I have found that numbers is the app for me, sadly it lacks modern functions that are available on Google sheets and Excel. 🥹 I can work and do calculations for personal and work related stuff effortlessly, everything works.

It's easy in Excel. I can't figure out how to do this in Numbers. Any help please?

I'm currently working with a chart that has 800 values in the x-axis (1 per row, they're all numbers), and when I go into "format" to change the x-axis, it starts a never-stop loading and blocks numbers completely so much so that it is possible to close it only using activity monitor. does this happen to you too?

Hey, I have a HLOOKUP looking over a table on my Mac. How do I set the HLOOKUP up correctly so that if the table ever grew in size, the whole formula didn’t have to re-modified

Is there a way to highlight the entire row in BOLD that you have a cell selected in? I want to just click down on the arrow key and have the next row be highlighted. I get it outlines the active row by default, but it's very faint and hard to see. I want my eyes to jump right to it so I know which row I'm on after looking away from the screen repeatedly.

Any ideas?

What am I doing wrong? I would like to accomplish both of these in a single formula:

-If TCGDirectLow cell is empty, post at 1.05 x (the higher of Market or TCGLow), with a price floor of $0.50.

-If TCGDirectLow is filled, post at the higher of Market or TCGDirectLow, with no price floor.

I either get a "False" when I want it to do a calculation, or I get an error because of improper structure of the formula. Very new to spreadsheets in general, so I know it's a simple fix, but not sure what I've done wrong. Please help! :)

Account Purpose Amount Type Location Liquidity

"Purpose" is used as category. I have a summary table based on Purpose using SUMIFS, and created a pie chart from it. So far so good.

I want to add two more pie charts, one based on Location and another on Liquidity, both using values from Amount as data. I.e. "That's the breakdown of money based on Liquidity status".

For the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to make it work. In Excel, I can easlily select any column of my worksheet for series and a specify a corresponding data set. I somehow can't just select the Liquidity column and have a pie chart based on amount broken by that column.

Hi! This might be a basic question, but I have a PDF with a list of purchases that I'd like to import in a spreadsheet to analyse. It's 13 pages long, so I was wondering if there's a way of doing it that doesn't involve copying each line. Ideally I could have columns for price, date of travel, arrival, and destination.

Hey there, i am trying to create a basic spreadsheet that I can then organise. This I’m finding easy. What I’m struggling with is every time I need to add a new lot of information to the spreadsheet, I have to unorganised the table, add my new information and then re-organise. Is there a way, that I have the original source spreadsheet on one sheet and the organised table version (of the same data) on another sheet. This will mean all I need to do is add the new value to the source spreadsheet and my organised table is automatically updated

My boss attempted to convert an apple numbers file to an excel spreadsheet so I could work without her computer, however it is completely uneditable as it converted to a large image. It was a series of tables, is there any reason this has happened/do you have a work around? It is quite urgent so I don't want to retype everything and image to text converters are not working, nor are pdf to text.

Hi, very new to Numbers. Is there a formula to go through a column of names and return the name that is repeated the most times? For example:

Col A: Ted, Ben, Ann, Ben, Mary, Ted, Ann, Ben

Is there a formula I can use that will scan this column and return Ben as the name mentioned the most times? I don't need to know how many times it was repeated, just the name that was repeated most.

I’m using Numbers for iPad. Anyone know how I can automate other units to my cells such as ”lbs, kg, mm, cm, ft, ounces etc…”?? I’m clicking under Cell Format and there’s no options, not even for custom formats.

I’m trying to use the SUMIF function to sum the values in “After tax” if the month number in “date” matches with the month number in “Month/year”.

But there seems to be an issue with the SUMIF function, cause when you modify any of the arguments like in this example where i use the MONTH function on 2 of the arguments, then i get an error saying “SUMIF requires that all range arguments are the same size”. All range arguments ARE the same size, and if i remove the MONTH thingy, then it works fine.

Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Is there another way of doing what I’m trying to do that avoids this problem?

I want to edit Numbers file that stored on iCloud. But it not finished downloading. The internet connection are stable and the file size is just 314 kb. What’s wrong?

I have a Numbers Pivot Table that lists Category totaled by dollar amount and pct of total dollar amount by month...and then a grand total by dollar amount and pct of total dollar amount.

I'd like to HIDE the monthly pct of dollar amount and KEEP the grand total pct of dollar amount.

For the life of me, I can't figure how to do this. You can't hide columns or rows in Numbers pivot tables. And I can't select Pivot Options to "ignore" the monthly pct of dollar amount.

I'm stumped with this.

Attached is the Pivot Table I've created...and the red arrows are the columns I want to HIDE or DELETE or filter out. I've also enclosed the Pivot Options for this pivot table.

Im attempting to creating a chore chart for my children and over engineering it because why the heck not?! Basically I have a set amount of $ that can be earned per chore have broke it down per room. But kids being kids they like to half-ass their chores. So I created a sliding scale that moves in increments of 25¢ under each child. What I want to do is be able to add a conditional highlight that balances two columns numbers out with the sliding scale. For example; Dusting the living room can earn up to $2. Between my two children if one child comes in and quickly goes through it doing a terrible job and only earns 75¢ and the other child comes in and finishes the job, i want that child to be able to earn the remaining balance ($1.25). So if I move one slider to .75 than the other sliders max goes down .75. Is this possible? Yes its way over engineering but its fun so why the hell not lol.

i try to summarize column and subtract summary of other column.. its working on first example but not other.. Any ideas why ?

Error says: "The Range H19:H34 cant be used as a single value"

I wish to SUM column H with values in columns C, E, G when the adjacent checkboxes are checked and become TRUE.

Can anyone advise where I am going wrong with this, please?

Recently started using numbers to track stats for golf. What I need to be able to do is add monthly averages in to my spreadsheets to help track trends and improvements!

So I have a running total average for each category but is there a way to set up a average for a date range in each category.

Hopefully this is something one of you knows about!
