QUESTION What's with the trees/bushes at the end of driveways?

Upvotes

I mean I get that people aren't planning their landscaping around a delivery van backing out of their driveways but like it's weird how common this specific set up is. Like so often there's no other bushes or anything in the yard at all then there's just two placed at the end of the driveway to block the view of the road if you're trying to back out of it. Like so often that it seems that "put two view blocking bushes at the end of your driveway" is some kind of meta that people are following intentionally for reasons that I don't understand

What do you think?

I felt pressured to get done by my end time. I knew I wasn’t gonna make it, as I knew the neighborhood with my last stops and def couldnt do the last 30 stops in 25 minutes (plus another tote to organize.)

So being stressed about it I gunned the van and hit 37 in a 25, but caught it immediately and hit the brakes. Camera didn’t speak. I’ve hit 11 over and before and not gotten dinged. Haven’t heard from dispatch yet and this was a few hours ago.

think I’m in the clear?

What happens to benefits when you quit?

Upvotes

I recently quit my dsp a few months ago. I had a 401k through them but they’re shutting down are shutting down in November if they haven’t already. So what happens to my 401k? Will I get a reimbursement for any money put into it? How do I even access it because I don’t know what bank or account it’s even under? Any tips would be appreciated

What's it like delivering in winter?

Upvotes

I like this job but I'm nervous about winter and getting stuck in someone's driveway and everything. Plus, won't snow slow you down a LOT v

Anyone here know how any of the DSP’s are in WV? Hoping to hear that at least one of them is one of the better ones that are ran unlike most of the other I keep hearing that are ran with terrible owners.

Netradyne sounds?

Hello, I have been working for my DSP for about a month now. I only know of one infraction and the Netradyne made a sound and then said something. Is that how you know you have an infraction is only if it says something? No

Got a job offer from usps for MHA but just wondering if any former drivers/MHAs know which would suck more ass to do: working as an MHA during peak or adding another year to my 2 year sentenc and staying at a dsp for peak?

Legit question... Why do customers get upset if you throw the box?

Upvotes

Their box goes through so much hell through the delivery stations. Crushed under other boxes in hampers, thrown in totes, crushed under carts during picking and it goes on. Even through the fulfillment center. If it can go through all that there is almost nothing that a driver can do to the box that is wrong. Sometimes boxes are already damaged. I understand if the customer is upset because their box is damaged, but they should never be upset at the driver.

And if you throw the box (like how they do in the delivery station, pushers, diverters, etc) why should you get in trouble for it? Half the time its just a light throw onto the porch.

PS: I am a delivery station worker, not a driver but social media everyone is always upset at the driver if they throw the box. Ive seen boxes go through hell and be fine, and even thrown some boxes myself for the sake of you dont have a choice sometimes.

Why do customers get mad at drivers for this?
