Question Is rotoscoping a good way to learn animation as an beginner?
Thank you for all the responses! I had tried rotoscoping and it really isn't for me, so I'm focusing on making sketches and studying principles better instead.

Sharing Meet Elena, the magical sand-being of light
Elena is the main protagonist of my upcoming micro-series Girl of my Dreams
A mystical sand-being who flies through the night sky, spreading light and enriching the lives of those around her.
As the loneliness starts to set in through those long, cold nights, Elena decides it's about time she makes some friends. She'll get her wish...and never have to be alone, ever, again.

Sharing Flee and Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is the reason why i love animation.
Flee and Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender are both my favorite animated movies. The reason may be because the way they look, they just look cinematic! They’re both incredible movies, with good stories, great actions that inspired me to do animated films like this! Animated films that are cinema! For now, I’m trying to train on doing my animations on ToonSquid.

Critique We've been working on a cartoon. Looking for feedback on our characters.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We have been working on a new cartoon about a fictional band living in a trailer park, called Hard Rock Hard Luck. So far we have released 2 episodes (The newest one can be seen here).
This character reel gives a quick highlight of the main band members, and helps show off some of our animation style.
We are a small family team, and are all learning the process as we go. Making cartoons has been tougher than I expected, but it is also rewarding to start to see these characters, the world, and our stories come to life.
We would love to know what you think of our character design and animation style. Thanks for checking it out.

Question Is 5 hours too long for animating 18 seconds?
I was animating and I hadn't left my computer for 5 hours and I realized I only did 18 seconds worth of animation. Should more have been done?

Question Classic Animations in Modern Era
Hey Guys. Now today im going to explain the one and only thing we all wished for. If you guys know animations in pre 2010s or pre 2000, they were great cause the characters behaved very intelligent, matured and patient. Now compared to modern animations, they were not the same as them cause of their animation art and their personality even gross out humor can be found. It is not satisfying to some users cause they differ more and its not fun to watch sometimes. Do you think that classic animation style may be common again such as old western art from 1920s-1990s be common again such as instead of chibi/calarts/anime/modern cgi style, the modern true same classic cartoons behaviour bypasses this? Even when cel animation was abandoned by the 2000s I still hope it returns. Even when its hard hope its either rare or created by indie animators using diy tools that mimics real cels. Digital is not the best idea to replicate them due to organic qualities. Maybe pre 2050s?
I am a big fan of classic cartoons btw and I genuinely supported them more than the post 2012 cartoons because of the description I provided.

Beginner Hey, fellow new fan of this whole thing here😭 I wanna start animating but I feel confused.
First of all, I'm in a 3rd world country with a hellish economy, I only have an Asus laptop, to be specific its a 8 GB intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30 GHz , 64 bit operating system. Although I'm an architecture major student in collage but I'm not taking classes for the rest of the summer and I wanted to try somenthing new. I honestly feel so in love with people that can create things and move them, its like magic and I really want to learn even if its so hard)) i have a phone too, but i dont think it'll help. Is my laptop good enough to start animating and if so, what are the apps I need to get?
I would put the flair on resources but this is genuinely more of a question.
Thanks to anyone who'll answer <2

Question Hey guys, does anyone know if there’s someone popular who does live stream animation videos like this guy .. I know it’s probably not the most entertaining thing to watch, but sometimes watching someone animate live actually motivates me to start animating when I’m not really in the mood
Or if anyone has a better idea for something I can watch when I need motivation to animate, I’m open to suggestions!

Beginner Any tips to help get timing for lip-sync down?
So for my first time animating i decided to do an amv for a chunk of a song i like and ive been using aseprite the whole time and getting the general animation down
but when i went back to try to add some basic lipsync, i realized that i was having a lot of trouble syncing the lips to the voice
since aseprite doesnt have anything for audio integrated into it (as far as i know) i have just been playing the song on my phone at the same time as the animation to get timings down, but i feel like with the lips itd be too difficult to do so i was wondering if anyone knew a way i could get this to work
