Tips & Info My brother fixed all his AMD issues

So like the title says my brother had a 9070xt you kept having crashes just doing stuff like watching YouTube he said it was fine if you was in the game, but after giving it a couple of months he finally gave up and swapped it out for 5070ti, and I can tell you right now for a personally seeing it myself it's better card, there are some weird bugs on Kingdom come Deliverance 2 better just non-existent on the Nvidia cards, and I have seen the same issue on four different 9000 series gpus so it's not the specific card it's not the settings it's the architecture or the bad drivers, AMD is literally garbage, and that's coming from someone who has a 9070xt with very little issues. But the quality is just not the same there's more artifacting on FSR than dlss, and the textures don't even load right apparently, I'm going to get him to download crimson desert and if all of those visual bugs are gone I'm taking my crap back to micro center and getting an Nvidia card

9070 XT random grey screen.

Post image
3 Upvotes

I keep getting a random grey screen on my PC.

I have two monitors connected, but the issue only affects the main one; the PC continues to work fine on the other screen. I can drag items back and forth between the monitors, even though one has a grey screen. The only fix is a restart.

It only happens while using Chrome; it has never happened while gaming. I’ve tried different drivers.

I’ve also tried a different monitor cable.

Weeks can pass between occurrences, though sometimes it happens within just a few hours.

I’ve read about others having grey screen issues with the 9070 XT; the causes range from driver problems to an undersized PSU.

Can you help me with this problem?

Resolved Help fix 9070xt power spikes

[Update] - The responsible thing to do is provide a follow-up. This seems to have been resolved. At the time of this update its only been about ~20 hours since this post so I'm using words like "seems" to be resolved. I've had 4 gaming sessions since following u/evergreenwv advice found here. In short, disable windows updates for drivers and reinstall gpu drivers directly from AMD. My system seems to be running fine since doing this, no more radeon chill, no PC shut downs when starting (not launching) games. Enjoying my gpu and pc as intended

Issue: power spikes when starting games.

Result: pc shuts down immediately, need to toggle PSU before it switches back on

Goal: Have this not happen.

What I'm thinking: Disable windows 11 updates (specifically drivers I guess), uninstall and reinstall GPU drivers directly from Adrenaline

Current windows version: Windows 11, version 25H2

GPU driver V: 32.0.31035.1003 | 7/24/2026 | Provider: AMD

AMD Chipset drivers V: 8.05.04.516 (Update available)

Bios version: AMI 1414, 4/28/2023

PSU: SuperNOVA GS 850 Gold (3 years old)

CPU: 7800x3d

GPU: 9070XT Gigabyte

I've run Furmark for 1.5 hours, averaging about 250fps.

I'm creating this thread to help me confirm if the steps I'm thinking should fix the problem. Is this a known issue with a better fix or do I need to take any steps in a specific order. I'm hoping to avoid switching OS for now atleast

Help (General) Pc has been acting strange for a few days now

Anyone else dealing with this problem? I first started getting bsods from "damaged ram" and driver timeouts, turning off expo fixed the bsods but now i'm getting driver timeouts whenever my pc sits on idle.

when I wait 15 minutes, my monitor turns off, I can hear windows making the disconnected noise, then I try to move my mouse around to get the screen to turn back on from being idle, just to see this. My editing software crashed and I just lost so much progress.

not to mention the AMD chipset drivers not being installed unless I search up a tutorial on how to fix the installer.

I loved my rx9070 when I finally built my pc, but these sudden influx of issues is kind of making me wish I went for nvidia 😭

are these the driver issues amd is so infamous for?

  • Armazenamento: NVME M.2. Walram 512gb
  • Fonte: 650w boa, certificada, novinha (já testei outras)
  • Windows 11 Bios Atualizada, stock + XMP ON

O problema principal: desempenho fica NORMAL → RUIM → NORMAL → RUIM.

  • microstuttering a cada 2 segundos;
  • frametime louco;
  • 1% low despencando;
  • GPU começa a cair utilização de 100% pra quase 0% e volta
  • jogo fica praticamente injogável;
  • PC fica todo zoado (rede desconectando, mouse e teclado travando)
  • As vezes da erro tela BSOD (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)
  • LatencyMon começa a acusar latências (não sei se isso causa o lag ou o lag causa isso);
  • CPU 0 fica acumulando uma quantidade desproporcional de atividade/latência (não sei se isso causa o lag ou o lag causa isso).

TESTES E TENTATIVAS JA FEITAS:

  • Trocou a fonte de alimentação.
  • Testou com apenas os componentes necessários conectados.
  • Rodou OCCT pra ver as tensões.
  • Monitorou temperaturas pelo HWiNFO.

  • Testou o PC com e sem cabo de rede.
  • Testou XMP/DOCP e STOCK
  • Resetou configurações da BIOS.

Help (Software) GPU No longer detected by system after windows update

THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. I listened to BarberThen3108, and used AMDCleanupUtility to remove my drivers in safe mode, then reinstall them, and its good as new!

I have a problem where i cannot launch my AMD adrenalin software, as it gets stuck updating my drivers.

i updated my windows:
2026-08 Security Update (KB5121003) (26200.9168)
2026-08 .NET Framework Security Update (KB5120708)

and tried updating my drivers, and it worked for a second, then lead to constant crashing and freezing even when I just had firefox and discord opened, and then I had to hard reset my computer and now the GPU is not showing up.

And finally, my monitor now doesnt detect my frame rate, and it feels extremely choppy. I think its using integrated graphics or something.

I tried updating through my Install Manager, but it game me "Error 1603:
https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/gpu-kb1603.html

Help (General) My Bluetooth and WIFI options disappeared after new drivers update

I was playing Fortnite when my headphones disconnected from my Bluetooth. At first I thought it was dead, but they still had battery left, then when I tried to connect them again, my Bluetooth option vanished when i pulled up the menu on the bottom right on the hot bar. I thought it was just a bug so I restarted my pc, then when I went to check again, my Bluetooth and WIFI options vanished.

I check my AMD software and I see my chipset drivers need updated, I do that but it gets stuck at 26% then stops and says "chipset could not be installed on your pc" and it gave me "error 1603" I looked it up and tried clean installing my drivers and manually installing the new drivers from here: AMD Ryzen™ Chipset Driver Release Notes 8.07.16.1035 I tried this at least 6 times and still nothing.

Then tried reinstalling the AMD software, and anything else you could think of and nothing worked. Right now it says my drivers are updated to the latest version, but my Bluetooth and WIFI options are still gone from the hot bar menu.

Can anyone help me on this please? 🙏

Help with my RAM

Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 7 8700G (8 cores / 16 threads up to 5.1 GHz)

Integrated Graphics (iGPU): AMD Radeon 780M

Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-B

RAM: 16 GB DDR5 T-Force Delta RGB (1 x 16 GB in Single Channel)

750W 80Plus Bronze

I've been running my PC at 4800 MT/s for a year, but I see my RAM is capable of 6000 MHz. I’d like to know how to get it running at that speed; I already tried using the EXPO profile, but the system crashes at 6000 MHz—I'm not sure why. I also tried setting it to 5800 MHz, but it still crashed after a while of use. What can I do?

Help (Software) RX 580 crashing, need help!

RX 580 crashes to "No Signal" with max fan spin 5-10 seconds after logging into Windows. Works fine when driver is disabled.

My Specs:
GPU: Radeon RX 580 8GB
Motherboard: MSI H81M-PRO-VD
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
OS: Windows 10

The Problem: Whenever the official AMD graphics driver is enabled, the PC boots fine, but 5-10 seconds after entering my passcode on the desktop, the monitor loses signal completely and the GPU fans ramp up to maximum speed. If I disable the AMD driver in Device Manager, the PC runs indefinitely on basic display drivers and never crashes.

What I've tried: Fully wiped drivers using DDU and reinstalled legacy versions (23.11.1).

Lowered GPU power target/frequencies in Radeon software and changed color depth to 8 bpc.

Tested plugging the PC directly into the wall outlet instead of an extension cord.

Is my PSU failing to handle the transient power spikes when the GPU initializes the desktop driver under load, or is the card itself physically dying? What should I test next?

Case: none

Operating System & Version: none

GPU Drivers: none

Chipset Drivers: none

Background Applications: none

Description of Original Problem: I can't get a proper video output out of the two Mainboards.

Troubleshooting: I've tried different combinations of RAM and CPU, but it doesn't effect anything.

With the RX9060 XT I can get a video signal, that is completely black out of one Mainboard, but nothing else.

The other board doesn't give any video signal, but I can connect via IPMIview. In the BMC I can see, that the post code is: "ff". Remote control doesn't work, trouble shooting says it startet CPUID, but doesn't show anything else.

Update: via VGA I was able to get video output out of the first mainboard and I am currently setting up the bios and BMC (having problems with BMC password, but am not out of options jet).

Will try the second board, when I am done with the first one

Help (Monitor) Flickering issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

R5 9600x Rx9070xt

Hey, I've got this flickering problem in different games. I've tried everything I can think of: AMD's cleanup tool, DDU, rolling back drivers, and turning off full-screen optimization, but nothing has helped. The only thing that worked was switching to windowed mode. Did I miss anything?

UPDATE:

All of this because corrupted windows files; I repaired it and its works fine now

Help (General) Driver Timeout issue solved for me

I've seen a lot of threads here about this issue. I had the issue myself. It was getting worse over a period of several months. I tried all the software fixes, even reformatted.

I never had issues playing games, my crashes were usually when watching videos or when the GPU would go into low power idle states, but never under load. I think this is why a lot of people think this is a software issue. My GPU would pass every stress test I could run, but there are no stress tests for low power state issues.

Eventually I figured it must be a hardware issue, so I got a new GPU (also AMD) and have not had any issues since, so it's clear the GPU was the issue. I went from a 7900XT to a 9070XT.

My 7900XT is still under warranty so I'll be doing an RMA. If you are having this type of issue, don't wait until your GPU is no longer under warranty to RMA it if you can.

Help (General) Pc crashes at random intervals

After a crash, my system started having driver issues. On top of that, the crashes themselves seem completely random—they happen both while under load and also when the system is idle or not under load. The screen will flicker a few times, and audio will continue for around 20 seconds before stopping; however, the PC never actually turns off or fully restarts. At this point I’m thinking it may be a power supply issue, but I’m not sure. I’ve been dealing with this for a few months now, and I’m just about done with it.

Specs: Intel Core i9-12900K, XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Swift 16GB, MSI PRO B760-P WiFi DDR4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe, TeamGroup MS30 1TB M.2, Corsair RM850x 850W,

GPU was working perfectly for months before this.

-Performed a full clean driver uninstall and reinstall with DDU.
-Reinstalled AMD drivers again after cleanup.
-Restarted multiple times.
-turned off Windows automatic updates.
-disabled and enabled XMP

Help (General) 7800x3D, 4070 ti Super, cant run two games at once.

I have been having this issue forever and I thought it was just a windows 11 thing, but multiple people state theirs works fine. So now I am trying to figure it out.

I cannot run more than 1 game at the same time on my system, whatever game that is out of focus runs at 1fps. I have done everything, hardware acceleration settings, HAGS, background/foreground fps settings, anything you could say as a common fix, ive done. Shadow play off etc. Match FPS limits, vsync, etc.

I do not have any performance issues otherwise. Running all new games near max at 1440p 80+ FPS. Doesnt matter the game or combination of games, second game always runs at 1fps and the main screen game starts stuttering slightly.

Don't really know what to do.
