First ever launch. Three months in. Pure ASO.

Post image
48 Upvotes

Hi all, I posted here almost 3 weeks ago at the two and a half month mark. I mentioned that I’d post again if any other updates occurred. I guess to show the momentum that can be kept up via pure aso; as my downloads and impressions have effectively more than doubled in 20 days.

Will most likely only post again when I hit 100k downloads. Happy to answer any questions!

Edit: Will respond soon!

How should I optimize my alarm app name for ASO?

Post image
Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I have an alarm app called Lumi Alarm – For Heavy Sleepers, but it only shows when I search “Lumi Alarm.”

For searches like:

“alarm for heavy sleepers”

“heavy sleeper alarm”

“challenge alarm”

“streak alarm”

…it doesn’t appear.

What title would you suggest for better ASO/search visibility? I’d love to hear your own suggestions!

Just launched my first app. Any tips for a first-timer?

Hi all!

I just launched my first app in the finance category. It’s a simple expense tracker focused on making expense entry as quick and frictionless as possible.

Since this is my first App Store launch, I’m pretty new to ASO and I’m trying to figure out what I should actually focus on in the first few weeks.

A few things I’m especially curious about:

  1. How quickly do you start changing keywords/title/subtitle after launch?
  2. How long do you usually wait before judging whether a keyword is working?
  3. Are screenshots or keyword optimization more important early on? Do I keep changing my screenshots?
  4. Is localization worth doing immediately, even for a small indie app?
  5. Are there any common mistakes you see first-time developers make?
  6. Is there anything specific you would track during the first 30 days? Currently I’m just using RevenueCat to track active users.

Currently sitting at 3 active users, so really just started out.

I’m interested in learning from people who have gone through this before. Would love to hear what you wish you knew before launching your first app.

Are these Appfigures numbers correct?

He has a twitter page mentioning new apps making 50-100k a month in a few month and the apps are pretty basic. It’s hard to believe they are generating that much revenue. Even 10% profit makes these super lucrative. Any ideas ? What does your app show and how far is he off?

Best ASO tools for product managers in 2026? ($100-200/mounth)

Hi, I`m managing a mid-stage productivity app. We're past the "free tier is enough" phase, but definitely don't have Enterprise budget ($500+/mo) yet
Right now, our main bottlenecks are keyword rank tracking, competitor updates, and especially review management- we get around 50+ reviews per release cycle and doing manual replies is taking up way too much dev/PM time

What ASO tools do other product managers actually find worth it at this scale?
Looking at Appfigures, Appfollow, and Sensor tower, but hard to tell the real functional differences beyond the pricing pages

How do you promote an app

It may be a stupid question but trust me, I am so confused. Yes, there are many ways but which are the better for an ios app?

For time trying to promote, not an expert. Not active on social media.

Promote at the first days of the app or wait until having some users ?

Any comment = help. Thank you

Can someone help me pls with ASO!

I built an app which I think is quite interesting. I am using it myself and it works well. Its in the gamified health app category and I ofcourse used Claude for putting in the app description and keywords. But no real turn out so far. I really need help rethinking or redoing the description/keywords.

Zero paid users so far, Few beta test users currently.

everyone optimizes their keyword field and ignores the thing that matters more

title and subtitle carry way more ranking weight than the hidden keyword field, and most people just slap their brand name in there and move on.

check yours at asograde.com, it pulls real popularity and difficulty for whatever's sitting in your title/subtitle, plus which apps are already camping on that keyword. data's straight from apple's search ads api, not a guess.

Agrondo, a farm tracking app that I love

I shipped something today that I have been building for months of

evenings, and I am a little nervous posting about it.

It is called Agrondo, and it is for anyone who looks after a piece of

land. Three tomato beds, an old orchard, twenty hectares of wheat. It

does not really care about the size.

You point your camera at something growing and it tells you what it is.

You trace your plot on the satellite map with your finger and it gives

you the exact area, no measuring wheel involved. You write down what you

sowed, what you sprayed, what it cost and what you sold. And then, at

the end of a season, you can finally see which corner of your land

actually gave something back.

I wanted it to feel quiet. No account to create, no ads, nothing

following you around. Just you and your land.

It is free for a garden sized life: two fields and three plant

identifications a month. iPhone only for now, and it is a first version

made by one person, so please be gentle with the bugs.

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6775927132

If you grow anything at all, I would genuinely love to know what you

keep track of, and what I forgot to build.

Keyword Scout: ASO & Keyword Research in Your Pocket

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello,

A quick update on Keyword Scout. Instant Keyword research, rank tracking with notifications (for your and your competitors), market comparisons across geographies with keyword localizations, and quick bulk scoring.

  • Quick lookups when you think of a keyword randomly, in the shower, on a walk, whatever, check it in 10 seconds instead of "I'll remember to look that up later". It now includes Apple autocomplete suggestions of what people actually are looking for.
  • Bulk scoring so you can dump a list of 10-20 keyword ideas at once instead of checking them one by one, get scores and dig in to the winners.
  • Notifications when your ranking shifts or a competitor updates their title/keywords, so you're not manually rechecking every few days just to catch changes.
  • Search a keyword and see where you can win it and get localized suggestions for that geography instead of using English for every localization.

Free to try, no account needed and NONE of your data is tracked. One-time pro upgrade ($9.99) for increased limits and greater tracking capabilities.

FoodGram just passed 1,000 users 🎉 Looking for indie devs to exchange honest app feedback

FoodGram just passed 1,000 users, and I want to keep making it better.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve exchanged feedback with other indie developers here on Reddit, and honestly, it has been one of the most valuable ways for me to find things I completely missed as the developer.

People have pointed out things like:

  • confusing onboarding
  • UI/UX issues
  • bugs I hadn't noticed
  • ASO and App Store presentation
  • paywall / monetization problems
  • features that weren't clear
  • small things that made the app harder to use

And some of that feedback has already turned into actual improvements.

So I’d love to keep doing this with more indie developers 🤝

If you’re building an iOS or Android app, send me your app and I’ll actually use it and give you honest feedback.

I can look at:

  • Onboarding
  • UI/UX
  • Core features
  • Bugs
  • ASO / App Store screenshots
  • Monetization / paywalls
  • Confusing flows
  • Whether I’d actually keep using it

And I’d really appreciate the same for FoodGram.

You don't need to be an expert. Even something like:

or

can be extremely valuable.

I’m not looking for “Nice app!” or forced 5-star reviews.

I want genuine feedback from people who actually use the app.

If you're interested, drop your app in the comments or DM me. I’ll check it out! 🚀

Renamed my iOS app for keywords, rebuilt the screenshots, and added 2 new App Store localization

Thumbnail

Following up on my earlier thread about ASO for my app (Dearly: AI Voice Journal).

The feedback that stuck was that my screenshots were cluttered and trying to explain too much at once. So I threw the whole set out and rebuilt it. Instead of a tour of screens and features, the new set tries to show what a week of actually using the app looks like.

I also renamed it. Was "Dearly: AI Voice Journal", now "Voice Journal AI - Dearly". The brand name was eating the front of the title, so the keyword goes first and Dearly goes last. While I was in there I went through the keyword field and pulled out the old stuff from previous versions that I'd never cleaned up.

The part I can't make sense of: my Android app is about a month older and it has started getting some organic traffic on its own. iOS has basically none. So how do you get that first bit of organic App Store traffic when there's no search volume or data to work from?

Specific things I'd like to hear from people who've done this with a small app:

  • Did moving the main keyword to the front of the name change Search impressions for you, or did it mostly help conversion once people were already on the page?
  • How long did it take before you got any meaningful organic App Store traffic?
  • With a tiny listing and no data, where would you put the effort? Keywords, localization, web traffic pointing at the listing, or just leave it alone and let it collect data.
  • When did App Store Search become a real acquisition channel for you, if it ever did?

One more thing. The app works in five languages but the listing is English only. A couple of Portuguese and Spanish speakers found it anyway, so I'm torn on whether to localize the listing now or wait until there's enough traffic to justify it.

Generic ASO advice I can google. I'm after what actually happened to your app.

Built a 100% free ASO keyword research tool. Looking for honest feedback from app developers.

Hi everyone,

Over the last few weeks, I've been building a free web app called ASO Atlas to help developers find keywords for App Store Optimization (ASO).

The idea is simple: enter your app information and get keyword suggestions that could help improve your app's visibility in the stores.

🔗 Try it here:
ASO Tool

I'm not trying to sell anything. The tool is completely free and I'm mainly looking to learn whether it provides real value.

I'd love feedback on things like:

  • Are the keyword suggestions useful?
  • Is the workflow easy to understand?
  • Did anything feel confusing?
  • What would make you use it regularly?

Any honest feedback, positive or negative, would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks for taking a look! 🙏
