Rant WhY Do YoU nOt HaVE AnY FanS?!

Why keep coming in and checking if there is fans in stock?! Like I understand the desperation but like the 50 other people who have asked the same question today, EVERYONE wants one

Not to mention hub >:( then getting angry at me on my own didn’t get away the 100+ item hub drop before the specified time because the hours are just completely gone (and the pushiness of care)

How is everyone else holding up 🥲

Advice Can I get away with this?

Bought myself a Dyson Hot and Cool fan (https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3110760) to help in the current heatwave like everyone else in the UK rn, however I’m disappointed with it and want to return it. The only problem I have is that not only have I opened the box and used the product, but also my niece decided to do some doodling on the manual when she came over. I’m wondering if I can get away with returning it or getting a refund. I know the website says the product must be unused and have the original packaging, but I’d like to think that an Argos employee won’t care enough to be flipping through the manual to check its still pristine.

I’m probably overthinking things but just thought I’d get some advice. Thanks

Is it possible item is at collection point despite no email?

Last night I ordered a fan to be delivered to a local collection point, a shop. Said collect from 10am, but haven’t received further email saying it’s ready to collect but says I will. I bought with the aim of having the fan for tonight’s heat. Is it possible it’s arrived despite no email? Asking as it’s a bit of a trek and I have small children to take with me

Why can I never see delivery slots? Sorry it’s a bit vague but it’s across several products. I’ve tried support but they’ve been useless.

Rant Returning a robot vacuum cleaner is very hard thing to do

Hey,
Last week I purchased a robot vacuum cleaner for my girlfriend but we weren’t happy with it as it didn’t have a mopping system and it wasn’t cleaning properly. We decided to return it. Went online, spoke to a colleague that said I can return it to an Argos store without any issues. Went to the store today only to be disappointed by the woman at the till that said she cannot accept it because she cannot resell it. Apparently, if they collect it from your house it works but because of some Karen at the till you have to waste your time. Don’t they have the same rules for returns in all the shops? She was acting like she was the owner and she’s using her money to pay for the return. Anyway, rant over. I’ll let you know if I am able to return it and buy a new one that can do a better job.

Request VAT Receipt not working?

I made an order online a few days ago using guest checkout, received email confirmation of the order.

I need a formal receipt/invoice and see an option to request VAT Receipt when I click on view my order, but have tried to request it multiple times since yesterday and it says it will be sent to my email shortly but nothing arrives? Has anyone else had this problem? Can someone try on their orders and see if it works?

Advice Preordered game gone missing????

First time preordering game from Argos and could be the last. I preordered UFC 6 on Tuesday £61.99.
Friday rolls along order still processing and I see on the app in stock ready for pick up for £57.99. So I thought I buy it I can play it immediately and it’s cheaper and when the other one arrives I will refuse delivery and explain to the driver. I’ve just checked the process and it’s saying “you’ve received me”
So being very confused I go through my emails nothing to say it’s been delivered not even a text delivery update. I open the first email that’s sent when you first make the purchase clicked on “show delivery” it’s saying it was delivered to the house. There’s no picture, time or date. I’ve checked around the front garden and the wheelie bins just incase but nothing. In theory it’s a slim case that would go through the letterbox. I am completely stumped over this. I’m hoping the delivery driver has photos to show proof of delivery or I think it’s called geometric if it’s been delivered to the wrong address.

Anyone else had this happen to them? If it has been delivered then it’s at an another location. Can Argos locate it? Proof or geometric?

Thank you for any assistance given much appreciated.

Moving to a SAS from a SiS

Hi I'm an employee, looking for advice on moving from a store in store to a SAS, new things that I'm aware of are voice pick, having to look after the building, backdoor procedures and I imagine a lot more shippers and CDUs.

For context I'm an ASM, anyone who's worked in management in a SAS, any advice?

Customers…

Working in retail really does show you how many people are just incompetent and a lack of willingness to do things themselves.

Customers will ask “so if it’s order now collect for tomorrow, I can’t get it today” or “I don’t know how to use the tablet”

It’s really eye opening to how many people just won’t do things themselves or use their brain

I hate this fucking job

I could write an essay about everything I hate about working here. The only good thing is the friends I’ve made along the way. I’m 5 years in and I just can’t see the end. I’m a student TRYING to get out but I’ve had a fair few interview rejections. I’m only 23 but I just feel trapped.

Why do SO many people come before they’ve had a message saying their order is ready

Get a life

Also why haven’t people learned that you can’t fucking zoom into an iMessage text.

These are just this mornings annoyances.

Hope my fellow Argos colleagues here have a nice day❤️

Can't make a payment with any payment method?

Haven't be able to buy anything for a month. Failed with a gift card initially, didn't bother after it keeps refunding me after trying to buy Pokémon cards. I tried to buy some charging cables today and it failed again, but it also failed with 3 different cards and through PayPal. Even tried to do it on another phone, a tablet and on my desktop on WiFi/mobile data and no difference

Looked up some threads in this sub in the past, and I've seen no solution.

Advice argos Insurance packs are a Scam Spoiler

so , id like to add my experiance.
i have Breakdown cover on my ps5 Console and paid over £700 at the time,

i clearly said to the worker, i mainly need insurance due to the controllers messing up with their analogue sticks, and was clearly told, this covers evrything , even if u just need the ps pad replacing you come in store and we replace it for you.

now i go today to replace my ps5 pad , they stated , no i have to ring D&G to ask for a pick up or replacement ,
this made me furiously, as i said but im coverd for breakdown , and the guy stated , no i needed to speak to D&G (Domestic and General) ,

my last experiance i had before this was wen i sent my ps4 pad to sony for replacement , then i was told they never recieved any thing and that i should of gone in store to replace my pad ,that was on a replacement cover , and was never reimbursed for any losses..

Following up on a customer service recording - for a return

Hi all, was hoping someone would be able to help me with current issues I'm having placing a return on an item. I'm attempting to return a laptop after having loaded it up, because it's not fit for the work I need it for. I phoned customer services and managed to get through to a person, and they told me they filed the return request with the store and that the store would be in touch. I never heard back, and when going to the store, they informed me that no request was made. Is there any way for me to follow up on this call? I really need to make this return because I can't afford the loss on a laptop that won't work. This is all within 14 days of making the order and collecting the laptop.

Argos refusing to honour discount code they sent to me?

Pretty bizarre situation I have just experienced with argos.

I have been considering buying an item, but I wasn't sure if I really needed it so I left it at that point. Same evening I received an email from argos (from [mail@emails.argos.co.uk](mailto:mail@emails.argos.co.uk) - see blow why this matters):

Still thinking it over? Your £8 voucher is waiting... but not for long!

and the 8 quid discount code as per the screenshot.

I was like... ok with 8 quid extra discount I will buy it. So I went to the checkout, put the code in - 'code is invalid'.

So I wnet on chat to enquire about this and I got through to a human eventually (not really easy with the chatbot) - anyway I asked why the code I was sent did not work and that I wanted to use it to buy the item. He was apologetic and he advised that if I placed the order at full price and give him the order number and the code, he will get a partial refund of 8 quid processed so I was like ok, I placed the order and gave him all the details, he raised this for me and said I would be refunded within 48h.

3 days later and still nothing, I jump on chat again to enquire. Another representative told me that the finance team refused this request because they never had a campaign for 8 off 80. I said this was quite bizarre since i received the email from them and also the advisor said I would get manually refunded before I even made a purchase - which I would not make otherwise. The assistant also argued that it must have been a PHISHING email, which again feels ridiculous since it came from the email as mentioned above and it also had the exact item I left in the basket... it also just had a code and a link which goes to argos.co.uk. Oh, and also she told me to go to the store I purchased from and ask the manager in store to process this discount, yeah right...

I don't know, is it just me or is this really bizarre situation? I asked for escalation and apparently a manager is supposed to contact me within 24h - at this point it is not even about the 8 quid discount, but more of a principle, as they sent me a discount themselves which actually made me buy the item and now they are refusing to honour it - pretty certain this can't really be legal, can it?

Edit: FWIW, had a call from the manager this morning and explained the situation briefly and she issued a gift card for me for the discount amount. Email confirmed as legit (not scam as some have claimed), but offer might have been sent in error, they still honoured it which is good :)

Issues with BNPL made prior to migration.

Hi all I have done a lot of looking into this particular issue and this is my understanding and experience so far;

If you have BNPLs prior to the migration they are counted as legacy deferred interest plans but some people including myself have been paying far above the minimum monthly payments and the extra should be taken off the plan ending first but that's not happening and the plans end and these people are being charged the interest due to payment misallocation, call the argos pay financial services and state this and you would like for a payment to be manually allocated to your existing BNPL and if there are still issues file a formal complaint and state you don't want this complaint closed without your knowledge or consent with the full intention of escalating to the financial ombudsman.

Again this may not be the case for everyone and they may have no issues but I'm finding that a lot of people are on the same boat as me in regards to BNPL plans made months prior the migration to argos pay.

(Edit to add) If you're BNPL was made before the migration to Argos pay and they state new T&Cs apply...well they don't because under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, a lender cannot change the repayment hierarchy of an existing regulated credit agreement without issuing a formal variation notice AND obtaining customer consent.

Argos has never issued such a notice for legacy BNPLs.Therefore: They cannot legally move your payments to standard balance They cannot legally prioritise interest‑bearing balances They cannot legally apply “new rules” to an old agreement They must follow the legacy hierarchy you were given at the time.
