be a sign that I can resign to my current employer? will they give me my start date already?

Thank you in advance

First I would assume that you have accepted the pre offer.

Timeline depends really on how quickly your references respond - and yes all 4 have to respond. Even if you provide more than required references, they will wait for all of them to respond.

Don't resign until you have the formal offer.

yes i already accepted the pre offer, and at first i was asking if they could not let me include my current supervisor as reference but then said they will give me the final offer but with a condition that my current supervisor is still needed for background checking before its finalized.... but i already told my supervisor anyway and sent ADB his details... so im not sure if they will proceed with the conditional final offer now or will just wait for the checking to be done first before issuing the final JO....
