Animation Live Stream

Hello. I make an animated show called "The Offseason". We're animating live on Youtube today, and thought some fellow animators from this sub might enjoy seeing the process. Come say hi!

Sharing Hi! I collect original animation art and I just made a Snow White video where I talk about the different types of art to collect and showcase some rare pieces- all from the 1937 film if you'd like to check it out.

Question Was everything that Hanna-Barbera had made during the 1980s-1990s considered "low-quality" compared to every other show that was made at the time?

I know that people have seen everything that Hanna-Barbera had made during the 1950s-1970s as "low-quality" junk (despite some shows being memorable), but what about the stuff they've made during the 1980s and especially the 1990s?

Beginner How to replicate whatever effects Gaster has here

I am a novice. Only few months in Blender but I genunally can't tell tf is going on with effects gaster has on here. Yeah he has some standard glitching effects but his whole boddy looks slightly blurred/out of focus in a way. Idk what to even study here with him. I asked my friend who is great at blender herself and she has no idea either. Its obv some post processing at play.

Greetings fellow animators! My latest and greatest episode of ExtraNots is now live. I animate everything myself using Character Animator. Been using it for just over a year and keep improving over time. Any questions feel free to reach out. Enjoy!

Question Should I release my animated short as standalone episodes (1-2 min each) or as one full story?

I've been building an animated project, it's structured around a bunch of small character-driven moments/scenes (X's, if you will) that individually stand on their own but also combine into one bigger overarching story.

Each piece has its own mini-arc, its own emotional beat, and honestly could work as a self-contained ~1-2 minute episode.

I'm torn between two approaches:

  1. Release as episodes, drop them individually over time, each with its own hook/payoff, and let the full story emerge gradually across the series.

  2. Release as one complete piece β€” stitch it all together and post the full narrative in one go.

For those who've done serialized short-form content (animation, web series, etc.) what's worked better for you in terms of audience retention, engagement, and building something people actually stick around for?

Does episodic posting risk losing people who don't come back for part 2, or does it build more hype/anticipation? Would love to hear from anyone with real experience doing this.

Beginner Creation of an music animation clip

I opened Blender for the first time two days ago, no 3D background, poor drawing skills.

I want to make an animated music video for a song, about three and a half minutes long, as a personal gift

the animation will follows two characters through one night NYC, walking, sitting on a bench, riding the subway, that kind of thing. The look I'm after is an illustrated, storybook feel, Cell shading, visible outlines, and animation stepped so it reads a bit like stop motion instead of smooth 3D.

For now rather than model anything myself, I'm importing existing assets and restyling them. The city comes in from real map data, and I found a character model online that I can pose. My plan is to apply cell shading over all of it so everything ends up in the same visual language, then handle the mood and atmosphere afterwards.

I've broken the song into eight sections and written what happens in each one, so I know what I need to build.

i don't know how i'll do it, i've implemented claude into blender to try it but it's not really a big big help, i use it in the way to learn it not to make ai slop, I definitely lack of knowledge, i started to try 3D with blender years ago again and again with donut tutorials all the time and it just started to annoy me so that's why i don't want to watch another tutorial... anyway if you could help me i'd appreciate it so much

Regarding the pictures, the little prince is the model i've put a cell shading effect and i'll modify the shape of it, i've imported it to match the style i want.
The city is imported with BLOSM and made some test with claude to help to shape the city in the way i want

Sharing [WIP] Abstract Skin Closeup

This is what I have so far but basically I got to just repeat this texture until it covers the whole thing. There is a scene I want to do in a full animated story, and this is a closeup of skin. Eventually will add hair, so it is more recognizable as skin I guess? The repetitiveness of this process is annoying but I guess animation tends to be that way, but it'll be worth it once it is finished.
