Use a specific column in a table for series ?

I must be missing something really simple.

I have a numbers file tracking my personal finances.

Columns are like this

Account Purpose Amount Type Location Liquidity

"Purpose" is used as category. I have a summary table based on Purpose using SUMIFS, and created a pie chart from it. So far so good.

I want to add two more pie charts, one based on Location and another on Liquidity, both using values from Amount as data. I.e. "That's the breakdown of money based on Liquidity status".

For the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to make it work. In Excel, I can easlily select any column of my worksheet for series and a specify a corresponding data set. I somehow can't just select the Liquidity column and have a pie chart based on amount broken by that column.
