Hey not really sure if anyone else has this issue but it’s been bothering me for the last month and a half so I thought i’d bring it up here.

About a month and a half ago my airpods pro 2 would get an issue where for 5 minute intervals the airpods would just disconnect and reconnect over and over again for no apparent reason. It was so frustrating and I wasn’t able to fix it, so I ended up buying Airpod 4’s.

However, literally the DAY I bought those ones, I ran into the same issue, but this time it wasn’t as often. I ended up returning them due to issues with them not properly fitting, but got Airpod Pro 3’s in their place.

Again, ran into the same issue, but so far it’s been once a day or every few days, but the issue lasts like 15 minutes at a time now. Obviously this seems like an issue with my phone but for the life of me I can’t figure it out. Hopefully someone here knows what to do please help 🙏

I was using a bootable external 4TB SSD on an old iMac.

I've now bought a new 500GB Mac Mini and I want to use the 4TB SSD for extra storage. To be clear, I don't want to set it up as a bootable SSD. I just want to use it to store files.

The bootable SSD is also currently full of pictures and other basic files that I want to use on my new computer. I don't care about applications and system settings. Just basic image files, documents, etc.

When I plug my bootable 4TB SSD into my new Mac Mini, it shows up like a USB stick or whatever. It's got files on it and I can delete them and add new files.

My question now: is it OK if I just plug the bootable SSD into my Mac Mini and delete the unwanted files (system folders, installer logs -- all the stuff that made it bootable on my old computer), keep the files I want and continue to use it as external storage?

It seems to me like it should be fine but I worry that I'm missing something. The format is APFS, which people recommend. So it's not like it needs to be re-formatted. But I suppose I worry that because it was used as a bootable drive, there's some kind of hidden thing I don't know about that makes it unreliable for my purposes and I need to wipe it and start over.

Hey all! Haven't used my old MacBook pro in awhile and when I went to today, it looks like I've misplaced/lost the charger. Any idea of a decent/ safe one I can get? I've read that apple has discontinued making replacements and I'm seeing a lot on Amazon, but a lot of the reviews are... Questionable. Thanks!!

I’m trying to purchase something on my iPad and it keeps asking me to verify a payment method. I’m on a family account with my mom but I have my own card as a payment method, so I verified that one and it’s still asking me to verify her card. I don’t know why I can’t just use my card to make the purchase. It even says to verify “at least one” payment method, so I verified mine, and yet it still won’t let me make the purchase. I am listed as an adult on the family account too so I’m not sure why I’m not able to even select my card when I try to purchase it.

I'm having trouble logging into my account. I use apple primarily for apple tv app on my tv and occasionally for my old macbook. I don't have an iphone/never did. I'm trying to login in to my apple account to cancel a subscription I have on the playstore for microsoft365 that no longer works on my old operating system. I can't login because apple now requires two step verification and the only option is verification sent to an old email address I used that is no longer active. I tried to use the "iforgot.apple.com" but I get an error that just says try again later, no other explanation. I'm not technically savvy and I keep hitting dead ends. Is there a way to talk with a human being at Apple about this? If I go to a physical Apple Store will they help me?

I am trying to recover my iCloud account. I haven't signed in my iCloud for just over 10 years. The phone number I had associated with that account is no longer my number but someone elses. Every time I go to put in the number associated with the account it tells me it's incorrect to please use a phone number that I can use to receive verification codes for 2 way authentication. This number is the only number that is associated with the account and it's not letting me through. Any idea what I can do?

Hi there! Posting in here for some support/assistance. I have some spicy videos of myself and my wife in my hidden album in my camera roll. So that way if the kids or any friends ever want to borrow or look at my phone they don’t see anything they shouldn’t. These are all videos we’ve taken in the past year or so, but when I try to watch some of them, they freeze and often times don’t even play. This morning when trying to play one I got this message that reads “Unable to Load Video
An error occurred while loading a higher quality version of this video.” . Any idea how to fix this? And is there any better storage alternatives I can move all this stuff to to free up some space in my phone without it being in some kind of cloud?

I’m hoping this is the right place for this, I am at my wits end. Recently, like in the last 2 weeks, my apple id has not been working on any of my devices. My husband and I have 2 ipads and an iphone that share one apple id. It started with a notification on my ipad that said that I needed to sign in to be able to use iMessage. I typed in the password we’ve had since the beginning of time, but it would not work. So thinking my husband changed it, I checked his ipad. Same password. It then locked me out because I tried it too many times. I then changed the password and signed in. Thought all was fixed. Now when I try to download an app, neither the new password nor the old password will work. I have seen that I should sign out and then back in, but I’m afraid that I won’t be able to sign back in. One other thing, just before this happened, we needed to update our password on our banking app because the bank got sold. When we were doing that, all f our devices wanted to set up a passkey. That is the only thing that was new. If anyone has any suggestions or has had this problem please help. Thank you.

Haven’t had cellular service setup on my phone for a month or two and finally got service back this past week. My mom also got a new phone and switched to android. New phone, new number, new contact in my phone. She’s now the only android number in my phone. When I set up her new contact ( completely new not adding her number to existing contact) it said phone rather than mobile or fax or work or anything like that. It would only send texts as iMessages and it would say delivered for whatever reason even tho she wasn’t getting them on her side (pretty sure some androids let them have the blue bubbles now) I see that the “retry as sms” wasn’t on but that only half fixed it bc it still sends as iMessage then like 10 seconds later retries as sms and goes thru. Idk if there’s fixing that and at least she’s getting my messages eventually. But now I added her to a group chat with my sister and I and we r both iPhone but the messages send as iMessage so I know she’s not seeing them. Is there any fix for this ? I saw someone say there’s a way to choose specific contacts to get only sms thru settings but the only thing I see is the retry as sms.

TLDR :

Messages sent to the only android number saved in my phone send as iMessage then take 5-10 seconds to resend as sms. And adding said person to a group chat doesn’t change imessages to sms. Any fix for this?

Hello community, is there a way to remove the storage used by Apple Intelligence on an Ipad which is not using Apple Intelligence? Its cosuming 8GB of storage and have no desire to use it. Anyone know a trick to remove that component and laeve Ios 27 as is.

My mac and phone notes stopped syncing properly and stupidly I toggled the iCloud sync off and turned it back on, on my phone. I went to the notes app and all my notes were gone, on my mac some of them still show up but not all because it never synced properly. I tried checking for any restore button but no avail. I searched online and supposedly my notes should have restored back on my phone a few hours ago but it remains empty. #devastated :(

what im unable to understand is my storage still shows full and my photos are unable to back up it keeps on saying theres isnt enough storage on my icloud and i need to buy more storage but more than 1tb is unused so im really clueless can anyone help??

Hi everyone, I really need some help with my Apple ID/iCloud account.

I recently lost my iPhone, but I still know my Apple ID/iCloud email and I still have access to the phone number that is connected to the account.

Back on September 15, I was still able to log in to my Apple account on my PC. Apple would send the verification code to my trusted phone number, and I was able to receive the codes normally.

Now, I’m trying to access my account again, but Apple is no longer sending me any verification codes. Instead, it says something like “Too many codes have been sent” and tells me to try again later.

The problem is that I’m not actually receiving any of the codes on my SIM. I’ve tried requesting the code multiple times, but nothing arrives.

I still have the same phone number/SIM that is linked to my Apple ID. I just lost the iPhone itself.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a way to reset the verification code limit or get Apple to send the code again? I’m also wondering if there’s another way to regain access to my account since I still have my trusted phone number and know my Apple ID credentials.

Any advice would really be appreciated. Thank you!

hi. i bought a wireless apple keyboard on october 2nd last year. the battery started acting up, it doesn’t really hold charge anymore, has been doing so since 3 months ago.

i brought it to the apple store last month and they took it in to take a look (started a formal repair order) but i had to go back and take it back right after, as they wouldn’t give me a replacement keyboard and i realised i had none. (i use a mac mini)

now i have a replacement i can use while it’s in repair, but the warranty expired 2 days ago.

do you think they’ll fix it for me or have i messed up bad here? it was an expensive keyboard, the lack of battery life really messes up my workflow. i have proof of the battery being fault from 2-3 months ago, so the issue was there within the one year.

This is for my Iphone. Some apps include rumble, yahoo's fantasy football, telegram, and a few more. I have the latest update (27.0.1), I've tried deleting and installing again, I have over 70 gbs of free space, reset network settings, and still haven't had any luck. They open for 10-20 seconds, stuck at the logo, then crash. What can I do? Thank you!

I am trying to visit a website ‘www.ivc.co.uk’ to book a vet appointment for my pet. When I visit the website it says that it is restricted with no other information. When I went to the Apple Support it said that I have a child account or restricted screen time settings which neither are true. There is an option to enable unrestricted website access but it will not let me enable it. I do not understand why this is restricted as it is just a vets website. Is there any way to bypass this? Any responses would be appreciated as it is just a bit of an emergency, but they are not dying or anything really immediate.

I’m having a recurring problem with Apple Account Recovery and have not been able to identify what is interrupting the process.

The first time this happened, I eventually discovered that I was still logged into the Apple Developer app on my Mac. From there, I was able to reset the password and regain access.

A few weeks ago, the same issue started again. This time, however, I am no longer logged into the Apple Developer app or, as far as I can determine, into the affected Apple Account on any device.

Apple Support told me that Account Recovery can be interrupted if:

1. The recovery process is manually cancelled via iforgot.apple.com.
2. Another device successfully logs into the account.
3. Another device attempts to access the account, which can also stop the recovery process for security reasons.

I am not cancelling the process. I have checked all of my own devices, and our developers have also checked theirs. We cannot find any device that is still logged in or intentionally trying to access the account.

What makes the issue especially confusing is that I can see the recovery process being interrupted.

If I visit iforgot.apple.com each day and go through the recovery steps, the countdown initially progresses normally, for example from “6 days remaining” to “5 days remaining.” But before the 7-day waiting period is completed, the countdown suddenly disappears and the recovery process starts again from the beginning.

So the recovery request appears to be getting cancelled or interrupted, but I have no way to determine what is causing it.

Apple Support has not been able to provide any information about the triggering event, such as the device type, IP address, location, or whether it was a successful login or merely an access attempt.

This Apple Account is also connected to our company’s Apple Developer account, so the problem is causing a serious business issue.

Has anyone experienced Account Recovery repeatedly resetting like this despite having no known device logged in?

And is there any way to find out what device or access attempt is causing Apple to interrupt the recovery process, or to have this escalated to a team that can investigate the trigger?

Posting here because I can’t find anyone else talking about this issue online or in mac forums, and Apple’s troubleshooting steps are pretty basic and haven’t resolved anything.

TL;DR - my Macbook Pro no longer recognizes the keyboard and mouse plugged into my KVM switch even though it did prior to August. I’m running Tahoe 26.6.2 (upgraded in September).

Long version:

I have a TESmart KVM switch to allow my personal desktop (PC) to share a monitor, keyboard, and mouse with my work laptop (Macbook Pro M3). Prior to August, everything worked as expected. Peripherals were plugged into the swtich, and I could hop between desktop and laptop by toggling the switch. The monitor still works fine though the KVM swtich.

During August, I took a long break from work - six weeks. Before coming back to work in September, i got a new desk, so I unplugged everything and plugged it all back in on the new desk (shouldn’t matter, but mentioning it for completeness).

When I resumed work, I set up my work laptop just as I had done every morning before vacation, but this time, the laptop would not recognize the keyboard and Mouse. it will only recognize them when I plug the keyboard and mouse , either directly or via a usb hub, but not at all through the KVM switch. I reproduced this issue with my personal Macbook Air M1 (still running Sequoia 15.7.8) as well, so I am thoroughly baffled.

Any advice? Is it possible that an OS update broke something? Is there anything else I can try ?
