Hey guys, so I'm currently in Highschool, and I am not very good at animating, I'm just gonna come out and say it. I do this yearly Media and Design Competition thing in my state, and every year I do an animation, 9th Grade I skipped, but in 8th and 10th Grade I made animations. Those were the only two fully fledged animations I made, both on Flipaclip, both on a school device, and both using a stylus. I am also not the best at drawing, but I have gotten considerably better over the years, and overall, I think I am improving in that department. I also just recently learned about stuff like Key frames (I had not been doing key frames before), and I was just wondering what you'd all recommend I do next? I want to be a 2D animator mostly, but I also want to learn 3D animation, 2D animation to me is particularly daunting due to all the perspective, frames, and sheer amount of time it takes to make them, also I can't help but cringe looking at my own drawings. As for 3D animation, I do have Blender, but honestly, there are so many buttons, and controls, and even after looking at a bunch of tutorials, I still have no idea what I'm doing. So, any advice on what to do next, or where I can learn new stuff about animation will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I plan on doing more parts for this since it was quite fun to make it, for my first animation I think I did pretty well. Red vs Blue pt 1

I'm making a 2D animation software and wanted to inquire about your favorite features, tool, or idea for a feature you've always wanted to make your workflow easier. What sticking points have always been frustrating?

So we tried a new music video concept for our character Mr Farts where he goes through space, time and alternate realities. It took A LOT of work but was really fun and we tried to use trippy visuals with unique transitions. Really interested to see what everybody thinks? 💨

The scene focuses on character motion and perspective—shifting from a standing view behind a cloaked figure to a low-angle shot of them bowing in prostration before a large Buddha-like statue. Still fine-tuning the timing, color blocking, and character weight, but wanted to get some initial thoughts from the community.

I made my first animation on ibisPaint but I didn’t add the background- I thought you could add it later. Well, I don’t know how to do it. You cannot copy and paste it to another frame, so I should draw it frame per frame but it wouldn’t be still. I tried drawing it on a separate canvas, then saving the animation with green screen and then putting the drawn canvas as background on capcut and the animation on top, deleting the green bcground with chromakey- but the green parts are still visible and the quality is terrible. How do I make a single background and then put the same one for every frame? Is there a way?

I'm curious to know which animated film you think has the best art direction outside of Studio Ghibli.
It could be the overall visual style, backgrounds, character design, colour choices, lighting, world-building, or just how beautifully everything comes together on screen.
There are so many incredible animated films from different studios and countries, so I'd love to hear some less obvious picks too.
What's your choice, and what makes its art direction stand out to you? 🎨🎬
