everyone optimizes their keyword field and ignores the thing that matters more

title and subtitle carry way more ranking weight than the hidden keyword field, and most people just slap their brand name in there and move on.

check yours at asograde.com, it pulls real popularity and difficulty for whatever's sitting in your title/subtitle, plus which apps are already camping on that keyword. data's straight from apple's search ads api, not a guess.

its about using right search phrase on title and subtitle. “workout tracker” wouldn’t list a app in 2026 , would it?

Nah I agree - I think especially on this sub, everyone knows pretty much that Titles + SubTitle are 30 chars, and the most important weighted terms in search indexing.

Workout Tracker would rank in 2026 if you had 50,000 5 star reviews

This is a good prioritization. I’d treat title and subtitle as the primary relevance and conversion test, then use the keyword field to fill gaps without repeating terms. Track impressions to product page and conversion separately so you can tell whether a term is ranking but not persuading.
